So let's get in to itI gave 5 stars BECAUSE the STAFF they are so good at keeping up a brave face, they are so professional despite what they've had to endure. I'll elaborate, their is currently a special incentive going on with EBT recipients and the Mother's Nutrition. These deals are great!! They help family's stretch that dollar and insure the security of having fresh food available. It's a wonderful program. Unfortunately theirs been some terrible outcome because of it. The store is ALWAYS busy and it's never that calm, quick and easy service as is expected when going to a Mother's Nutrition. I literally have to mentally prep my self to go to the store because its overwhelming dealing with the other customers. They have been so rude, disrespectful & careless. I've had to experience smokers upon my arrival, stand right by my vehicle while I get my son off just smoking like its their right, it was never like that before. Until this program began and from what I gather it's the men related to the people shopping in the store. Whoever they are they should know better than to smoke by a store that is highly noted as a Expecting Mother's and infants shopping establishment. The employees try to regulate these people's behaviors as best they can but they can only do so much. Something needs to be done. Im a LONG time shopper. Ive been shopping here for the past 5yrs with my son and the past couple of years since this incentive began it's been awful. I called and spoke with Kathy and Sam from corporate a week ago, and they told me that they've done their absolute best but I'm writing today because I was just at the store yesterday and what I witnessed inspired a few solutions. Kathy I thank you for your time the other day, you did spend ALOT of time on the phone with me and heard me out. That is appreciated, greatly. The team/staff of this store needs to be praised and Congratulated for ALL THEIR EFFORTS. I understand like you said Kathy, they are employees and they have a job to do but at the end of the day they are just human and have limits. So I continue to note how they ALL just keep preserving and keeping up a pleasant demeanor. The shoppers that come in for the incentive majority of the time don't speak English or put on a act like they don't speak English, they challenge your employees every moment they can, they have no respect for staff or other shoppers. If they see WIC shoppers being shown preference they want to argue and cause stress and unnecessary problems. We lost the resource of the pickup service because these non wic shoppers abused it, and overwhelmed the staff with orders. They not only over ran the store but they overwhelmed the pick up service. Being a single mother with multiple disabilities & having a child with autism that pick up service was a God send. Kathy you need to go to the store and experience the disruption first hand. It's not fair to the staff to have deal with everything these non wic shoppers bring. First suggestion is, get a parking attendant out there before these people cause more grief out in the parking lot and accidents. Second suggestion get security that monitors the door and the store front so no one is smoking outside. Third suggestion, since we can't limit the hours on non wic members shopping how about we have someone serve them fruit samples or water while they wait in line. Fourth suggestion keep wic members priority(I do see this implemented at my store just wanted to keep it in the suggestions) Fifth suggestion make it clear to the non wic shoppers that they do not receive the same preferences as wic members. Make cards for them or get a translator that can communicate with them because most if not all want to act like they can't speak English. Lastly I suggest you give the team/staff members at Mother's Nutrition El Monte an Award for giving 110% of themselves to keep their Wic shoppers happy and cared for, putting their safety on the line to protect your WIC shoppers. Kathy this team/staff the store itself is well stocked they are doing their best every day but they really need to be acknowledged for their efforts. Don't get on them for not being able to control the behaviors of others that's not in their job title. I keep going back because I'm loyal to that team, I see what they've got to endure and I am so proud of them. So I keep bracing the struggle and discomfort because no matter what they always make me and my son feel welcomed and safe. My son loves the store and I do too it's less than a few minutes from my house. We've been going their for 5rys now. I really don't want to stop but the non wic shoppers are just relentless and they make things so much harder Please don't be harder on the staff help them out in any way that shows gratitude and real support. Bring back the pick up service for wic members only, it's not fair to us mother's. Your stores started out being a safe and easy place FOR MOTHERS to shop. read more

I can't believe I'm writing this review for a second time. This store used to be so amazing and now it feels like it's another grocery store. The customers that are not part of the WIC program are shoving and fighting over fruits and vegetables. Some of the WIC customers are pregnant and the other customers are pushing and shoving them. This is not the store that it once was, I don't feel safe being inside with my kids because of how crowded it is. read more

By far, this particular location left a memorable experience worth writing about. Staff members demonstrated a positive and impactful degree of operational excellence. The premises were well kept/ clean, shelves fully stocked, and the team was very hospitable and inspired a shopping experience that felt homey, family oriented, and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this business/ establishment. They have a wide selection of products, not to mention a caring team of exceptional people who always go above and beyond to help carry groceries to each customer's car. Amazing! read more

Do not come here, I came to give it a second shot after seeing the non - wic programs restarted. The employees said they do not know when it will end. Avoid If you plan on having a good shopping experience. The staff is great and very patient however this is not a safe environment due to the customers for pregnant mothers and their children. Please stay away, at this point shopping at your local supermarket is better than this. read more

I love shopping at this Mother's Nutritional Center. The fruits and vegetables are so fresh. Everybody there is so nice. The store is always so clean and organized. After so long I am back again as a WIC member. I've always like coming to this location in El Monte because of their customer service they give BUT now it has change with the new EBT elderly Asian clients. I don't mind them buying their produce here but the lines are bigger, hard to find parking or they don't park correctly and they can be so rude. I truly think Mothers Nutritional Center should ONLY focus on mothers who have little kids to get their stuff here like back then OR, to have a sign outside stating what certain days of the week and or hours EBT customers are allowed to purchase from there. ALSO, what's the point of curbside pick up if the designated parking space is taken away from a non WIC member. I understand the employees can't do much about it but they can report to the higher level regarding this issue lately. read more

So this is the first time I've been here I didn't know WIC and this store was different but they are way better. My cashier Aliza was very helpful. She was outstanding with everything I asked for. She even helped me look for milk to see which one was the closest for expiration date and they have better quality here for certain food also. This place so good just a couple months ago, but it started to get so bad that I had to let people know. So, the Staff themselves are amazing, very friendly. When it comes to the produce, it is amazing, no other place gets such great food like them. Contrary to those amazing aspects, it all loses its magical atmosphere when you get shoved by others. I hate to leave a bad review on such an amazing place, but I don't know what's worse, that the customers leave their unwanted selections all around the store, or having no space to freely walk around. People with WIC usually comes here to get their fruits, veggies, milk, etc. I am sometimes the slave of the family (ha ha ha..I am not kidding), so I come here for my sister. All the staffs are really friendly and they usually carry all your purchases to your car! All their items are really fresh and if you have WIC, you'll get a free gift (whatever they have available, usually veggies). If you picked something that's bad, they will just tell you straight up. That's what it's called customer service. To my understanding, you don't need to have WIC in order to make a purchase here, you can also use cash. :) read more

I love this mother's! It's so organized and clean. The staff is very polite and friendly! The person who helped me was a very friendly girl with dark brown hair. Think her name is Viri or something like that. She was great she even helped me by taking my groceries to my car. After having my baby and going to the store, it can be difficult. Sorry but this is the absolute worst Mother's Nutritional Center-- EVER!!!!! First things first, I called yesterday to ask a simple question, "How much are your grapes?" Here's the girl's reply, "Do you have our app on your phone you can place an order there." Ummmm...ok so that's how much they are. RME. I replied ok well I'm on my way to work can you answer the question? It's $3. Wow. That wasn't hard right? She was rushing me off the phone she couldn't just be polite and answer a simple question. Truth be told, I only went here once to pick up groceries and the girls never acknowledged me or they were never very nice. Worst customer service ever!!! Won't be back. Learn customer service please. U are driving all your customers away. This is the only MNC that I know of that has bad reviews! I wonder why. read more
