This Sprouts Farmers Market location in Monrovia is my go-to spot for healthy snacks and foods without the premium price tag that you see at Whole Foods. Everytime I visit this location, the staff is super friendly and greet you as you enter. Plenty of parking available in the lot. I came in looking for their The Good Crisp Company Cheddar Cheese Balls which is similar to Cheetos Puff balls minus the calories and added orange chemicals. These bite-sized puffed snacks has a bold cheddar taste and satisfying texture and made without artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Since I am on a health journey, and I still crave some junk food, at least this version of cheese puffs is healthier. This is why I like Sprouts because you can find similar items that are organic or healthier with less preservatives. This location is easy to navigate and my next go to is their bulk section. I come here to grab just the amount of nuts, grains, or chocolates to help with portion control. I can even make my own trail mix to enjoy at work or on long road trips. Only downside is that I've seen adults and kids using their hands to grab samples and that's a big No No for me. That compromises the cleanliness of those bulk items. I hope they figure out something where samples aren't easily taken. I still walk by their bakery area and just smell the freshly baked goods, hoping to satisfy my cravings without the added calories. There are also deli items like sandwiches, salads, and ready-to-eat meals that I typically purchase to enjoy at work. Overall, had a good visit at this Monrovia location. Sprouts is a wonderful place to shop for healthy and organic food. Their prices are reasonable depending on what you are buying. For example, beef may cost more because cows were grass fed. Eggs may cost more because they are organic. I love their selection of seasoning and nut. You can purchase those by the pound. They offer their own brand of wine for $6 (I purchase these as decor but I've heard from other shoppers that they're actually pretty good). Their service is pretty inconsistent. For example, I was there the other day and I walked by at least 5 store employees and none even greeted me. The store was empty at that point so it wasn't as if they were busy. I seemed pretty much...just invisible. However, the cashier the checkout was wonderful. I've seen him a few times at the store and he always seemed happy to be there, which is great! They have two knuckleheads working the deli now that tell me the same thing every time I go in that they don't have this or that... but the real fact of the matter is they can't find anything in the back because they are idiots. I'm a frequent Sprouts shopper, particularly for their marinated seafood, meat and poultry options. Quick and easy to make when you're on a time crunch. There is a noticeable quality difference compared to other grocery stores. I have not been dissatisfied. With that being said, I'd like to comment on the consistent, efficient and friendly service that I always receive from Fidel Chavez. Regardless of foot traffic, Fidel respectfully greets his customers, smiles and does not hesitate to engage and answer questions. Often times, Fidel is the only member assisting the seafood section and regardless, he does his work efficiently and with a great attitude! It definitely shows that management treats their team well. Matthew, was in the baking items aisle stocking shelves. While I was looking at bread flour, he mentioned about a huge discount on Bob's Red Mill Organic flour. Holy smokes! I was texting friends I know that bake if they wanted me to pick up for them. As I waited, I looked for plain tahini, which looked out of stock, Matthew got down and reached to very back to get one for me! I love shopping at this Sprouts. The store is always so clean and the employees are friendly.

I live in the neighborhood. The store is the absolute worst when it comes to customer service! If there's no one in the store, then you can get in and out pretty quickly. Don't try to get a sandwich there! There's been times when I've dropped off my paper telling him what kind of sandwich I want, went shopping and came back and it still wasn't ready. They hadn't even started sometimes.. if you want sushi, there's like five people working on sushi all the time. If you want a sandwich that's a whole other story! And if someone is there, it takes two hours for you to get your sandwich! They may have one person making 20 sandwiches for everyone. Why don't they hire more people? I guess the other thing that really irks me is, if there's a lot of of people in the store, sometimes seven people in Line with huge baskets of stuff, No one will open up another check stand. Oh, they see you but it's not important to them! by the way, that's if you can find someone that's even in eyesight to ask them to open up another check stand. The other thing, when you're going shopping, it seems they're always out of whatever you need so you have to end up going to another store. And the meat department not the butcher, but the premade racks of meat, a lot of that food is expired. I don't think anyone's checking the dates on that stuff. I remember getting to the counter and realizing that my steak was very brown so I think you get the idea If you want slow service, or any service for that matter ,if you like people that walk around and ignore you, then the Monrovia sprouts is just for you! I used to work in markets and I know how they run. I know when it's efficient and when it's not, I've spoke to the manager a few times about this and it doesn't seem like anything's changed. I like to give people a chance, but I think this is a loss cause So I now go to La Cañada sprouts. Going there well it's a whole completely different experience! It's a bright atmosphere not like the dingy Monrovia store, The store is very efficient. People are ready to help you anyway they can! The sandwich counter moves like the Ford Motor Company one sandwich after another moving right off the conveyor belt fast and efficient! Tons of space for parking, etc. so I think you get the I won't be going to Monrovia location in the future. I think a business should be rewarded with your business if they're doing a great job! And all of these things at the Monrovia Location can be fixed easily.Get a new manager, hire more people that really want a job and are motivated.
