Valley Cafe has become of my favorite spots to get some work done recently. I've been ordering a Jasmine milk tea with like 10% sweetness and their veggie croissant, and it's been enough to power me through a work session. The owner is always so sweet and lets me customize my sandwich and drink, so that it's to my liking. They do have alternative milks and lactose free creamer so even if you're vegan, there will be a drink for you. The food options are vegetarian friendly. She also shared her story with me, that it's been tough getting foot traffic to her store, so if you're able to come by and try her tasty croissants and some of their drinks, please consider it! It's never too noisy in Valley Cafe, although they do keep a radio on. They do have WiFi but only one outlet so come with your devices fully charged. I arrived at Valley Cafe (El Monte) on Tuesday (around 12PM). Parking is very easy because the rear lot is big. However, I felt a little uneasy as unfortunate homeless people wandered nearby. Honestly, I felt anxious about approaching this business because it's located in such a worn down area. I am so happy that the positive recommendations were genuine. Staff is very welcoming and hardworking. Staff politely answered all my questions, and Staff gave wonderful recommendations. My drink took four minutes and 19 seconds. Good time! As mentioned, I ordered the Pandan Cream Coffee Latte ($7 - 24oz - Iced). It's DELICIOUS and HUGE! It perfectly balances utility and flavor. I embraced its loving caffeine. And I happily enjoyed the silky, chill brew. I love how the flavor of fresh coffee shines while also delivering such a delectable pandan, nutty flavor. It's one of the best! On ambiance, Valley Cafe (El Monte) has some utility. There's customer internet with password; customers must ask Staff for the details. However, there's only one electrical outlet near a tall counter. Fortunately, there's a gender neutral restroom for customers in the back. Valley Cafe (El Monte) is also very clean. The floors sparkled! And the location is small, but it's comfy. There's about four tables and one counter. Light upbeat music played. Overall, I am humbled by Valley Cafe (El Monte). It's a perfect textbook example of "Don't judge a book by its cover." There's passion and sincere care within this establishment. The coffee is also phenomenal. Valley Cafe is a new coffee shop in El Monte. The owner is a very sweet and friendly lady. The shop has a joyous and bright decor. The menu includes; various assortment of cold coffee series, milk tea series, matcha series, fruit tea series, fresh juice, and many delicious items for breakfast and lunch. We ordered the following: -Large Banana Matcha Latte 5/5 The drink was creamy, rich with sweet and silky banana cold foam. It was such an excellent drink. - Large Pandan Cream Coffee Latte 5/5 It had a well balanced flavor between a strong espresso a fragrant taste of pandan. I really enjoyed every sip of this drink. Had to check out this new cafe that took over EZ Sweet recently. Since its still soft opening they have boba teas and, coffee, but the owner said they will be introducing smoothies and sandwiches soon! The owner was very sweet and explained everything on the menu. Theres a good amount of seating and lots of parking in the public lot behind it. I loved the brown sugar milk tea it was honestly perfect and nostalgic and the boba texture was good! Ambiance: cute, bright, mom and pop vibes. Very tidy and clean. The owner is working the front and super-sweet and welcoming. Perfect place to bring a book and unwind or bring the family for a treat. They're in a good older building, so it's nice and quiet inside considering it's next to a busy street. Drink recommendation: For more adventurous types I recommend the sesame matcha. It's nutty but still has that good matcha neutrality. Would recommend regular milk for rich fatty flavor. I visited this locatio a few times when it was previously EZ Sweet and it was only recently that I found out it's under a brand new owner and name. On the inside, it looked pretty much how it was under the previous owner which meant things like some board games and the like were still around. It's looking a little bit bare at the moment and I'm hoping the owner will eventually get around giving it a cozier atmosphere. There's plenty of seating, including a small booth in front of the window, so the location is fine for small groups. There's also a restroom in the back for customers. This review is based on my second visit here and l decided to try out their croissant sandwiches since some of the other reviewers seemed to like it. I initially wanted to get their BLT sandwich, but the owner mentioned that there's a roast beef option available and I changed it to that. I'm not that big of a boba drinker, but I paired it with a vanilla milk tea boba (small). There's a bit of a wait since I believe it's just the owner managing the store, but once I got my order and started eating it a little while later, I'll have to say it was pretty good. I'd still like to try their BLT option, but I don't think you can go wrong going roast beef for the meat. As an aside, I was asked if I'd like some jalapeños on it, so if you want it a tad spicy, you've got the option there. For the vanilla milk tea boba, I believe the owner said she went light on the dairy which I had no problem with. It was overall a little too sweet for me, but aside from that, I found it acceptable. I'll keep trying their other drinks in the meantime. As a closing note, their business card doubles as a point card on the back where after 10 drinks you'll get your next one for free. This is pretty similar to the other local boba places nearby, so don't forget to bring it with you when you visit. read more
