We were torn on if we should rent bikes on the main land or once on Madeline Island. After looking at the price point of each, it seemed easier and cheaper to rent on the island. So we called the day before. The girl I spoke with said they had plenty of bikes, so there was no need to make a reservation. I did anyway and BOY! was I glad we did. When we got off the fairy at 10:30 and walked over the line was at least 15 parties long! My husband asked if we had a reservation did we still need to wait in the line. Once they heard we had a reservation, we were quickly approached an on our way in less than 5 minutes! We rented for the whole day. We rode the 6miles to Big Bay. Hiked about 4.5 miles and then realized, oh boy we need to ride back. My kids are very active so I thought they could handle this... well my 10 yo wanted to quit half way back. There really isn't anywhere to stop and rest, so I guess make sure everyone in your party is up for the ride. The return was quick and easy. Overall, great experience and no hassle! Nice job!

Since they're pretty much the only joint in town, I suppose they could charge more. It's $10 an hour, and they go by one hour minimum, and then each 15 min increment. (Worst case, $36 per day per bike). They're very close to the ferry, probably only 1/4 block. We had wanted to tour the island, but someone (me) was very out of shape and forgot to account for hills we don't have in Chicago. I wish the workers explained how far things are around the island. I almost gave up half way though, which really would have been bad since you're pretty much in the middle of nowhere and I would have been stuck. But then I heard a snake (husband swears I was just deliriously tired, he didn't hear anything) but IT WAS THERE. Regardless, I got back on the bike. Fun tip: If you take Old Fort Road North, you ride down a huge hill where you get up to 40 mph. From that hill, you can coast all the way back to the shop. They also rent mopeds!

The only reason not 5 stars is we Did not feel too welcomed when we first walked in the store. The guy finally warmed up after we were there a bit and asking questions. The bikes were great, we had a great time! read more
We took the ferry over and rented two bikes. The checkout process was very fast. The bikes are Treks. There were plenty of rentals available on the Wednesday we went. They also rent mopeds and ebikes. We rode to both parked. There is a couple mile boardwalk that connects the two parks that parallels the beach. There are two flights of stairs you need to carry bike up once you reach the town park. read more
Our absolute favorite part of the trip to Madeline Island was riding the mopeds!! The staff was helpful and took time to show us how to navigate the island, the price was fair and we even said multiple times that we'd pay much more the experience it was that great. Definitely recommend for families or couples looking to see more of beautiful Madeline! read more

Rented a bike for $36 for several hours! If you're not going to take your car and are in good enough shape it's a great way to see part of the island. Plus the Island is pretty flat and it's a speed bike, so if you're willing to peddle hard, you can coast for a while. I was able to go up to the state park and see things around town in about a half a day. Great customer service! The attendant showed me two different routes, so my ride there and back was varied. They do make you leave either a cc or an ID for collateral. And most of the roads just have a narrow bike lane, so if you're Leary of traffic, this might not be for you. read more

Outstanding experiencce renting scooters! Orientation was thorough, scooters operated well, whole process very efficient. Many thanks to manager who literally found me on the island and returned my phone--I had accidentally left in the compartment of the scooter:) Above and beyond and appreciated! read more
Harley fans would scoff But for pansies like this guy: Both my thumbs are up I've never been a motorcycle guy and can't imagine that I ever will be. Lacking balls as I do, though, mopeds are the next best thing. Motion To Go rents bikes and mopeds. Got there about 5:30 PM on Saturday. $25.00 per hour for a moped rental. Worth it! I had driven a moped only once before about five years ago in Key West. Given a brief ten-minute tutorial, and then the rubber met the road. Super fun at max speed of 40 miles per hour. They were closing at 7PM so I was told to have it back by ten to which gave me about ten minutes of free bonus time. Still felt time crunched. Two hours would be plenty sufficient, I imagine. Managed to hit both of the parks on the Island, but it was kind of like the Griswold visit at the Grand Canyon. No time to look around. Staff was extremely friendly and appreciative of the business. I will repeat on my third visit to Madeline Island, for sure. read more

Had a lovely time on Madeline Island, we rented bikes from noon - 5:30 and were able to go to the state park (Big Bay). The staff here recommended we go cliff jumping and it was super fun - chilly but very refreshing! read more

We walked in here one afternoon and were given everything we needed right away. The young female associate who helped us walked us through everything so we didn't have too many questions. She also did the quick lesson before you take off and made us feel comfortable as none of us had ever ridden mopeds before (there were 4 of us). She also had some tips for us and where to ride around to see some pretty sights. Once we came back, another gentleman who I assume was the owner was friendly and wanted to make sure we had a good time. I would also say the price wasn't overpriced and definitely fitting for what you get. Helmets supplied, but eye protection is needed (sunglasses or regular glasses will do) - so remember that if you're planning to ride with them! It was a fun experience on Madeline Island and a good first moped excursion! read more

Bikes are a great way to get around the island! We rented bikes to get to Big Bay State Park. The woman who rented the bikes to us was really nice and informative and provided us with a map highlighting the best routes. Also, I really appreciated their precautions with the virus. The bikes seemed like they were in great shape. Gears shifted well...perfect for a relaxing ride. read more

Rental place was good, young guys that helped us were super nice. The young gal that works there is very rude and a total know it all.

We made a last minute decision to rent two bikes and explore the island. We are so glad we did since the scenery and suggested route was terrific. The quick tutorials were also welcomed. The best, though, comes with how we were treated. After discovering we left some items back at their shop and were on our way back to Bayfield, we called and asked if they could send it to us. Rather than that, Sadie brought it down to the next ferry for special delivery. Her gesture was so kind and appreciated. Thanks guys for a great day and great customer service. read more

This was the worst customer service I've ever had! The girl working said there was a weight limit to me and my girlfriends. They accused us of lying about not drinking. It was 10 am. They proceeded to tell us about the horrible accidents that happen with the mopeds. They were extremely snotty and condescending when teaching us to ride the mopeds. Asked us if we were even paying attention. I ended up not even taking one because of the girl showing us how. Would not recommend!! read more

My wife and I rented 2 mopeds for the day on Madeline Island. The staff was courteous and informative. They made sure the safety checks were in place and that we felt comfortable before leaving. We drove to the state and county parks, hiked, took pictures and had a blast. Their equipment was flawless and the return was easy and problem free. I would recommend this company for future rentals! read more

If there was a no star rating this business would receive it for service customer contact and professionalism! My husband and I traveled 10 hours to enjoy the area attractions! We called this business yesterday at 4 PM to come rent a moped and see the beach. The young girl stated that they closed at 7 and last rent at 5:45. No problem... We thought about taking our car over but thought this would be a wonderful and fun to ride to the beach. n After taking the ferry over an paying 26.00, we were told they were closing early. we explained our call and promise to use the cycles or we would have brought our car. The young man said the manager told him to close early. Then, we mentioned we had one hour to ride and still be back for the early closing and the sales person he could not rent to us for an hour. He mentioned paying 60.00 for 45 minutes... WHAT????? We are 56 years old and came all this way to be treated this way. Called to day and asked to have the owner call me back and he never did. They said he was in town. Chamber of Comemerace was disappointed too but seemed clueless on what to do in the future. So moral of the story....DON'T RENT from them.. PRICEY, RUDE, UNDEPENDABLE. Drive your car over for half the cost!!!!!! read more
