The services is fairly small, but it does offer the usual offering you'd expect from Welcome Break including Starbucks, Burger King, KFC and WHSmith. It also offers a Waitrose and Days Inn Hotel on the Southbound side, with the Northbound having the strangest Starbucks drive-thru I've seen, which appeared to literally just be a Drive-thru with no indoor area for customers. It isn't the most visually attractive inside and is mostly compact. I visited the Northbound Services. As it was late into the evening when I visited, most of the facilities were closed, and they were just doing the legal requirements of offering an indoor rest area with a shop offering a coffee machine. The toilets were in a disgusting state, due to "renovations" the toilets were closed at the time of my visit, and they used outside port-a-loos, I would say if you're visiting the Northbound Services at this time, you'd be better off heading via the footbridge to the Southbound services. 3* - Served its' purpose for me in the late evening for a quick place to stop off on route and charge the electric car, a reasonable service station, nothing special. It would have been really handy to have the Starbucks and food outlets opened a little later though, as most seem to wind down around 9 to 10 pm.

Only the Starbucks, whsmith, and burger King were open, (and the place to gamble), all standards overpriced. My main irk, most disgusting toilets I've ever set foot in, 4 attempts to find one with a lock, wee wet floors and a new sight for me, leaking sanitary bins, absolutely stinking. Apparently the gents were "okay". 162.7 for petrol, ouch.

Apart from the hotel, there is also a Spa, Club, Gym and Play area for the kids, its like a smaller version of a wacky warehouse called Woodys, its a lot airier and modern, with big glass windows! The inside play area is more for the under 5's but they also have a large park outside for the older kids. The staff are helpful and friendly, and they also have an offer at the moment for Parent and Toddlers from 11.30 -2.00pm you can get a free hot drink if you stay and play.

I visited recently with my family to have a Sunday meal in the Hotel Restaurant and it was awesome! We met up in the Conservatory first then made our way to the restaurant. We were shown the menu and there was an excellent choice of starters, main courses and desserts - something for everyone! The staff are very friendly and professional and the table service was excellent. From ordering our food to having it served at the table was very quick and the food was hot and delicious. We didn't feel pressured or rushed to finish, it didn't matter how much noise we made (within reason!), there were strains of happy birthdays being sung around the room at other tables! Well worth the price, which I think was £15 for a three course meal served to you at the table (we were with family members who paid for the party, so not 100% sure of the price). Definitely worth a visit for a Sunday lunch! Highly recommended.

I was apprehensive about booking this hotel at first though Ive read and reread the reviews because…read moreI grew up 5o yards from there and hotels on that road didnt have a good reputation. But whilst talking to someone after Leeds West Indian Carnival he recommended the hotel. 'you know the owners. They used to own that delicatessen near your house.' that did it. I temebered the nice couple whohsed to serve Goyer cheese and salami. I also got my favourite polish caramel sweets from there. So i booked and got a lift there within half hour. They were welcoming and as friendly as I remembered them from 1972. Booking in was so good My bags were carried upstairs and i was wished good night. I watched tv for half an hour then settled in the cosy bed with pretty flowered bedding. I slept through till 7. A rarity for me. I felt at home.Breakfast at 8.30 was a wonderful experience in a spacious restaurant. I had a spoonful of each cereal and the milk was brought in a small jug. Personal service making me feel special. Toast was brought in on a plate and tea in a teapot. My breakfast was well cooked and on an oval plate.they asked if everything was ok, did I need anything else. I was even offered another pot of tea in case the other was cold. They took time to have a conversation when I said I used to buy ham salami and cheese from them. I Mentioned my favourite sweets too. I then went back to bed for half an hour. The other staff were as friendly as the owners. They allowed me to watch tv and charge my phone in the lounge though it was past checking out time. Everyone was So calm and relaxed. And someone even send them some flowers. All in all it was a wonderful experience and i can't wait to-do it again.
