I initially thought it might just be an aging coolant issue, but I didn't want to keep driving it and risk turning a cooling-system problem into an engine problem. Their technicians inspected the heating and coolant system rather than simply topping off the reservoir and sending me home. They found that the coolant level was low and traced the issue to a leak that needed attention. They also checked the hoses and other components of the cooling system and explained what they found before doing the repair. I appreciated that because I wanted to understand why the temperature had been fluctuating instead of just being handed a repair bill. While they had the vehicle, they also checked the heater operation because I'd noticed that the cabin heat wasn't getting as warm as it normally did. The technician explained how the coolant system affects both engine temperature and the vehicle's heating system, which helped everything make much more sense. After the repair and coolant service, the temperature gauge stayed exactly where it should during both stop-and-go D.C. traffic and longer drives. The heater also returned to normal operation. I love that they didn't immediately recommend replacing expensive parts. They inspected the system, identified the actual problem, explained the repair, and then verified that everything was operating properly afterward. That's exactly the kind of approach I want from an auto repair shop. Plus, everyone was professional throughout the visit, and the technicians clearly knew what they were doing - very reassuring!

Honest estimates, great service. Very efficient and always professional. This place is a gem.read more

I needed some major braking repairs done, so I started looking for a new mechanic shop. I found a lot of body shops online that I planned on visiting. Autocare Services, was the first body shop I planned on visiting. Needless to say that after visiting Autocare Services, I came away very impressed and did not visit any other mechanic shops. The mechanic Steve at Autocare Services goes out of his way for the customers. In a matter of minutes Steve was able to tell me what I needed repaired and let me know that my old body shop did not go a good job on my previous repairs. Additionally, Steve made sure that I was getting the best parts at reasonable price ( on a college student budget). The mechanic steve was a able to repair my disc break rotor (rear), disc break caliper (front) and suspension struts. The end result was an impeccably done repair. Job well done!!! (he even fixed a minor trunk problem in my car I presented to him later on at no cost). They fixed my car quickly and with quality. I would absolutely recommend, and this is where I will go from now on for my car's repairs. Great service and quality all the way through.

I had gotten my a/c fixed here and my tire pressure sensor so I trusted them to replace the oil…read morepressure sensor even tho I was still having issues with my tire pressure sensor I knew they warrantied it and Andy was a nice guy so I had trust. I shouldn't have. I drop my car off in October. Oil pressure sensor, manifold was replaced. I pick up the vehicle drive 8 miles home and it stops working. Starts making a loud noise. I call Andy he's responsive tows the Jeep back to him. Calls days later I need new lifters. I'm confused cause I just replaced them. I call the dealer. Send the tech my video. They inform me they only did the one side but said "any smart mechanic knows you need oils to lubricate the lifters". I'm confused which will be worked out later but call Andy approve the work. He calls back "we can't stop your engine from knocking you're going to need a engine Jeep engines are just crap". I'm FLOORED cause that engine was not giving me any problems. He calls back with prices that are way more then every other estimate I got but the dealer. Then tells me the engine is on back order but he can get it and will discount the $1800 I've already paid but that still put me into a $6500-$7500 price range for an engine. Additionally because they had to get a used engine they wouldn't warranty their work. WHAT! I lose trust plus I'm buying a house all my money is tied up and my credit cards so I have my car towed from the shop. We're now in November. Andy goes through a holiday and explains to me how during dinner conversations his family is telling him how he shouldn't give me a discount for the engine and he's so nice. Well at the gives me a full refund when I pick up my car and now I know why he was so willing. When they replaced my oil pressure sensor and manifold and gave me my cat Brandon didn't do the oil change. My vehicle was bone dry no oil. When I picked up the vehicle Brandon was a bit distracted with his conversation to his peer about a date and "what women brought to the table" I lie to you not cause I was a bit uncomfortable in the waiting area able to hear this but I wanted my car. When I drove the 8 miles home I blew the lifters because NO OIL like the dealer cryptically said "any mechanic knows oil lubricates the lifters". I didn't get it. A repair estimated around $700 ended up costing me $6000 due to negligence not on my part. I'm disappointed cause I thought I was really going to like this shop. He's the first person to touch my Jeep that wasn't the dealer. I had new lifters and new transmission and their negligence cost me way more than what I paid for the engine. I had to rent a car for over a month. I'm almost out $10k due to their error and all they said was sorry heres your money back.

I'll begin w/a summary and then provide more detail. Summary: This company is A+ rated in my mind…read morefor service, price, quality of work and most importantly, being completely trustworthy. Detail: I've found some really good mechanics in the area. If I feel I might be taken advantage of or given the special "upcharge" that some of us women feel we're assessed, I won't even work with them. Where I think Anthony's Mechanic Svcs might exceed the others is how much he tried working w/me on a solution, didn't nickel and dime me for every single thing required to complete the repair (as some other places have done - ahem, I'm looking at you Lexus dealership) and was scrupulously honest. I took a very old, 2004 car (it is 2021 right now) with some seriously rusty bolts that the other mechanic could just not get off. They were so rusty, they appeared welded onto the frame. He referred me to Anthony and said "you can trust him, I refer a lot of people to him." He took off my radiator (by the way, please know the radiator removal was painstakingly arduous and he really used every tool in his toolbox and tried to muscle his way through them - I'm convinced most mechanics would have stopped and given up and I would have had to finally say good bye to my car) and then realized there was another significant problem which required another part. He called 3 other stores to compare so we could procure one from the parts store w/the most favorable rate RIGHT in FRONT of me. He wasn't looking to upcharge me on the parts - he just wanted to get me the part ASAP so I could get back home. This is clearly a neighborhood business and because I spent so much time there, I was able to observe the camaraderie he had w/many of his clients. This is a local business that is familiar w/their customers and ensures they are providing top notch service. It felt so good to be supporting a local business like this. Prices are very competitive. In terms of value w/the excellent work, svc and cost, I think it would be challenging to find a better company. Here are some considerations that I should mention upfront: -This is a very bare basic kind of place in terms of decor and cleanliness. In fact, I spent most of my time waiting in my car or outside. They do have a very small waiting area in their office but I suspect few people sit in the area designated for waiting. However that's okay - I don't need multiple huge fancy screens, muffins and coffee as the dealership offers as I sure did end up paying for those in my bill indirectly. -Payment: Preferred payment is through something like Paypal, maybe Venmo - not credit card. If you're looking for a place that knows what they are doing, will do so at a favorable rate and as mentioned, will be honest in their assessment, this place is DEFINITELY worth evaluating. p.s. even though they are incredibly busy, there is no office "staff", he found the time to call to check in on how my car was doing the next day. Another example of great customer service.
