My friends and I were on a girls trip to Paris so we decided take in the show at the famous Moulin Rouge. We purchased tickets for the late show which included a half bottle of wine or champagne for each person. The line to get into the auditorium was very very long as there were so many people waiting to be seated. We had to enter the building wait up the stairs, wrap around the room and then the line continued back down the stairs and finally the main entrance room of the auditorium. All in all I believe we waited around 30 to 40 minutes just to get to our seats. By the time we finally got in we were seated in the very last row of the auditorium. There were three of us and we were seated at a table with three other people. There was absolutely no space between the tables and your chair butted up against the chair of the person behind you. You literally could not push your chair out or in either direction.Additionally the table was positioned so you did not face the stage rather you had to turn your body sideways and your neck sideways to be able to watch the show. So for a comfort level for a 2+ hour show it was not great at all. People were Packed in like sardines. Now The show itself was pretty good. There were a few numbers that were a little cheesy such as when all the girls came out dressed as circus clowns and another one where they were wearing 90s style wigs and sang American disco songs. There was also an act in which a large glass pool appeared from under the stage with giant snakes in it and one of the performers dived into it and she swam around with the snakes. Odd, but to each his own. Other than that the traditional Vegas style numbers were excellent. The costumes were amazing, the girls gorgeous of course and the men pretty good looking too! The girls were topless so if you're offended by that then you definitely should stay away.There were some very talented acts such as the two men who showed their strength by balancing and lifting each other with their bodies and the couple that did a rolling skating act. The wine was delicious so all in all we had a pretty fun time. I'm glad that I went as this was my second trip to Paris and I did not go the first time so now I can say that I've been to a show there but I probably would not need to repeat it. So disappointed. I wanted to come here my entire life. Starts with a long line. Seated in the very back - cramped. I can deal with that - comedy shows are like that! The servers and escorts were very rude. They are French - so, nothing new there. But, then the show. It was so dated...the dancing was tired and dated...the music meh - just awful. We finally left. It's like the entire show is there to objectify women and have them prance around topless. That would be okay if they performed something interesting. It's not even like I felt like I was going back in time. Went to Maxim's last night and that was going back in time in a good way with an outstanding performance. I would definitely skip this if you are with any younger people or women - my 21 year old daughter was rolling her eyes at the second set. We finally made it to the famous Moulin Rouge thanks to Trafalgar Tours and I personally think it was worth the ride! The entrance to this place was very interesting and done up well. Our group of approx 40 were seated immediately and even though the placed was packed the staff were on top of everything. The seating was a bit cramped and the table placements were very congested with not much room too move. For starters we were served a smoked salmon which was deelish and fresh, for the main course Hovi ordered the Fish and mixed seafood in a creamy sauce (yes she was feeling adventurous) and said it tasted "interesting"! I had the Steak with potatoes with a gravy and it was very good! Dessert was the same for everyone and since I don't have a sweet tooth the Mrs polished my share off too and loved it lol! The show started at 9 pm sharp and it was really good and done in good taste. It was different from the Las Vegas productions but still fun to watch! As we were leaving a crowd was lined up outside for the next show! All in all we all had a good time and YES I would definitely recommend this experience to my fellow YELPERS as a once in a lifetime go to show! We asked a nearby waiter for assistance, he replied give me a minute , then that jerk disappeared. The insulting service ruined the show. Avoid this dump, they don't care about you at all. read more

For those wanting to immerse themselves in the history and experience, there is more than just the show. Across from the Moulin Rouge is a photo taking area (where I took the photo). It's busy during the touristy months and lunch time. It would be a better view later in the evening when it's all lit up. They still have the cafe atop the Moulin Rouge. They offer a lunch with unlimited mimosas and wine. It was reasonably priced and had munchies for the kiddies. The rooftop is fabulous. A true Parisian paradise! If you're looking at the Moulin Rouge, you'll take the side street to the left to enter. Not even a block down you'll see a set of stairs to the right. Go up and you'll be atop the Moulin Rouge. You can make reservations through their website online. The official Moulin Rouge store can also be difficult to find (and a bit pricey). This last trip to Paris, I had to go to a show at Moulin Rouge, HAD TO DO IT! Not many people talk about the line before the show, but let's just say, its bad, no rhyme or reason, maybe they should get line management skills from Disneyland haha. Once inside the Moulin Rouge, the showroom is impressive, the servers are dressed nicely. We did the 11pm show with champagne for 109 euros each. Another thing I noticed was that a dress code isn't enforced, I saw people in jeans, t-shirts, tennis all the way to people decked out to the nines. So the show, I got to see the French Cancan, and the interlude acts were great!! The costumes were nicely done, saw some head pieces I'd like to rock haha. The show goes nonstop for 2 hours, and that's lot of dancing. Some of skits are very dated, and I don't I just expected more, it wasn't as va va voom as expecting, it's like a Vegas show that has been retired and is now performing on cruise ships. But I did enjoy myself, it was a treat to see the show at the Moulin Rouge. And I know when I am back in Paris I will flock to the windmill of the Moulin Rouge to snap a selfie. read more

Visit Date: March 19, 2015 Personally I would have been happy with just glancing at the Moulin Rouge but my husband suggested we see the show. The hysterical part is that he didn't know the show featured topless dancers when he suggested seeing it. I knew it though. Tickets are expensive and be aware if you don't buy tickets including drinks I'm not sure how you will get a drink. I opted to buy the tickets that didn't include drinks and when we got there we wanted champagne but no one would serve it to us. They either forgot about us or they don't serve you if you're ticket is a non drink ticket. I'm not sure if you can get drinks at a bar or not, but when you're watching the show you don't really want to get up and go find drinks. The show itself is okay there's a lot of wow and some amazing dancing and costumes but one performance was funny but a little boring to me. The roller skating couple wowed me, the lady dancing in the water with live snakes wowed me, but the short comedian who picked people from the audience made me laugh but also bored me. I bought an XL shirt as a souvenir but European sizing is smaller than American Sizing so when I got home it was a little too tight for me. I'm going to see if I can eventually fit into it but I might end up selling it. So if you are going to buy a souvenir shirt here go a size bigger. People might say this place or the show is cheesy or lame, but my husband and I came to the late show during our first trip to Paris last month and we had a really great time. We didn't do the dinner, just the show. There was a little bit of a wait to get into the venue and to get seated but that is to be expected with seating a large crowd. There was sort of an "Around the World" theme to the show we saw with different international costumes. Some acts were truly awe-inspiring, like the roller skaters. We were at a small table in the upper section and we shared the space with another couple. So, if you are a small party, expect to share your table. Music, costumes, sets, etc were all really cool and yes, there was some toplessness and there were some live animals in the show. It's all color, sparkle, feathers, and rhinestones and they even did the famous Can-Can dance. Overall, I think it's really worth a visit to this historic venue and I think you'll really have a fun time. read more

We went early December just because were in Paris. We purchased the 1100 showing with champagne. We did not have to wait outside in the cold and the wait was only around 20 mins, we were pleasantly surprised as we were seated close to the stage. However, they seat you with two other couples and it's really close quarters. The show was good, didn't really get the story line because it was in French. Overall, it was good to go once and that's it. I would recommend the 1100 show as it was the last show and it's cheaper. Any seat in the theatre would have been ok, I don't think it would be worth getting priority seating. read more

My girlfriend and I simply had to see a show here. Even though the Moulin Rouge is not in the best part of town, the 18th Aridonnsment, we still went. It was a super easy Uber ride from our hotel. The show cost us about 100 Euros a piece, about 120 dollars and came with two small bottles of champagne. The atmosphere was just as we expected. Very colorful and French. We absolutely loved it. I debated a four star rating as they packed us in a little tight but the dozens of beautiful topless women dancing around cheered my right back into a five star rating. Ok I was super super excited to be in Paris and not just see the Moulin Rouge but to also experience this Iconic Place! Yes this place was a little pricy but OMG it was totally worth the experience. Here are some tips about this place. 1. Print out your tickets or else go to the box office and get them printed. They don't like using the ticket off your phone. 2. The Dinner is delicious and very French. If you by chance do not drink or will be seated with a group where someone doesn't drink do not tell the staff until after they bring your Champagne!!! Again do not say anything till after you are served your champagne. If you do they will bring you a smaller bottle of champagne and serve the other individual the soda of their choice. Which sucks because you basically paid for an expensive Champagne and than you get a smaller bottle since you are not sharing. 3. Expect some topless tasteful nudity, I forgot the girls were topless 2 songs in! Lol! Also the men probably need a little work on being on step but you can see pass that. 4. If this is the only review you read before seeing Moulin Rouge...let's make it one worth reading. I've seen the movie Moulin Rouge. I don't know the history of the show, other than it's a cabaret and it's been around for a really long time. Shoot me if I'm ignorant in my review. Dance meets circus meets average singing and overall disappointment. It was weird. Dated. Over-priced. I believe my ticket was $185US with a guaranteed seat and half bottle of champagne. I went for it because well, hey, I'm in Paris and it's what you're supposed to do as a tourist. I left wondering what the experience would've been like on mushrooms. Bright costumes were cool (IMO the best part). Impressive how quickly dancers would change and be back on stage in yet another elaborate, colorful piece of attire. Literally all of the dancers had the same exact nipple size, which also tripped me out. Hands down, the best part of this show was the woman swimming with the huge ass snake, that I'm pretty sure could've swallowed her whole. WHOA. Never seen anything like it. That said, the songs were old, not relevant and really just strange. The male lead was uncomfortable to watch (I'm not really sure why, his on-stage personality was just odd). I really think this show needs an overhaul to engage the audience of today. read more

11:30 p.m. show on a Thursday night in October 3rr 2019. if you pay for VIP ticket do not let the door man tell you it is a regular ticket as they tried to do with us and made us wait like cattle with the less expensive tickets. the additional money paid for the VIP tickets comes with certain privileges. Thankfully one of the senior ushers took the time to read our tickets and treated us properly. Careful with the meat heads at the door they don't know much. My husband and I went to the 11PM show with champagne. I was a little skeptical going to a cabaret show. I expected a lot of nudity and not a lot of content. However, it was much more than that. I was thoroughly entertained by the show. Yes, there was an almost constant parade of partially nude women, but I liked the actual entertainment. My husband was not as impressed as I was with the entertainment, but we both enjoyed the champagne. We received a bottle to share while we watched the show. The entrance to the show took a long time and my feet in heels were definitely sore, so wear comfortable shoes. The show was expensive, but in my opinion, worth it. We attended the Féerie show at 11pm and we chose the Champagne & Show tickets which I believe is the best option. We were happy to be seated right next to the stage. The show itself was incredible! I don't want to spoil any surprises, but I will advise you that it is definitely worth the cost of the tickets! The show is so much more than a cabaret show (which would be incredible on it's own) and we left very impressed. My only complaint is that you're advised to arrive 30 minutes early, are lined up in lines that do not make sense, and then they open the rope and it is a stampede to enter. I was pushed into a pole by the crowd and ended up with a large, nasty bump and bruise on my leg. There needs to be more organization with the line-ups. read more

Overrated but still entertaining. It feels a little like a Las Vegas burlesque show but is trying to be a little classy. There's a mixture of singing, dancing, and circus acts. The female performers are topless about 40% of the time but it's not really distracting in either a good or bad way. The quality of the singing and dancing is ok and most of the songs are in French. There are a LOT of performers and during the numbers when they're all on stage together is pretty extraordinary. In addition to the traditional singing and dancing there's a pole dancer, juggler, a contortionist, and a woman who jumps in a pool of water and performs with a giant snake. All of this put together seems kind of random at times. It's all can be a little cheesy but overall is still very entertaining. The worst part of the experience is the line system. It's inefficient, confusing and definitely needs work. You first enter a line where you scan your ticket to get in. Once you get through that line you go into a large interior room which splits into multiple lines only to merge back into one line again. This new single line gets you just outside of the doors of the theater room where you have to wait for a staff member to pick a seat for you and escort you there. The show is advertised as 2 hours but even showing up early, the whole line experience took about an hour. So the actual run time of the show only about 1 hour which makes the show a little expensive for what you get. read more

Yikes! This legendary establishment has so much potential but sadly, between the severely outdated music, tacky set design and seemingly low budget costumes, there's a whole lot of cringe throughout the entire performance. I along with others were in disbelief at the poor quality of the show. They make a lot of money with multiple nightly shows and it's clear that they aren't reinvesting the money into the production of this show at all. It is though they haven't updated the costumes, music, dances and technology for since the 1970's. It's like a bad ABBA-styled cliche nightmare. Fortunately, it was so cringey, it was funny, so I did laugh quietly quite a bit with others. There is no set theme, and the choreography and pace of the show is bizarre. The live animals add nothing to the show except for feeling so sorry for them that they have to be subject to the loud and bright spectacle. The performers don't seem to be truly enjoying themselves. There's some talent there; including the roller skaters and the strength/stilts performance and the women are beautiful but other than that, it is extremely overpriced and leaves you wondering why the magic of Paris isn't encapsulated in this show whatsoever. I was so embarrassed for the performers and I hope they hire new production staff and make this truly world class and bring it to the 21st century. It needs a lot of work and should be re-transformed into what it deserves to be. You're better off taking a photo of the outside and not wasting your time or money. read more

We went out and bought new outfits and even new shoes, as their website says they don't want you to wear any sensible shoes. Just got notice they cancelled our show. Wow. I am surprised by some of the low reviews. Perhaps it's because my expectations for Moulin Rouge was not that high to begin with. I expected the show to be very much like a Las Vegas show - very popular, over priced, touristy, and incredibly cheesy. But this show exceeded my expectations BY FAR. Here is the run down: RESERVATIONS It is indeed a pricey ticket. However, it is on par with any other theatre event that I have been to. I'm actually surprised it wasn't more expensive (not that I am complaining). From reviews, I decided to opt out of the dinner and just do the show. I went to Chez Toinette prior to the show for dinner instead which was 2 blocks or so from the theatre. I would purchase tickets as soon as you know you are going. I initially planned to go to the earlier show but within a few days, they were sold out and I had to go at a later time. The metro's had closed by the show ending and it was difficult to get an affordable uber from that part of town. It did not strike me as a safe neighborhood - so not really the best place to be dressed up after midnight. But I digress...bottom line, do the earlier show. lol SERVICE My only complaint is the cattle call way we had to enter the theatre. We entered into the building next store, had to stand and wait forever, then they moved the line into the building with the theatre - where we had to wait in line for awhile again. It was a little frustrating. Before the show, you receive a bottle of champagne and a photographer visits your table to snap a photo. You can purchase the photo later on, which they give to you on the spot (bring cash). I wish they allowed you to order drinks, but they do not (if they did, then it went over my head). THE THEATRE The theatre is probably the most beautiful theatre I have ever been in. I absolutely love the ambiance. At the same time, it is not too large. I am pretty sure every seat in the house can clearly see the stage. The theatre was surrounded by red curtains, it was very trendy but classy and classic. Everyone was dressed to the 9s. Very swanky. No photos are allowed to be taken once in the theatre. However, you can get some great shots of the Moulin Rouge sign and windmill outside before the show in the medium strip. THE SHOW Impeccable. Absolutely wowed! I didn't even notice the women were topless because the costumes were just so elaborate and bright. What I remember most is nothing but bright colors and costumes that seemed to fill the stage. Most of the show was in French, but that did not take away from the experience even though I do not speak French. I really admired the confidence of some of the women - it could never be me! lol. In between sets, they had other entertainment such as professional, trick roller skaters - an acrobat - and a ventriloquist. Normally, if someone told me about these intermittent acts, I'd probably say "sounds like cheesy Vegas" but without any exaggeration, even these acts were amazing. These are some very very talented folks. Hands down. I loved every minute of the evening and I was not even expecting as much! I would put Moulin Rouge as a Paris must do! Important note: THIS IS NOT LIKE THE FILM. Because this is a historical show, I am shocked by the number of folks who thought it would mimic the movie. The show absolutely was fantastic, no disappointment there. Probably the best show on the planet from the top performers in their field! The food was just mediocre and the service was the worst I've had in my 50 years on this planet. I asked for bottled water, then 10 minutes later had to ask again. They brought tap water instead of bottled like I asked for. Then we asked for another piece of bread. Twice. Nope, no service. Then (god forbid) I asked for water several times. Nothing. Then a bunch of old ladies sat down next to me, ordered champagne, I asked for water at the same time - again! Then, the didn't bring it. This show is a disaster. The entire show felt like a joke played at the literal expense of the audience. It was as if they were making fun of the entire idea of a burlesque. It was full of bad dancing, no real singing, and random and ever present breasts. And that's AFTER we spent an hour standing like cattle in a room before the actual room, standing around with no music no drinks no nothing until they shepherded us through a disaster scenario if a fire broke out through narrow passageways leading to the actual room. Then they proceeded to squeeze us into an impossibly small space that doesn't even face the stage. The show was just an awful spectacle of what could have been a glamorous and wonderous display of talent. When they brought out the juggler, we left. I couldn't take watching this travesty anymore. Now, the roller skating duo and the rings pair were amazing and very talented, well-rehearsed, and had great chemistry, but the rest of the show...every grating moment...was a sickening display of a complete lack of choreographic and directing talent. The singers and dancers weren't great, but they were clearly hobbled by horrible writing and direction. An absolute vacuum of talent and I feel like they've ripped from me any sense of glamour and fantasy that I had about the Moulin Rouge. Show seemingly took a while to get started but once it was good. It presents itself as a risqué musical but truly it positions itself somewhere between a Cirque du Soleil show and a Rockettes show. Costumes we're magnificent. The interlude acts were incredible. The synchronicity of the men was comical. It appears as if the man-loving audience members get cheated as the men don't live up the standards of the women during the performance. The three course dinner was well worth the money since it allows you also to be seated prior to those just coming for the show. And yes the women have their breasts showing throughout most of the show. So if you are very conservative then this may not be the event for you. One time is enough. read more
