This show is a disaster. The entire show felt like a joke played at the literal expense of the audience. It was as if they were making fun of the entire idea of a burlesque. It was full of bad dancing, no real singing, and random and ever present breasts. And that's AFTER we spent an hour standing like cattle in a room before the actual room, standing around with no music no drinks no nothing until they shepherded us through a disaster scenario if a fire broke out through narrow passageways leading to the actual room. Then they proceeded to squeeze us into an impossibly small space that doesn't even face the stage. The show was just an awful spectacle of what could have been a glamorous and wonderous display of talent. When they brought out the juggler, we left. I couldn't take watching this travesty anymore. Now, the roller skating duo and the rings pair were amazing and very talented, well-rehearsed, and had great chemistry, but the rest of the show...every grating moment...was a sickening display of a complete lack of choreographic and directing talent. The singers and dancers weren't great, but they were clearly hobbled by horrible writing and direction. An absolute vacuum of talent and I feel like they've ripped from me any sense of glamour and fantasy that I had about the Moulin Rouge. It is a MUST DO activity when in Paris. Its simply awesome and breath taking. Every min of it is full of surprises and it's exhilarating. Every filler acts in between are marvelous. Show seemingly took a while to get started but once it was good. It presents itself as a risqué musical but truly it positions itself somewhere between a Cirque du Soleil show and a Rockettes show. Costumes we're magnificent. The interlude acts were incredible. The synchronicity of the men was comical. It appears as if the man-loving audience members get cheated as the men don't live up the standards of the women during the performance. The three course dinner was well worth the money since it allows you also to be seated prior to those just coming for the show. And yes the women have their breasts showing throughout most of the show. So if you are very conservative then this may not be the event for you. One time is enough. read more

Cooooool, for my first show in Paris. It's a great way to experience some of Paris' historic shows and see some bewbies at the same time. Note: First, as you walk in, coats must be checked in and they charge you €2 per item. Note the color of your ticket since it is a bitch trying to get your coat on the way out. People trampling all over each other since there is no organized lines or anything. Look at the color of your ticket and go to that respective counter. The show goes on for pretty much for the full 2 hours. And you can either do the dinner and show, champagne and show or just the show itself. I went with the half bottle with the show at €102. It's a pretty decent deal since the show itself is like €90. There's a certain dress code here, but you don't have to get all fancy schmansy either, just dress slightly better than casual wear. And get here at 830pm or even slightly earlier since they need to seat you and it takes awhile for them to seat everyone. And the show starts promptly at 9pm. What a great way to see some bewbies in a somewhat sophisticated fashion. Because I dont know the French songs they were singing, the bewbs definitely helped out with what they were saying. They balance the show between some comedy, some juggling, and some magic in between the different performances. And as for the performances themselves, I have no clue what the main theme was. Maybe it was some sort of traveling theme since there were Indian, Chinese, Japanese and French cultures and dresses throughout the show. There were mini ponies too. The ONLY reason i am not giving 5 stars is because they have you packed in there like sardines, and the woman next to me took up half my seat BUT if you are in the Paris area, YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS SHOW. Not just an amazing group of dancers but other things, so entertaining, had me on the edge of my seat the entire show. They offer dinner options, that I'm happy i did not do, and they also offer drink service at your table, it's pretty much first come first serve for tables and the tickets are pricey, but again, so worth it!!!!! I felt a little under dressed in my jeans and sweater, no pictures allowed inside the show, and is about an hour and a half show from start to finish. Great show !!!! read more

When you come to Paris they say you have to come and watch Moulin Rouge. I say skip it. Its really really really not neccessary. Save your Euros and go to Vegas. The same show can be seen for less money, better dancers, and a better show- with much much better services. Here is my story- we cheapened out. We got the tickets for the show alone. No champagne, no fanciness. 99 euros a pop none the less. What does 99 euros get you??? Last row seats. Rude wait staff and no one ever coming by our table to ask us if we would like to order any drinks. Not once. Awful. The show- choreographed in the early 90's and probably has remained the same. The costumes were unimpressive as some of them were falling apart while the numbers were going about. The acts needs serious updating. The dancing needs to be tighter- half of the dancers seemed to be uninterested and out of sync. The lip synching is obvious and they make no qualms about trying to hide it otherwise. Save your money. When in Rome...oh wait wrong location.... I feel like this is one of those cliche things you almost have to do when you're in Paris, or at least that was our perspective going in. We decided to visit Moulin Rouge once we were actually in Paris and bought tickets online which was pretty easy. We opted for the dinner + bottle of champagne option which was rather expensive but significantly cheaper than the dinner option. Upon arriving, we had to wait for the doors to open and were able to take in some interesting sights in the surrounding neighborhood. Definitely entertaining in it's own right! I was a bit surprised at the crowd that was lined up to take in the show - another review commented on this and they were completely right. While I was expecting people to be a bit dressed up (maybe business casual or cocktail attire) there were a large number of people that looked like they just rolled out of bed (and perhaps around in the yard...). Morale of the story - wear whatever you're comfortable in! The interior of the place was interesting and unique, definitely what I would expect. Tables are crammed into any available spot so be prepared to become friendly with your neighbors. Our champagne was brought out immediately after we were seated and that was the one and only time we saw our waiter. The show was interesting - definitely more of a circus type show than what I was expecting. It wasn't bad, and some of the acts were really quite cool, but overall I can't say it was the "best" show I've ever seen. It was certainly unique though and I can't say we were ever bored during our time there. Would I do it again? Probably not. But do I regret the decision to take in a show? Absolutely not. Well guys, the two stars are only to say, been there and done that. I suppose it's a "must" if you want to be a little cliche while in Paris... I didn't have huge expectations but it was nothing like I thought. It was not all that special or particularly Parisian...in fact a lot of the music was American and everything was way too outdated and outright cheesy. I imagined a night of champagne and can can'ing, what I got was far from that. I just remember how depressed the ponies looked, how crammed in we were, the expensive forced upon coat check and leaving sorta like, eh. The Moulin Rouge...what can one say? It's one of those experiences I'm glad to have experienced, once. I'm not sure I'd rush to do it again, particularly given the steep price tag. But I'd say it's worth it if you have the money to spend to do it right and just go with the flow. What I mean by doing it right: spend the extra to do the dinner service before the early (9pm) show, which means arriving between 6:45-7:30. There are three expense levels to the menu, plus special diet options as well. We chose the mid-priced menu (Toulouse-Lautrec), and were seated in an excellent spot, first tier up and right at the front of our table for 6. I noticed that all of those front seats went to couples/people dining, and then were filled in by those just opting for the show + champagne after 8:30. It also seemed, to my eye, that people were seated based on what menu they chose, for speedy service...so perhaps splurge for the most expensive menu if you want to be right up by the stage? (I'm not certain but this seemed to be my observation.) The food itself was fine, not the best meal we had in Paris but basically decent banquet food (I wouldn't recommend the veal, though, as it was the second tough and dry veal dish I had in Paris.) Service was perfunctory at best: get you seated, fed, your drinks, one glass of water, don't expect more than that. A band with a male and female singer performed some "smooth jazz" and easy dancing music while we ate, and people were given the opportunity to dance on a small dancefloor in front of the stage as well, which was fun. How many times can you say you danced at the Moulin Rogue? On to the show, which started promptly at nine. I'm no expert - I don't go to Vegas, I'm not really into musical theater - but I thought it was fun. I was entertained throughout though even I noticed that the dancers weren't necessarily the most synchronized or exceptional, except I suppose in appearance and body type. Now, I'm not a prude and can enjoy attractive (almost, like 95% nude) female bodies. But after a while I began to wonder if there shouldn't be a little equality here, on stage. The male dancers were attractive, too...why couldn't we get at least a few of them in speedos or thongs? I do get annoyed by the visual of fully dressed men + naked (except for beads and a tiny thong) women after a while. I actually was most impressed by the three "intermission" acts, particularly the roller skating couple. And that's something I never thought I'd be saying. Basically, I'd say go for it if you're curious and want to say you've done it. Just go with the experience and atmosphere, but don't expect it to be the most mind blowing or dazzling thing you've ever seen. read more

We bought our VIP tickets with Dinner several months in advance. Although pricey, we thought the experience was well worth the money. We were allowed to skip the queue and wait in a beautiful area while our table was being prepared. We had balcony seats with a center view of the stage (I'd argue the best seats in the building). The food was excellent and complex (which is something I really appreciate). The VIP menu is much different from the regular dinner menu, so I'd recommend VIP if you don't mind splurging...definitely the best meal I had in Paris! If you choose to eat dinner, know that it will be a 4 hour experience, 2 hours for the multi-course meal and another 2 hours for the Feerie show. The champagne was topped off the entire evening. At one point I had to say "No more" lol. The show itself was okay. I didn't know what to expect, but it was similar to a low grade Vegas show. There were some good parts however. This was my favorite part of visiting Paris. We had a very enjoyable night at the Moulin Rouge. We purchased tickets a few months ahead of time. We bought the champagne seats, instead of the dinner seats. I would definitely recommend doing this. There are so many places to dine, even around Moulin Rouge that buying the dinner package isn't worth it. We arrived to the show about a half hour early. Be sure to dress nice. Men are not allowed in with hats, shorts or jeans on. There were live performances going on prior to the actual show. It was very entertaining. There were a lot of people from the audience dancing on the lowest dance floor. Once we were seated we were brought our bottle of champagne! Since it was only the two of us, it lasted throughout the entire show. There was a young kid seated at the table across from us, which I thought was odd. However, his family did end up leaving soon after the show started. Maybe they didn't realize what it involved. There isn't a ton of nudity, but it is a part of it. The show was incredible. I would love to see it again! The performers were so talented. It was definitely my favorite part of our short trip in Paris. read more

Ever since seeing the movie, I've had fantasies about going to the Moulin Rouge. I knew whenever I got the opportunity to visit Paris, I needed to check this off my bucket list. So, I wanted the full experience,which also meant paying for the dinner. The food was slightly disappointing by French standards. To open, we were given shooters of this liquid potato mash thingy with caviar. This is not listed on the menu, but it was delicious! Next came the crunchy salad with lobster, avocado, and parmesan. The lobster was pretty minuscule, but overall the flavor was decent. For my main dish I had the fried sea bass fillet with risotto. It was okay, but not the best I've ever had. (I wish they would have taken off the skin.) The Moulin Rouge Opera pastry was the best. The red windmill chocolate accent was adorable. The pastry itself consisted of a chocolate layer with a layer of crunch. I felt the service could have been better. After they cleared our dishes, they never came back to check on us. My date and I were entertained by Chinese tourists causing some kind of issue with management. After dinner service, the rest of the folks started coming in. I highly recommend that if you need to use the restroom, please go before the show begins, as you probably won't be able to get out of your seats during the show. If this was in the US, I'm pretty sure the fire marshal would close this place down. Anyway, once the show begins it's pretty action packed and entertaining. I enjoyed the roller skaters, even though part of the act made me cringe, because I was so worried that one of them was going to snap their neck mid-performance. The snake lady and the water pit was cool and the comedy act in the middle of the show was was fun. Forget the massive amounts of boobies that this show offers.... for me it was all about the miniature ponies. OMG! Miniature ponies dressed up and trotting around the stage. (My ovaries might have exploded right then and there.) When all is said and done, the show is entertaining and could use a little more skin from the boys! Would I go again? Probably not. Moulin Rouge is not what I expected. I loved the movie and the way Hollywood portrayed it but the real Moulin Rouge was not as glamorous. We had reservations for a dinner and show at 200 euros a piece, which equals to about $500 US dollars. As we entered, the room was in sort of a round shape so others are able to see the show I suppose. We were seated in the front to the side on the second step from the main floor which were excellent seats! I had a great view for the show, almost perfect actually because we weren't cramped sitting next to a bunch of people. We opted for the $200 Euro menu because I saw the words LOBSTER, but I think I should've stayed with the $175 euro menu because the salmon or pasta probably would've been the better option. I picked the lobster cake for my appetizer and had the sea bass for my main entree and for dessert, the chocolate mousse. The food was really 2.5 our of 5 stars. The food was edible but it wasn't good. They startede by giving us a little cup with brown filling and whipped cream, and you're thinking it's a dessert, but really it's not. It's some sort of chestnut cream drink that was warm in termperature and it just tasted nasty. I recommend trying it for yourself but it's definitely something we didn't want a second sip of. Then our appetizers came out. The fiance had the duck foie gras and that was so gross. My lobster was okay but it was cold and I did not like it that much. HIs main course was the steak and he said it was the toughest steak he had to chew on and for that price, I would expect a really good steak. My sea bass was so salty it was unbearable to eat. However, one thing the French can do right is dessert. My chocolate mousse was really good and my fiance got the strawberry dessert and that was great as well. They show came on and the highlight for me was the guy and girl on rolller skates on the round platform and the girl who jumped into the pool with snakes. Other than that, I fell asleep at times during the show. I would recommend this place for the experience definitely, but not to go more than once. read more

I think I was saved from having too high of expectations for the Moulin Rouge by having not seen the movie. I agree with Asha that it does feel pretty tacky but that seeing beautiful, REAL women was refreshing! The Moulin Rouge is located in the Red-Light District of Pigalle so if you are easily embarrassed (as I am), be forewarned. I spent the walk to the caberet blushing bright red, trying not to get caught intriguingly staring at all the sex shops (damn Puritanical heritage!). There was a huge crowd out front getting pictures of the famous red windmill that gives it its name (OK, OK, I got a picture as well!), but there were very few people inside. The shows reminded me very much of showgirls in Vegas but not as elaborate. And of course, you must watch the Can-Can performed where it was originally made famous! read more

I am so torn on my rating for this review. The food would get zero stars but the show would get five stars. Food - The only good thing about this place was that they served Mumm champagne. Everything about the food was way below average. For appetizer, I ordered the lobster pie...turns out there were two teeny tiny pieces of lobster and the rest of it was lobster flavored...gross. My husband ordered the Norwegian Smoked Salmon which was WAY better than my lobster crap. For dinner my husband ordered Veal and he was not happy with it...AT ALL. I ordered the steak medium rare which came out medium well so I had to send it back. When it came back, it was medium rare but still disgustingly chewy. For dessert I don't even remember what either my husband or I had because it was THAT forgettable. Show - The show was great. I wasn't too thrilled that the girls are topless 90% of the time but it wasn't that big of a deal, especially cuz the dancing was still fantastic. This was the best thing we did in Paris. We took our kids and although the dancers were topless, the show was tasteful and the kids lived it. We went for the dinner show and arrived an hour early. We were rewarded with front row seats and a live band and dancefloor during the meal. The food was alright, not the best but alright. But then the show began and wow what a show! Amazing talent on that stage! The dancing and singing were fantastic and the costumes and sets exceeded expectations. There were some acts that were more like circus acts and they were just breathtaking. The performers were super kind to our kids too, winking at them and even high fiving them. The waiter brought them keychains as a gift. I thought this place would phone it in because they are such a famous tourist destination. But it was the opposite. Completely epic show and courteous, professional staff. 10/10 recommend. read more

I thought it would really cheesy but I actually enjoyed this show a lot!!! I won't spoil it but you should def check it out at least once! I really liked the decor inside as well. First, I must state we did not attend a show. I would have loved to, but we were there early in the day during The Euro2016. The city was already a madhouse. We were touring the Sacré-Cœur and decided to walk down the hill to the Moulin Rouge. The walk itself was ironic, coming from this beautiful holy church and descending down the hill into the sin of the Moulin Rouge. We did walk around outside the building, reading the show posters and listening to various tour guides talking about the history and the folklore. How do they choose where to seat you? Seated in last row and no drink service. The 4 of us were dressed appropriately and paid $110 per person for the pleasure of sitting as far away from the stage as is humanly possible. Was wondering if we were supposed to grease someones palm because the couple in line in front of us were seated practically on top of the stage. We never saw anyone to order a drink from and since it wasn't the dinner show there wasn't any food. Very disappointing experience overall as it was hot as blazes up in the nosebleed section. When in Paris this is a stop you have to make, this place has been around for a long time. We did not have tickets and couldn't buy them online since I had a hard time with the application so we went early in the morning to buy some tickets and they did have some for us to buy. If you have the chance to go during the day, go, it looks different and you can take pictures having the place in the background. But if you decide to go and take pictures go early because as people wake up and stop by to take pictures, later on you will have twenty or more people at a time taking pictures and you will have someone else in your pictures. We came back at night for the show and we got greeted at the entrance and you can leave your jacket at the front and get some drinks while your show starts. We did have our seats reserved so we walked over to our table and we were excited for the show to start. The place looks original, red carpet, red curtains on stage, lamps on tables that have a red shade, and a dark ceiling that holds the lights for the show. You can take pictures before and after the show but not during the show, it is understandable and I did not take any pictures. The show was original as well and we all enjoyed it, while watching the show we got Champagne and other drinks as well, they were all good. The show takes you back in time and the performers look great, do not compare it to other shows since this is unique and you will enjoy if you do not compare to any other. The tuna was very bland, the salmon and peas were just ok and this was the first place in Paris were the dessert was bad. I give at least two stars for the spectacular costumes. Someone put a lot of thought into this design. The showroom was impressive. I guess I've seen too much in my life because I've seen all of these shows back in the day in Las Vegas. I know the Las Vegas shows originated from Paris but Las Vegas no longer has these shows due to lack of Interest The dancers were out of sync with each other. And the worst part of all was the awful music. Whoever conceptualized this show must have done so in the 80s because everything sound like it was coming off of the rocky or Karate Kid soundtrack. It wasn't until they got into the classic 19th Century Paris the music really took a turn and they did the can-can. But then that wasn't even the show and they closed with some cheesy version of I Will Survive and some original song that sounded super 80s. Someone needs to revamp this show. Visually it is great but your ears are going to regret it read more
