It's not commercialized. (And I hope it never is...that's why it's so great.) In fact, there are only a few businesses along the trail, unlike across the river. 2. The path is paved and marked by quarter mile markers for 2 miles. The markers give you motivation to make it to the next one! 3. It's not as crowded! 4. People usually come to this walking path to EXERCISE. You find the majority is avidly walking, running, jogging, or you have the occasional biker. I've even seen a few people on rollerblades. I find the Tuscaloosa side is more leisurely (which is okay), but the trails there tend to be busier because of it. 5. I love it so much, my husband and I got married here right under the train trestle! 6. This park helped get me into running! The park is clean and well maintained. There is ample parking located throughout the walking path. I always feel safe running here. It has wonderful scenery from the river, riverbanks, train trestle, wildflowers, and the occasional wild life! I often see turtles basking in the sun along the banks.

Look out on the barbells and dumbbells for caked on dead skin from countless people. I thought it was very nice and could offer a lot. Going into my senior year, after over three years at this establishment, I still agree with those statements with a few caveats. First, three squat racks. Why? There are 40,000 people that go to school here. That is around 1 squat rack for every 13,000 students. That is a horrible ratio. I have waited in line for the squat racks for over 30 minutes before. That is time that I will never get back in my life. Fix it. Second, parking. This one is a little more specific but at the time of writing this review it is the summer. Why did I have to circle the parking lot 6 times to find a parking spot? During the summer, I look forward to the gym being empty. I am busy. I have a lot to do. It's just more wasting time trying to find a spot. A little heads up of the basketball tournament would have been nice. I'm glad that things are being hosted, but there are still patrons of the gym that want to workout. The parking situation isn't any better during the school year. Third, the strict no fun gym hours. Look, the hours here suck. Not just for the weight room, but for everything. The hours on the lap pool just down right don't make sense. There is a common issue with time. Time being wasted. Time = money so therefore money is being wasted. I value my time and this place is taking inconvenient amounts on it not for its primary purpose. Everything is like a YouTube ad. Like yeah you get to workout, but here is a 20 minute inconvenience for you beforehand. The equipment is nice though and it is better than paying for a Crunch membership. 7.5/10

Like everyone else said, the courses are pretty much identical and yes you get unlimited play but who wants to go through again? it's a pretty small area. Also the fact that there's barely any shade anywhere is insane to me. My biggest complaint was the food and the happy hour. We got nachos and we asked for sour cream on the side. It was literally liquid. Like a cup of milk I'm not exaggerating. I went back down to explain and ask for a different one and was met with blank stares and no words. She just walked off then brought back an identical cup of liquid cream.... Again no words. It would have been fine if she had said "it looks like this one is pretty liquidy as well. Sorry about that not sure what's going on with the sour cream" or "actually our sour cream is more like a crema". Instead I just had to wait to be brought back the exact same consistency of sour cream. Just very weird. Mind you we are the only ones there eating at this time. There are maybe two other couples playing on the course so it's not like it was busy. We went on a Tuesday afternoon. As we played, on the screen they advertised a happy hour Mondays-Thursday 3:00-6:00. It was Tuesday at 3:05. We tried to order said happy hour just to be met yet again with blank stares and then after they went to the back then came back to the front, we were told that's not available at college town locations .... Okay that's fine but why would it be advertised here at this location?? Was it enjoyable? Yes but mostly because of the company. Do I think it's worth the price? During the day I'd say no.

I could not imagine ever having the wedding anywhere else. I was so pleased with the service and it made life really easy to have everything in one place. He worked with the caterer, the cake delivery folks and the DJ to make sure everything was set up perfectly. All of my guests loved the venue! We had such a good time we didn't realize that we were already back to the dock at the end of the night. Checked into my hotel and crash. A couple days later saw the Belle lit up from my hotel room. Called up the captain and he said the boat isn't running but his bar was open until 9. We dashed through the pouring rain and down to the river from the Indigo and got on board. Captain Dobson was very welcoming. Made us a drink and talked to us for a long time about the Belle and the history of the town and the state of Alabama. He stayed an extra half hour chatting with us. Great guy. I'll be sure to make it for a cruise next time.
