Water is provided in the park as well as tables to sit and watch your dog. Dog bags are also provided and in my experience they're always available but bring your own if you can. If you plan on going, dress appropriately. Wear clothes in which you expect to get dirty because even with a grassy and clean park, some dogs will greet you with a slobbery and happy poke to the leg. A lot of the landscape in this dog park consists of mulch and dirt. I imagine the reason is because dogs like to dig ALOT it makes it easier to maintain the park and patch any hazardous holes to prevent tripping and injuries. Although this isn't a very prevalent issue I do wish that the park and its visitors have a bit more decorum and clean after themselves. Not much of a technical issue but a community incentive. I find myself finding waste on the ground more often now. When you're at a park, you're supposed to watch your dogs. Aside from that, after almost of a decade of coming here with my dog I've always found the people super friendly and occasionally I'd find extremely beautiful dogs.

Wally enjoyed that part immensely, but cleaning a corgi isn't fun. Second, the fresh water for them to drink was not clear- it had a brown tint to it. Third, some of the owners brought dogs who weren't the most friendly... and then didn't pay attention to them when they snapped at other dogs. Positives- pups liked the rock formation. The park was HUGE. There were spots for humans to sit. There were essentially two parks- one for small dogs (under 20lbs) and one for big dogs. It was easy to find. And there were a ton of dogs!

(Not that I'd want to hold either.) we met Dobbii the bearded dragon who is quite the snuggler. Doesn't take long to see the animals and there are lots of trails to explore as well as a playground for the kiddos.

This is a fabulous little park that has a great walking path that, though fairly short, is varied…read moreenough with its slopes to give you a decent workout. They also have seats spaced at comfortable intervals to allow you to catch your breath before moving on. I also appreciate that they are so pet friendly, with posts for recycling bags (always a bag there to help make sure you can always pick up after Fido!) as well as a great fenced in dog run (two separate areas for small or large dogs) to give the the pooch a chance to play fetch and play with his friends. There is also a pavilion with picnic tables as well as tennis courts and a skate park. For the most part, I always feel safe there as there always seems to be a number of families there. Watkins has recently updated their rest rooms and they are beautiful! They also included a bubbler which is great when you are walking the loop on those hot summer days.

There is a baseball field, horshoe, picnic, swings, soccer, restrooms, concessions. Great park, I'd highly recommend taking your children there for an afternoon or for events. No fee for the park. Plenty of parking out front.

Great place for dogs of all sizes to run around and play! Two sides for both big and small dogs,…read moreother dog owners bring gallons of water jugs and add to the shelves for thirsty pups on hot days. There are dog bowls in the large dog area and a bag full of different toys to toss around. Benches for humans to sit and lots of running space. Some of the locals who were here kept both the large and small dog gates open to let dogs come and go as they please to each side. There are poop bags in both areas to clean up dog messes and the park is well maintained. Owners be courteous about cleaning up your dogs mess so other dogs and humans are not stepping in that. Our one dog loves playing fetch and could run all day if we allowed her too. While our smaller dog isn't a big park fan, she just comes to enjoy the grass eating and outdoors.

Not a…read morelot of scenery, but it gets you out in nature and that really helps if you have been cooped up at home during the Covid Pandemic. There are some very minor bridges here or there and a lot of people come here to run. Please remember to wear your mask as you are passing people constantly. There are several points of entry. I entered from the Damascus side where there are a bunch of townhomes and there is not a lot of parking, but a decent amount. I can see it being really difficult on a Saturday for parking though. Also, when you are exiting, it can get dangerous. Cars are coming from both sides and it is difficult to see if there are any incoming cars when the cars next to you are blocking your view. Just exit VERY slowly to be safe. There are some streams and water/ponds on the trail. Nothing spectacular, but there so its not just dirt and trees. You may run into some deer here or there because its Maryland. I just like the fact that this is an option for a good 20-30 minute walk and another 20-30 minute walk back.
