This is the highest point in Michigan at 1,979ft. Getting here involves travelling down sparsely marked dirt logging roads for 8 miles (about 40 minutes), so a GPS definitely your friend for navigating here. I would not recommend coming here without one, since there is no cell service if you get lost. At the top there is a small parking lot, and a short trail that leads to the marker as well as a vista to look out over the trees. There is a mailbox with a logbook inside, and also a picnic table and grill, if you need it. There is some good hiking on the adjacent logging roads, if you are adventurous. read more
