I am going to have my wedding here soon. It was not my first choice but that is only because I have never heard of it before. I was in a bind because the Seattle city parks dept screwed me in a big way. The space is beautiful and so is the neighborhood. It is across the street from Coleman park which extends to Lake Washington. The best part of the space is the manager, Sam. He is sooooooo sweet. He is also blingtasktic. You will only find out what I mean if you meet him. The second best thing about this place is that it is a big beautiful room with a ceiling that is two stories high. The prices are really reasonable at $1300 for 8 hours. This may not sound cheap but if you or your friend gets their newsletter and live in the 98144 area code, it is HALF PRICE! There is lots of street parking and they are extremely flexible with their rules and regulations. This was a huge issue with the Seattle parks dept. The city inundated me with an endless list of rules and no nos. They suck! Then there is the Mt Baker community club... Any caterer you want, including mom. Wanna BBQ outside the club? Thats cool, just don't set the building on fire. City requires fire permit. You can have candles without paying for a fire permit. Yes, the city requires this. I don't need a million dollar liability license to use a banquet license to serve liquor to my guests. I don't have to get married under a basketball hoop!!! You can also have them set up and put away the table and chairs for $150. What is there not to love? update: On the day of the wedding the person who was suppose to come and open the doors didn't show up until 5 min before the scheduled time. Then she took off to the coffee shop for over 30 minutes so we couldn't get in upstairs to hang the decorations. She was pretty lame but I don't blame the center. It was still beautiful.

Lovely place. Historic building. Reasonable rates. A nonprofit, so your rental fee supports a great community resource.

Plenty of street parking, at least on a Sunday evening, and easy street-level entry. Pass through a small lobby space and find yourself in a delightful, square-shaped room with tall ceilings, cozy lighting and a feeling of warmth. A kitchen is available for use to the renters, as is a small stage atop which can be found a standing piano, whose sounds carry beautifully throughout the establishment. The room is large enough to host a number of people, tables, chairs, etc.; yet contained enough to feel warm and full.

Hell, anything attached with the word "wedding" is typically expensive. Truth be told I really wanted to get married in a brewery but that didn't pan out due to unresponsive beer garden managers. I remembered a friend of mine had an art show at the Lakewood Seward Park Community Club years back. As I walked past tables filled with art for sale I looked around the place and thought it was charming. Never again did I think back to the venue until I needed one and my original plans felll through. This was the only place I was going to get hitched at because it was all I needed. While it is rather simple inside, it has charm and potential. The main room is the perfect size for small to medium sized gatherings (it can fit 150 seated people). You have a clean slate to work with, all white walls, a stage, and hardwood floors, and the size is manageable enough that you don't feel overwhelmed. The price is very reasonable considering the cost of other venues. Many similar venues were higher in price. You rent by the hour and included in the rental are tables, chairs, and use of the kitchen. There is a coat room which was converted into a dressing room for my event and the yard to the side of the building is spacious. Another positive is the venue allows dogs inside. The best thing about the clubhouse? Sheila, the venue coordinator. I can't praise her enough! She responded to my e-mails in a timely manner and answered all of my many questions. She was always available to let me view the venue when I was in the planning stages. I couldn't have asked for a better venue to get married in. It fit my now husband and I's vision of having a fun relaxed DIY wedding.

The space itself is full of character and charm, which meant we didn't have to add much decor. GTB already brings the perfect vibe. Between the ballroom, theater, and patio, we had so many beautiful backdrops for every part of our celebration. The catering was incredible - our guests couldn't stop raving about the food, especially the brisket (which the chef loving tended to into the early morning hours). We also loved that we got to do a tasting beforehand, and the team was wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions. The bar was just as great! Our specialty cocktail and mocktail were both a big hit. Danielle, the venue manager, was amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Her communication and organization were top-notch, and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. On the day itself, Danielle and the GTB team were calm, detailed-oriented, and took care of everything behind the scenes so we could enjoy our wedding without stress. The in-house florist created stunning arrangements, which made things that much easier for us. Everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. GTB is very LGBTQ-affirming, and worked seamlessly with our other vendors. We're still getting compliments from guests about how beautiful and effortless everything felt. Georgetown Ballroom truly gave us the wedding of our dreams.
