At all hours we'd have diners looking on to our property and even shouting out personal questions to us as we attempted to enjoy our big backyard. After over 3 years of this and zero cooperation by the BBQ business we saved and saved until we had the cash to have a barrier built. Yesterday, SJB and it's owner, Steve installed a beautiful fence at a price we could afford! It is over 70' long and on the side of a small hill. Not an easy job. I needed to replace my fence. It's was a mess and it was long overdue. LV Fence has some good…read moreonline reviews and a friend of a friend of a friend said that they used them a few years ago so I figured why not? I called the office, left a message and got a call back a few hours later. We set up a date about two weeks later for the owner to come out and give me an estimate. Day of he comes out and from the time he parked the truck until the time he got back in it was maybe ten minutes. Asked two or three questions and said it was all he needed and that the quote would come via email within the next few days. About a week later the email and the same estimate shows up in the mail the same day. The estimate is insanely high. Closer to 20K than it is to 10K for 160-ish linear feet of 6ft basic white vinyl privacy fencing and 2 gates. I didn't ask for anything specialized, custom, top of the line or exotic. Only bare basics. WTH. After a few days I called the office and left a message about what the price would be if we removed the old fence ourselves and never got a response which is what I assumed would happen. I'll take their silence to mean...??...the job is too small and they don't want to deal with it since there isn't enough money involved so let's give an unrealistically high quote that checks the box that a quote was given even if I would have to be an idiot to agree to it? Again, I don't know. They never returned my call or my follow up email so I'll take their silence to mean that it's time to move on, and I did, to another company who did a fantastic job for less than 10K. I get it. It's a crazy world we live in right now with supply chain issues, soaring prices and companies having lots of ongoing staffing issues which is why my rating isn't lower. But at the end of the day, there are times when you just get a vibe or feeling that the person/company you're dealing with isn't interested and that's exactly what I think happened here.
