I will never use this company. If they are willing to be dangerous on the roads, they do not care about public safety. On June 30th, 2025 around 1 PM, a truck for this company was driving on I25 North towards Denver, and had no regard for others on the road. She was swerving around cars to get through traffic, no blinker, tailgating every car in bumper to bumper traffic! Going over 20 MPH the speed limit in a work zone. She was a younger white woman with shoulder length brown hair and sunglasses. If you want to drive dangerously, maybe don't do it in a company vehicle. License plate: CJWH54. If you could give zero stars I would. This company is a fraud. We used Rocky Mountain alarm for years and they were taken over by this mountain alarm outfit. We tried many times to get in touch with them and no response. They would not provide tech assistance and when they would get a tech to call they told us that they couldn't provide any help. We cancelled our service in July and still haven't received our refund of a measly $79. They must be near bankrupt. Our next call is to the fraud department at the police station. If you use their service stop immediately. If you are considering an alarm system do NOT use them. read more

I recently purchased a home where the alarm was installed and later monitored by Mountain Alarm of Littleton. We had Ron come out to inspect the alarm system and asked him to install two external speakers which would activate when the alarm was tripped, so neighbors would hear a break in. He hammered me on having monthly monitoring with the system, I politely told him I didn't think monthly monitoring was needed since neighbors would hear the audible speakers/alarm going off. He gave me a number of the installation group and said they'd do the job. I called the installation supervisor 6X, spoke to him once where he stated he'd get back to me, never did. I called Ron and left another message and he never called me back. It's blatantly obvious that this company is not interested in anything but soaking customers for needless monthly monitoring. People need to understand, if you live in a neighborhood, you don't need monitoring. The blare of the alarm in the neighborhood will cause neighbors to call the sheriff, plus, you want an audible alarm if family is inside as the alarm being heard by burglars will cause them to flee, the goal!!~ read more

We have been paying this company for twenty five years to monitor our home's windows and doors. I recently called and spoke with the lead technician and told him that the number 3 on our keypad was sticking and it required extreme pressure to get it to work after many years of use. He told me that the "cheapest thing to do is to change my security code so I don't use the number 3." Oh boy, way to take care of your very long time customers, Mountain Alarm! I decided to call one of Mountain Alarm's competitors, United Security Systems. We signed the paperwork for United to take over the account. We paid them more than $600 to install new key pads, a new panel, new smoke detectors and we paid them to check the connections on all doors and windows. The technician found twelve windows that had either been disconnected or had never been connected to the panel. I called Mountain Alarm and spoke with their corporate office and a company represented apologized for the problems. In addition to paying United Security Systems to update our system we are paying them a higher monthly monitoring fee that we paid Mountain Alarm. Mountain Alarm lost a long time customer and recurring revenue. They could have at least offered to refund some of the fees we paid them over the years. read more

As another reviewer stated, if I could give zero stars, I would. Mountain Alarm's system is mediocre and their customer service is nil. Our system never worked correctly and when we tried to get help from their technicians, we could not because we did not remember our password. Yes, we should have written it down somewhere; but a company that relies on providing service to its customers should have back up methods for verification. For example, when I call my bank to address an account issue, they ask for my verbal password. I say "I don't know." So they say, "that's okay, can you tell me the last four digits of your social security number" or "That's okay, can you tell me your mother's maiden name". Because they had no backup system for verification, we never could get help. So, from our perspective, we paid $44.95 a month for years (contractual obligation) for no service. And they didn't care a hoot that their system was broken. They were always good at sending the monthly invoices, though The whole issue was so impossible to resolve with Mountain Alarm, that we actually got another service (Vivent, which we love) during the same time we were still contractually obligated to pay Mountain Alarm. Seriously, we pay two alarm companies. But, unlike Mountain Alarm, Vivent actually provides us with a sophisticated alarm system and has great customer service. October 2015 marks the end of our contract with Mountain Alarm. Good riddance. read more

Mountain Alarm took our premiums but did not monitor our system. Mountain Alarm, based in Colorado and Utah had been monitoring our burglar alarm system for the past 26 years. We faithfully paid our quarterly charges assuming they were monitoring system. In January of 2013 we discovered and Mountain Alarm (Ron Wolff) admitted, they had not been monitoring our system for at least a year and possibly since the advent of the 10 digit local telephone system. Admittedly, we should have tested the system but Mountain Alarm knew our dated system was one in which could not be monitored on their new equipment. They never notified us but kept on billing for their monitoring services. After we notified them, Ron Wolff, a sales associate with Mountain Alarm came out to the home and pitched a new system. The quote he gave us was not only higher than a competitor with the exact same equipment but included less features. Mountain Alarm, never offered nor when asked, to refund us ANY monies for charging us for a service they had not performed. Clearly, Mountain Alarm was not going to take any ownership of their wrong doing and continuing on with their questionable practices. Mountain Alarm is a great company who provides peace of mind. While we were away, lightening hit our house. Before we could get home, the fireman were there doing an inspection. I feel very safe knowing my house is always protected. They are also very thorough when it's just a false alarm, i.e., burning hamburgers. read more

We've only been with Mountain Alarm for a year now but so far no problems and they seem responsive on the customer service side thus far. Their monthly monitoring fee is reasonable, though their service charges I've found to be expensive. They are by far the top alarm company in Evergreen just simply based on the anecdotal evidence of all the Mountain Alarm signs in folks' yards. Rarely have I seen any other companies' names displayed, so Mountain Alarm must be doing something right. read more

The Company is terrible at Customer service. The equipment is not quite reliable and designed without a thought about customer's convenience in mind. Examples: For several days the power outlet the control panel was connected to was out of order. After fixing the outlet, this stupid panel began alarming every several seconds to let me know this way that the battery is low. I called for tech support - they charge more than $300 for technician visit on weekends and provide no instructions on how to shut this alarm down. To allow my grandson to sleep, I had to tear the panel out of the wall to stop it alarming. Earlier we had to disable (turn it to useless position) one of the motion detectors because of multiple false alarms. So, one of the rooms became unprotected. Even earlier we had to have a technician to come to our house because the system was alarming due to lost cell connection. It was a lot of fun in the middle of the night. And what, interesting, we could do to restore this connection and to stop alarm working? A was going to cancel this service - OK, it appeared that I have to pay more than $700 to do it... Don't deal with these guys. As far as I understand they have never ever worked on home security - only on fire alarms, which is usually with corporate customers, and they just bought Rocky Mountain Alarm Company (with all their customers) this year. Nobody even informed customers on change of provider! They just don't know how to work appropriately with individual households. Addition of 10.17.2013 Yesterday I got a call from VP of Mountain Alarm Company with apologies about the facts which I described above. I was offered to cancel the contract without cancellation fee or to continue using this Company's service dealing directly with this official in case of any problems. He gave me both his office and cell phone numbers. He sounded very sincerely and I decided to stay with the Company and to see how everything will work out. I'm also changing the rating of the Company to three stars - at least they try to correct their errors. read more
