Easy to get to this exposition center. Parking seemed pretty plentiful and it's free but my advice rather than fight traffic trying to find the best spots just park on some of the outer spaces and walk up to the entrance as it's not really that far. If you're handicap you may want to get there early, as those were full especially for the Festival of Trees event. Venue seemed really clean and plenty of friendly staff on site. Purchase my tickets ahead of time so easy breezy scanning my ticket in my phone and no lines to enter. read more

The jordan public house food is awful. The chicken strips were dry and freezer burnt. The prices are insane and they charged an unknown service charge of 1.79. read more

We go there every year for Festival of Trees, which is fun. The Dickens festival and Crazy Daisy shows, you just get bugged to death by vendors. And everything is really expensive. A Christmas gnome that would be $10 in a store like Wal-Mart, was $50 dollars there. The Family Christmas gift show was fun, but it's expensive just to get in. For four of us it cost $58. And that's not even counting anything you buy there. I was also disappointed they didn't have any goodies to buy like Festival of Trees does. There's also not much parking. If you park at Jordan Commons across the street, it's $15. They're also cashless now. Not just for buying the tickets, but for anything you want to buy there. read more

What went well? First it was a gun show one of the many they have here. It was amazing experience to walk through so many different booths. A variety of guns being sold and showed. Lots of ammo being sold. Lots of true red blooded Americans people in place where nobody was causing anything. This place is nice for all and any kind of events. read more

Great 'medium to large' sized venue that is ideal for hosting events. The parking is free, which is a huge plus for any event. The place is clean and neat and I've enjoyed being part of two events hosted there over the past two months. I would like to see some quiet seating areas scattered throughout the entrance and perhaps better food options. read more

The Mountain America Exposition Center is a marvelous venue. I was greeted by their nice employees at the ticket booth and entrance. The parking is limited. I was lucky to find a spot that someone else was leaving. The bathrooms are well kept. I visited during the Salt Lake Home and Garden Show, for the second year in a row, and had an overall great experience. The amount of vendors and exhibitions are impressive. Innovative products, home improvement, builders and even food flood the expo floors. At the center, was an impressive landscaping with water cascades and pergolas with swings amongst other beautiful landscape ideas. Most of the vendors have candy and toys for the kids. Also, raffles and instant prizes. The food vendors offered samples of their products. read more

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to attend many an expo here. I've seen it transition from a brand new facility to a well-loved and popular destination. I've also seen the change in names, but will probably always call it the Southe Town Expo Center (sorry). I don't think it's fair to rate the expo center on the individual shows I've attended-but rather as a holistic approach that considers the facility and staff itself, regardless of show I've attended. Parking. While it looks massive and appears that there would be enough, there almost never is. They have done a good job at providing off-site parking across the streets and providing a shuttle, however. Potties. Let's be real. When there are hundreds or thousands people gathered for an event, bathrooms become very important. There are plenty here and they are relatively clean. Facility. Each show sets things up very differently and sometimes it looks like a whole new place. This goes to show how flexible it is here. I'd assume that there is someone on staff that helps with layout suggestions. The flow has always been pretty good. Food. There are concessions available, and sometimes beer depending on the event. The prices are a bit high and they don't allow outside food or drink. Plan ahead and you'll be fine. Summary-this is a large event venue that I'll probably visit a few times a year, depending on what shows/expos they have going on. Look for me at one of them. read more

The expo center was advertising they were having a Christmas Boutique with over 99 booths. Umm No... there wasn't 99 booths. The booths (they had were really "table tops") were so squished together it made for uncomfortable viewing with people bumping into one another. Who ever designed the layout for this boutique did a terrible job. I'm sure they were trying to get as many crafts into one room as possible, but it just wasn't inviting. We thought we would stop in to see if there were any last minute gifts we could purchase. Most were handmade, which is pretty cool. The Christmas Boutique had two rooms, one was larger than the other, and a ways away from each other. At the same time as the Christmas Boutique, they were having some kind of cheerleader competition. So many spangly costumes with big, big eyelashes. There was a cost to go inside, and watch the cheers. We decided not to do that. There wasn't anything else to see or do, so we left empty handed. read more

This was such a lame event. And the funny thing is any of the vendor booths that have no samples, there are no people in front of those lines. People are only here for the free samples and those lines are even longer. So if you want to come and just stand in one line to stand in another line and then stand in another line This is the event for you!!! Sugar High organizers should have thought through this a little bit more and been more organized. read more

This is a great expo center! They have a lot of parking and it's not too far from the freeway so it is pretty easy to get there. I've been to many events here and think that this facility is large and great for hosting larger events! read more

Not totally sure what to review here since it's an event center. I can say that whoever runs it does a decent job. Everything is usually clean despite being so open to the public who can be inconsiderate of places where there are large gatherings. Plenty of restrooms. I dont think they have wifi for the public, I could be wrong- but they should. It would also be nice if they hired people to help with parking and traffic. The South Towne Exposition Center has been re-named for a regional bank, and, of course, everything being "sponsored" is inevitable. For years, I have been (mostly dragged) to expositions for homes and gardens and travel and collectables (okay, I wasn't dragged to this one), as well as big antique sales and auto shows. I have the unique experience of once living 200 yards from the Center, being an exhibitor (for a few computer security exhibitions), and being a learning participant in knowledge conferences. So I have experienced the center for more than a decade, in almost every single possible way. I can first state that nothing has really magically improved (though it's early in their tenure) with the exception of their signage, which I find to be less confusing than in the South Towne days. The most infuriating part of the Center remains: The lack of free WiFi, or any cell phone reception whatsoever. I flirted with not reviewing the Salt Lake Home Show at all because it's like walking into The Pentagon. Exhibitors: Don't you want people like me to PROMOTE what's going on DURING the event? I thought so. Parking is a mini-hassle. We went on Friday at 4 p.m. within the first 2 hours of the SL Home Show's start, and the lot was FULL. Granted, they had free valet service, but only d-bags don't tip, so essentially it was "reasonably priced" parking. In the event hall, the signage is still outdated, the bathrooms old-aged, and the heating system was set to "sauna". The rooms I've been in for educational lectures are still what they were ... drab. Still, it's a gigantic grand place perfect for big events. It'll be interesting to see what happens when they put down the paint brushes and get down to the real work--improving the Center into one above and beyond the Salt Palace, our region's premier venue. read more

Lots of parking, well lit, easy to find. ATM for Mountain America CU is available inside. Also easy to vend, can drive vehicle inside.

Meh. This is an expo center, so it gets a pass on a couple of things, like the general dreariness of the entire place and the obnoxious branding. Here's what really killed me, though: There's no free WiFi and trying to find cell service in there is like trying to find Dick Cheney's conscience. Not gonna happen. To add insult to injury, the coffee was garbage -- I feel like I gave myself a cavity drinking whatever sludge that machine dispensed. If you're there for a conference or something, be aware that seating near outlets is nearly non-existent, so you'll probably want to take a battery pack. I forgot mine and had to ration my battery usage for the last few hours of the day. The pro: the bathrooms were very clean and well-stocked for the duration of my conference. read more

I like the phrases that YELP uses, and agree with the "2-Star, Could've been better". For as large as a place as this is, would it kill them to have put in decent bathroom facilities?!?! YIKES! Get ready to "hold it until you get home" or wait in line for an hour. 2 urinals, and 2 toilets for a place that holds 50,000+ people? Crazy. The venue has really been in decline3 for a while, the floors are dirty, concrete is cracking, and outlets that do not work. The vendor food is an absolute rip off, where I got one salad, a pretzel and a drink for $18.00! And it was terrible - I was offered hello mustard for my pretzel? Who eats yellow mustard on a pretzel? Yep, that sums it up - go to another venue for your events. read more

While it looked nice. There are very little places to sit. Being a person who has to sit often there were no benches in the site and I looked I looked hard. Inside the venue and outside in the main hall. I didn't want to leave but not even the concession stands had tables and chairs. I know that inside the venue was the Home Expos fault for not having seating. However, there should have been something to sit on outside in the halls. We had to go sit on a rock outside before I could even make it to my car. I was so miserable I didn't think I was going to make it to the rock. So if you are going and need to sit every so often I do not recomend going to this convention hall read more
