I had her in Magnolia last year (6th grade) but the amount of bullying, amount of student swearing, lack of time to eat, & feeling of a prison had her crying & begging not to go to school everyday had me looking for other options. After talking to a friend who had a similar problem with her 4th grader and switched her last year to SMA with great success, I thought I would try it for my 6th grader. The difference was night & day! My 6th grader now loved school! She is challenged, gets to be creative and everyone is so nice! She still gets As & A+s and she is learning more than at Magnolia. SMA has a ZERO tolerance for bullying & swearing. My middle girl (9 years old now) was not doing well at Cottage Hill. She has ADHD & even though she was on medication, she seldom paid attention & often did not finish class assignments. Even though she went to Home Work club almost daily, I still had to re teach her what she was supposed have learned in class. I begged for an IDP or some help for her for 3 years to no avail. I can go on and on but I hope you get the picture. This year, she is pulled out for Brain Gym to help her focus & math & language arts to work in small groups. What a difference! My youngest was in Kindergarten at Cottage Hill last year. Her teacher was like a drill Sargent! No kidding! She yelled at the kids. My happy cheerful then 5 year old became depressed & hated school. I finally insisted that she change teachers & she did better. But I don't think she learned enough compared to my older 2 who had kindergarten at another school. Now, all my girls are at SMA and I could not be more pleased! My now first grader is all caught up & loves school! My girls cover the spectrum regarding learning & temperament & they are all succeeding SMA. SMA truly educates each child according to their needs. They truly care about each child and strive to ensure each child has the skill sets they need to succeed in school & life.

The teachers bring their substantial training, experience, and unique gifts to a beautiful environment. Montessori builds independence, autonomy, and initiative as it guides children into becoming passionate, lifelong learners. I am so grateful I found Morningstar in 2022 and can't recommend it highly enough to parents who have high hopes for their child's early education. One benefit I particularly treasure is the opportunity for leadership my son is experiencing as a Montessori mentor. As the caboose to our family, it struck me that this is his big opportunity to be the oldest among his peers. As I see the pictures and videos the school provides daily, chat casually with the teachers at pickup, and observe in our home life, I am seeing my "baby" grow into a confident, thoughtful boy who can apply reason and empathy, modulate his responses, and make good choices in his daily life. Even though he's eligible for Kindergarten (and I am a big supporter of the WPUSD elementary he will attend next year), I keep him here for the low teacher/student ratio, the peacefulness and productivity of his work day, the laughter, fun, and joy that is so clearly enjoyed by the children and the teachers, and the warmth, love, and kindness that welcomes in the families in the mornings and tells them goodnight at the close of day. As Morningstar matures under Ms. Gigi's leadership, I highly recommend it to all families looking for childcare / school in Lincoln.

I attended their open house to see if the school would be a good fit for my son. We entered through the back gate and from the start I noticed I was being looked over. I figured it was because I looked somewhat sloppy carrying my infant in the carrier and haven't had the chance to change in order to make it on time. I was wrong. This was during the pandemic when masks were required indoors. All parents arrived with masks, but upon seeing the staff not wearing them, they also removed them. I attended with my toddler and infant who cannot be vaccinated, so we were also wearing masks and we did not remove them. Quickly, we became the only people wearing masks. When I asked if masks would be worn indoors, I was told no. Again, this was during a time when wearing masks was the safety guidance. I told the staff that I wasn't sure this would be the best fit, and she told me there were plenty of other preschools for my child. That's it. In no more than five minutes, I was bullied, made to feel uncomfortable, and told to leave. I left fuming. I could not believe she would 1. violate safety guidelines. 2. jeopardize the safety of my children. 3. tell me to go somewhere else rather than explain her reasoning. Also, this was done in plain view of other parents quickly setting the tone for the rest of the tour and establishing the type of treatment that is acceptable at this school. Obviously, I left. Looking back, she did me a favor as this is not the kind of environment I would want for my child. I have no doubt that what other parents have said in their posts is honest as the bullying behavior by the staff was in plain view with me. I am left feeling sad about what children are learning at this school about the treatment of others, and about their role in a community. This school is a detriment to all of Lincoln.

Ms. Amanda and Ms. Emma have created a nurturing, thoughtful, and engaging environment where each child is supported as an individual. Our son absolutely adores them and genuinely loves going to school every day. Ms. Amanda's depth of experience is truly remarkable--22 years in education, a BA in Child Development, an MA in Education, a Montessori credential for ages 3-6, and she's even a certified Positive Discipline coach. Her knowledge, paired with her warmth and intentionality, is reflected in everything she does. She meets each child where they are and helps them grow. The third time is a charm because we've loved our time at Turkey Creek Montessori! When our second son was ready for preschool, we went straight back to that teal door. It will always remain one of the best things we did for our son (who's now 8 yo and in grade 2), we see the difference in him in so many tremendous ways and it started with this school. Our 2 year old daughter now goes there, there is no better school for them. Leslie who runs the school has been doing this for 40 years, the team of teachers are all so special and have been with her for such a long time. The energy of the school is priceless, it's calm, structured, dynamic and respectful, and I love that it lays this foundation for the kiddos. The way they teach and learn there really fostered incredible independence in both my kids, and invaluable confidence and a real true love for learning. I couldn't possibly have found a better foundation for my children, and I owe it to Leslie and her crew. Montessori Manor has been wonderful for our son in his first year of half-day preschool. He…read moreabsolutely loves all of his teachers and talks about them constantly. The Montessori program with its hands-on approach has been so good for him. His fine motor coordination skills have improved so much, and he's singing all the time now. The calm, prepared environment immediately put him at ease, and we've watched his confidence, focus, and independence grow every day. We especially appreciate Miss Leslie's leadership. As the director, she's created such an amazing program--her experience and passion shine through in how she trains the teachers and connects with every child. We're so happy he'll be returning next year for full-day. We're truly grateful for such a nurturing start to his education--highly recommend!

Moved to area end of the school year / start of summer and to be honest was worried about kiddo…read more(4yrs old) settling in and being comfortable at a new school. "Application" process was easy and I did a virtual tour via FaceTime with Millie (one of the owners). She was super calm and answered every single question I had & showed me every nook and cranny or the school and where kiddo was going to be. PK2 here we come! 1st day I don't think it ever gets easier sending your kiddo to a new school. Kiddo was a touch apprehensive of a new environment but Teacher Nikki was so incredibly warm and welcoming to kiddo (and hubs and I)! Immediately I knew he was going to be just fine. We met Teacher Monique the next day or so - they coteach PK2 - and she's a gem. Both teachers are warm & caring (like aunties) and their love for teaching shines through! The classroom Together Monique & Nikki have created a thriving classroom full of areas to explore with defined spaces & boundaries. There a reading circle, pet fish, reading pod, and then nap mats for the kiddos to use after lunch before afternoon activities. If the kids don't nap they do have the option to read/look at books quietly. The PK2 classroom has two restrooms with kiddo sized toilets and sinks. Each season brings new decorations to the classroom (and school). There are days when kiddo is having a rough morning and both Teacher Nikki and Teacher Monique are angels getting him into class quickly, settled and then sharing with us that he's ok which I so appreciate because there's nothing worse than leaving your kiddo in tears! The school overall Goddard does a host of extra activities- summer bbq, Father's Day celebration, Trunk-or-Treat, holiday concert to name a few. Each brings the Goodard teachers & families together in a special way, along all to get to know each other a little better, enabling us partner for our kid's. Goddard is a pretty special place. One that is developing our kid in an amazing way and preparing him for kindergarten!

This is not a school, but more like an overpriced and unqualified daycare. When I informed the administration of my complaints, they proceeded to defend their inadequate staff due to nepotism and did not refund my money for the month my kids did not attend due to bullying and poor teaching conditions. The elementary program has one teacher, Ms. Sangeetha, who encourages bullying, shame and treats her students with humiliation, as described by my 6 year old daughter at the time (she is 7 now and has vivid memories and stories of the terrible situation at that school). There is no learning, no homework or evidence that your child is even learning. I also reported Ms Sangeetha's inappropriate behavior of inviting my daughter on field trips without parental consent and not scheduling any meetings with us as parents to review my daughter's progress. My second child was in the toddler children's house with Ms Eva, who from my understanding, is not a Montessori trained teacher but rather simply the mother of another student in Ms Sangeetha's class. I reported Ms Eva and her assistant as being cold and ineffective. My 4 year old son informed us that both teachers left the children alone for long periods of time. He had a horrible experience and felt very neglected. He had a fall and giant knot/bump on his head on his first week there. Ms Eva also was an emotional wreck, who appeared to be crying on a daily basis. The staff that is hired here is questionable. There are "field trips" planned without parent consent or permission slips. My daughter had an accident at school and soiled herself and not one staff member alerted us or helped her. Our experience at this school was horrible and I am considering to take legal action based on the money that was taken from me and the neglect faced by my kids.
