My husband Matt and I spent a lot of time online reviewing photographers' websites and grew frustrated as we couldn't find anything that we liked. Many of them had a stuffy, dated look to them. Dan was referred to us through a family member, and as soon as we looked at the photos on his site we instantly knew that we wanted to work with him. His photos are modern yet classic, and truly capture the joy, beauty and intimacy of a wedding day. When we had a phone call with Dan, and then met him in person for our engagement shoot, our expectations were exceeded again. He is very helpful and responsive with calls and emails, and incredibly friendly, down-to-earth and fun to be around. Spending the afternoon around NYC during our engagement shoot felt like hanging out with an old friend, even though we had just met. Dan had the same ease with our family and wedding party during our wedding day, and we didn't even find out until nearly the end of the evening that he had a very high temperature and was sick all day! He's a true professional -- we never would have known. Planning a wedding is a stressful process (ok, at least for women). Mass produced selfie generation, blah. Dan is a true photojournalist -- his pictures follow a story line that he cultivates for the couple and the family. His expertise won't cost a fortune, either. The sweet spot of competence, character, passion and raw talent intersect in his photography. We, new husband and I, are at the age where "everyone" posts their Facebook engagement/wedding/baby photos. Publicly, we have been told by couples that are seriously dating that they will use Dan. Privately, we have been told by married couples that they regret not learning about Dan before their own engagements and weddings. I intend maintain a relationship with Dan for our family photos. Scheduling my author headshots session was easy -- LeeAnn was super flexible, rescheduling immediately when it rained on my scheduled date. She reviewed my ideas and came up with the perfect location for author headshots. She emailed and texted before the shoot to check in with me, and during the shoot, she was so friendly, creating a fun and positive environment during what could have been awkward (I don't love having my photos taken!). I have a 9 month old and a 2 year old and they didn't always cooperate, but she was great with them. Wearing a mask added another level of difficultly trying to engage with the kids, but she did wonderful, and we appreciated her wearing the mask while in our home. We (bride and groom) are self-proclaimed 'awkward photo takers' and are not naturally adept at knowing how to pose for pictures. Iuliana handled all of that, and effortlessly guided us into poses that made us look so natural in the final shots. She was also amazing at getting our large families gathered into group photos with enough time to allow us to join our cocktail hour (not an easy feat!)
