My GP referred me to this office. Upon speaking to someone about an appointment, I was told I would have to pay for an eye exam despite having insurance. We are retired federal workers and are part of one of the largest block of insured in the nation and by a major eye care carrier. They also said once the insurance was process and they were paid, they would process a refund. We've never experienced this kind of service and promptly cancelled the appointment. read more

I have had vision insurance with the same carrier (Davis Federal Plan) for years. This office told me that I have to contact the insurance company prior to my first visit .... in 20 years I have never done this. I know I have coverage!!! I have ordered glasses online where I submitted the insurance identification number and was approved in 10 minutes. This office obviously does not have a clue. read more

I received Lasix surgery from Mountain Eye Institute and they did an amazing job. The doctors and staff were very helpful in answering any of my questions. The procedure was quick and I was able to get back to work the next day. I would recommend Mountain Eye Institute for anyone looking to get Lasix surgery. read more

There has been a recent trend among doctor offices. They charge you for the office visit. They charge your insurance, and then, a couple of months later, they send you another bill for about twice the amount you originally paid. These people are apparently on that band wagon. I was charged $55 for a contact fitting because I was told that my insurance didn't cover that (even though it's not a cosmetic thing. I have to have GP lenses in order to see). The eye exam I was told was covered (that was most of the visit, the fitting took less than five minutes, since there was no change since my last visit.) I paid $10 for the contacts and was told that the remainder was covered. Today we got a bill for another $120. No explanation. Don't support places that are practicing this form of billing. I know I won't be returning. read more

Not very happy with this office. Because of their carelessness my elderly mother had to make two trips to St. George because the prescription was miss written. Perhaps they are too busy to take quality care of their patients. read more

Absolutely amazing!!!! Dr Duncan did my first eye surgery and there were complications not his fault. I had a lot of swelling in my eye(btw snoring causes pressure inside the eyes). Dr Duncan ordered special medications to prevent it from happening a second time. The medications didn't come because of the Covid situation. Dr Duncan could have done like many Doctors and just went ahead but Dr Duncan cares so very much about you and your eyes that he had me wait #1 for swelling to go down in my first eye and #2 to make sure he had everything needs to prevent a bad outcome. I'm not impressed by very many Doctors but would recommend Dr Duncan to anyone that wants caring and quality. I would give 10 stars if it was an option. read more

I liked Dr. Duncan. He was brisk and thorough and fast. But it seemed like he talked a little too fast for me to take everything in. Then the communication with the front desk was not all it could have been. Like he told me they would give some meds for my eye one time and the staff did not get the word - so i had to stumble through asking them for the sample of something I could not pronounce as they were trying to rush me out the door. Then they did not communicate well with the VA which had approved my treatment and sent me to them. They changed it from a two-eye cataract procedure (with a break in between, of course) to only one eye - rather than one eye first and schedule the second operation at the time. The point being my second eye got delayed longer than it could have (so I was dealing with a patch over one eye for a longer spell than necessary) as they had to request a second authorization and wait for a second approval. For the second eye they scheduled me for 7:00 a.m. so I had to drive in to Cedar in the dark, with one eye with normal vision and the other with my glasses with one lens, wishing that they had given me some consideration as an old man coming from so far out of town - scheduled it sooner with a time slot later in the day. For that second eye surgery they were more rushed than for the first eye. Like they asked me my d.o.b. only twice - as opposed to five times on the first surgery - and came into the change room before I was finished struggling into the surgical gown and one nurse hurried to take my bp, reaching over the other nurse who was inserting the I.V. And they rushed me into the operating room before I was out - which was O.K., but on the first eye they had waited until I was asleep before wheeling me there. Not complaining about the professional services - the surgeries turned out fine - but it didn't help my anxiety level to think that they had someone more important to get to and wanted to just get me out of the way. Maybe it was that they don't feel Viet Nam veterans are worth the trouble or that they just hate dealing with the VA because it tends to not pay. Which I can't blame them for that - but they could have treated me with more humanity or even respect. Then I needed to new glasses - because my new lenses that Dr. D. had inserted into my eyes were for distance, so I needed reading lenses and U.V. protection - I priced the glasses at Mountain Eye and then at Southern Utah Vision and ended up at the latter: they allowed me to use my old frames and came up with a price about 100 dollars less than Mountain Eye - $241.00, which I paid because the VA was stalling on approving them. And BTW Dr. Brown at Southern Utah Vision said the surgery on my eyes was very good when he made the examinations. read more

Terrible: I stopped in before my visit, obviously in person... to make sure that my basic eye exam was covered by my insurance. She said yes and scheduled me. I went for my appointment.... in the mean time I had foot surgery... then started receiving a bill for $150 for my appointment!! ( looks like from the above guy, I should check to see if my insurance company DID PAY!) So being out of work I couldn't start paying til I went back. That was slow going so I CALLED TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON... made a few payments.... then I was In The hospital where I ALMOST DIED!.... there again, out of work for a few months... I called. Once I was back to work they were to be the first paid. I called to pay, they had sent me to collections the day before!! And would not take my payment. Now my bill is $219.... I have to pay for the collection! So.... think about it and go to Walmart or better yet Saint George! read more

Dr. Anderson at Mountain Eye did both my cataract surgeries. He was fantastic. Both my eyes are 20/25. More glasses or contacts and I'm 65 years old and had worn contacts since I was 15. So happy with my new eyes. Great eye doctor. read more
