I have gone to Mt. Garden & Pet for years. Mr. Rick has been a great help and has helped me for my personal home yards with plants and trees. I am the bookkeeper at my Church and also do gardening there. Mr. Rick has been so helpful and kind in ordering trees, bushes and plants there too. I wish him well in his intended retirement. The guy that owns this place is such a jerk. I was just there wanting to purchase ceramic pots. A salesclerk was assisting me when the jerk walked up, interrupted our conversation, sent the clerk to another customer and then just left me hanging. I've tried to look past his poor attitude, but his lack of manners is such a joke. He must really hate women. I tried to shop locally but since this jerk has a stick up his ass, I will spend my money at Home Depot instead. The $1,000.00 worth of plants my landscaper purchased will be returned. read more

Tehachapi pet lodge is no longer selling small animals or roaches for our bearded dragon, so they referred us here. We walked in, two customers and one employee without masks. I am tired of places not protecting customers. I even asked the cashier if she was afraid when people come in without a mask. She replied, "I don't even think of it". We bought 20 roaches and one pinky would have bee maybe 6$ at Tehachapi Pet Lodge. I paid 15.01 for this small amount. If you need feeder I recommend buying online, extremely over priced here. This review is based on the overpricing of feeders and not protecting customers. I have never bought plants or flowers. read more

I love this nursery. It has a wide selection of various types of plants, bushes, trees, ground cover, succulents. Their prices are fair and are a small locally owned business, which I would rather support over a mega store. I also get my feeder mice from them. They have a quant inside full of all kinds of fun nick nakes and gardening things. Seems like I never get out w/o buying something. Friendly staff as well. Stoped in to look at trees since our faithful dog of 16 years had passed away and we wanted to honor his life by planting a tree over his grave site, Kevin as I recall his name to be was super helpful in explaining various options and types of trees. He made several recommendations in regards to trees and also types of fertilizer and other items needed for a successful planting given the soil type in our area, we never felt rushed and appreciated the personal attention we received to make sure we got exactly what we needed read more

Since new management, everything we have purchased has died and in some cases has infected our existing garden. He doesn't understand the plants, shrubs and trees. Pricing on things outside is random, almost made up. There is so much tacky signage about he does now that the place looks like a outdoor thrift shop. read more

Most of what I have purchased here has been great. However, the last time I was there, I purchased 3 climatis plants. Two are doing well and the third has died. I called to see if they would replace it. Sadly, I was told they do not guarantee any of their plants. Guess it will be worth it to find a new place for my plant needs. Very sorry!! read more

I love it here. This is a grass roots cool nursery. Some greenery and plants started in the green house others shipped in...either way the quality is good. Entire staff friendly and knowledgeable about landscaping in Tehachapi. I never go wrong here. Super nice staff and crew!! read more

Mountain Gardens Looks sad from the outside (well least when i went but this is due to it being winter and all their trees have lost their leaves) but go in and they have an amazing selection of trees, flowers, and all of them are plants you could easily grow in the tehapi area. As well as a nice choice of fresh water fish which is what i was after. nicely made a new tank off of them. All the employees are happy friendly and helpful which i find can be hard to find often in yard working shops. I would recommend them. From what i saw prices are very good. I am no master of the garden but seems like all of the plants were happy and healthy. read more

They take into consideration your area and altitude in determining what will work and what will not. They do not sell mainstream plants that you can buy anywhere.
