This has been cancelled on me THREE TIMES either the DAY OF or day before scheduled delivery. At first, i was understanding. Now, I'm convinced I'm being scammed. Chris is money hungry and DOES NOT CARE about his business's reputation OR his customers livelihood. He is here to make a quick buck and he will treat you like crap along the way. The good: ESR made two deliveries of 4-tons each to my home of bocce ball court material. The material is excellent and the bocce ball court is a ton of fun! The support personnel at ESR were very polite and helpful and worked through some supply timing hiccups in a graceful manner. Thank you to Reyna, Layla, Nikki and Aiman! The bad: Neither my contractor nor my bride will work with Chris again. He was rude and vulgar to each of them for no good reason...all they wanted to do was to purchase materials that ESR presumably wanted to sell. This review is about owner Chris and his unapologetic, careless and zero customer service. I never received materials from his company because he would rather talk about politics. Tried to order samples (because they offer to send samples for a fee) through their website in mid-September. Between Sept and now (2.5 MONTHS) I've called 3 times and have been bounced around to various depts only to be told they'll "be shipped soon", which they never were. I wrote an email to Chris - the owner - a few days ago letting him know the situation and letting him know I was disappointed. The response I got back (photo below) was an unapologetic political rant and quite unnerving from someone who owns a business. Zero helpful solutions, zero apologies, zero customer service, zero sh***s about anyone but himself and his agenda. Seemingly there is no industry untouched from becoming a political platform. I'm trying to order rocks, I really don't need to discuss how either of us voted or what you pay your employees. There are SO MANY great examples of businesses out there that actually care for their clients and then there are those who have crumbled under fear of not getting their way and taking it out on their customers, as Chris does. Probably the worst example of a professional company that I've ever tried to work with. I ordered a "listed product" of 12 tons of red lava rock... on their website. I live in Orange county and chose the delivery choice given on their website. It's now three weeks later and have not received my order. I've called on three different times trying to get answers, but received none. On the third call, I was sent an email saying my shipping charge would be almost X3 of what I was given on the site. Complaining, I asked for them to honor my order as I have workers waiting and some being paid to just sit here, because site says orders ship in 24-48 hrs. Not only did the NEXT email say they would not honor my order.... they cancelled the order all together. This after I waited THREE WEEKS for delivery. After that email, I asked for someone to call me to discus. Chris called and in my opinion did not handle it well. He was difficult and defensive. I hope that if you're a customer reading this.... you'll not want to risk doing business with these guys. I called Sepulveda, and my order is going out tomorrow. read more

I started trying to place an order 6 weeks before I needed it. I kept getting customer service associates (who were very polite but not at all helpful) who were not at all empowered to handle sales and they would say that someone would call me back. No one ever did. Because I wanted the material for a bocce ball court there were not a lot of local options. I finally was able to place the order and was assured it would come in time for the work day I had set up with laborers. It did not come. It was three days late and I now have no means to install it. Once again Chris hooked me up with some beautiful gravel for my planter beds. I live in Sacramento and could not for the life of me find any 3/4" crushed gravel in a shade of red. Sure, I could find red lava rock in that size, but the lava texture just didn't mesh with the various other colors of 3/4" crushed gravel in the surrounding planter beds. So I scoured the internet and found ERS. Because their minimum order size was way more than I needed, it made no sense to spend $600 to have a giant bag of gravel delivered to my house. However, the family and I were headed to Palm Springs for Christmas, and would be passing through Visalia on our way home. So I wrote to Chris and asked if I could buy a small quantity of gravel and pick it up on my return trip. He said yes! He encouraged me to stop by the Acton yard to get it. That was too far off the path for me, but Visalia wasn't. While the Visalia yard did not have the color I was looking for, Chris said there was a large bag of 3/4" crushed Mahogany gravel that a customer had ordered and never picked up. He allowed me to take a much as I wanted, for free! Of course I didn't grab enough. Another six months passed and me and the family were headed to Newport Beach for a mini vacation. My wife said "let's get some more gravel." She is so smart. So, I tossed the shovel and some sand bags in the car and texted Chris. He said yes, again! We stopped by the Acton yard this time. The yard worker was a really cool guy. I wish I had gotten his name and given him a tip. He confirmed with Chris and once again I loaded up some bags of gravel. This time I selected some 3/4" Sangria and a few bags of Deep Purple lava rock. They really highlight the deep purple/red of the Emperor One Japanese maple I planted. Chris gave me a sweet price on the deal. Man, I wish I had an acre of landscaping to do just so I could throw some business his way. I am so impressed with ERS. The Acton yard has a really nice selection of beautiful gravel in many colors and sizes. And the employees at ERS are super friendly. What a great company :-) read more

I called back and whoever it was that was helping me was never available . I talked with someone else about a possible sample and we picked one that was supposed to be available. Agreed to drop 3 tons of decomposed granite at top of driveway. Left them on the sidewalk instead. Then gave me EXTREME attitude defending his mistake. Had to hire heavy equipment so as to not impede pedestrian access to the sidewalk on a busy street. Would never, ever do business with again. read more
