Emily at the office was very kind in helping to get us scheduled or maintenance. They provided great customer service! Our tech was very kind and knowledgeable and properly diagnosed the issue. Our tech arrived on time for the diagnostic and repair appointments. They had our issue repaired within about a week of initially diagnosing the issue. We had to wait for parts, our home warranty company's approval, etc. Based on our experience, I highly recommend Mountain Heating & Cooling. We would use them again. read more

RUN!!! Do not use this company. Complete waste of time, energy and money. We hired them to move our mini split during a small remodel. After doing so, the unit not longer work. They took our full payment for "phase one" and were supposed to return after ordering a part they apparently needed to finish the job. Over a month went by after never hearing from them, we reached our several times asking for an update and only when we threatened to escalate the matter did they finally get back to us (clearly they never ordered the part in the first place - waiting until this point to order the part). They finally came back to attempt finishing the job and were unable to make the unit work again. They left the site and said they would get back to us with a solution. They ghosted us again - my husband had to call on a different line to finally get an answer. They then proceeded to say we actually needed to hire an electrician to get the job done. We finally hired another HVAC company that came Immediately and resolved our issue. We are out thousands because of them. We asked for at least a partial refund but again have not heard back. Scheduled an appointment last week for this week. The only day that they could come was Wednesday due to the job being 4 hours. Scheduled the job from 8-12. I took time off from work to facilitate this repair. Wednesday the day of the repair no technician at 8:00. I call at 8:15 to be told he should be there at nine due to him having to go by the warehouse to get the parts, the same parts that you said last week were in stock. Called back at 9:10 to be told he would be there at 10:00. I had to be at work by 1:00 so I had to reschedule. Business is very unprofessional and not reliable. In call around their prices are high compared to other companies. Only reason I went through them is my insurance company utilizes there company. I will be filling a complaint through the insurance company and recommend that they go with another company. read more

Mountain Heating & Cooling- Previously Mountain Plumbing- Installed my Water Heater in the fall of 2023 via my American Home Shield Warranty. I paid for a few parts out of pocket but it was a very reasonable/low number for a warranty replacement. AHS covers labor and the tank, and I pay for parts or permitting. The water heater spontaneously burned itself up in Feb '26. I requested AHS resend Mountain out because they did the original install. They come out Feb 2nd to evaluate. I ask the plumber to look at the toilet that I think is leaking as well. The next thing I know, he says "toilet is off, I can't replace it". Didn't warn me that the toilet would be removed and didn't check to make sure I had another. He disconnects the WH, said I need an electrician- scheduled to come out the next day. Electrician visited the next day. 2 day's later. I get the attached quote. Not only is it a blanket high dollar estimate that does not affect my situation at all, but the permit included was for HVAC permit services. I called the company and they refused to tailor the quote for my situation. I was told that Mountain Plumbing went under because they weren't charging people correctly. When I said I couldn't foot that bill for a warranty replacement. I was offered financing that was a higher interest rate then listed on their website. None of the terms matched. Because Mountain refused to fix the quote to reflect what would actually need to be done instead of a blanket install estimate, AHS would not proceed with the fix. I fought for 3 weeks with this stone hearted company. I called and requested to speak to the owner but he was recovering from surgery. Meanwhile, a single mom and her 2 small kids are without hot water for 3 weeks. That's not even the whole story. Mountain Heating & Cooling had an expired license for their plumbing permits when they performed work at my home. I spoke with L&I and they confirmed that a Plumbing license is separate from an HVAC license. I took screenshots and included the dates in the images. They were not legally allowed to work or provide bids while their license was suspended. Did they apologize? No. They argued and don't seem to know their own licensing requirements. Mountain also lied to AHS and said they were permitted the entire time, despite evidence they were not. Mountain treated me inhumanely and with disregard. They tried to extort money out of me because having hot water in winter months with small kids is essential. They created undue hardship and distress on my and my children's lives. They are not an honest company. I had several other plumbers come out to give me a quote and none of them quoted such an exorbitant fee for a warranty replacement. I did however received multiple notes regarding the previous install by Mountain where none of the piping to that tank, hosing, or earthquake straps were up to code/installed properly orginally. Mountain wanted to take advantage of me and tried to give me empty reasons to do a complete replacement of all those line items. If I didn't agree to the quote, no work would be done, but then Mountain would make me pay the amount I agreed to regardless of if those items needed to be replaced or not. Mountain used specific language to ensure AHS wouldn't cover these fees. AHS doesn't pay the normal rate of labor, so Mountain took this opportunity to try and squeeze it out of me. They called all items "Modifications" but AHS doesn't cover modifications, just installs and replacements. Mountain Heating & Cooling is deceitful and dishonest. I would take your business elsewhere. So unfortunately we had a claim with American Home Shield. Sent them out. Showed them the problem (which was stated in the claim) they said "we cant do that now, we will have to come back" called for 3 weeks. Talking with Home Shield and they were waiting on Mountain, finally they submitted a work order for $1200. We opened the claim on April 8th, as of May 13th. American home Shield couldn't get ahold of them. I had to resubmit another claim with a new vendor. The leak we told them about now caused kitchen ceiling damage. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They initially came to my home December 2nd for a leak from my upstairs kitchen to the drain going downstairs. The tech replaced the pipe. The next day it was leaking and so was the plumbing under the sink, that was never leaking before. I called my warranty company and let them know. Mountain came back on December 18th. The tech (same one as before) said that he placed the wrong pipe and replaced it with the correct size pipe. No leaks. Good. He went upstairs and tried to fix the leak that was created by him replacing the pipe that goes downstairs. He couldn't fix it and said he would put in an order this was December . Order never got done correctly so I then had to call my warrant company and mountain to have them schedule the fix. Mountain said it wasn't their fault that the kitchen started leaking (even though it was. It wasn't leaking until he came and cut into my wall and replaced that pipe. The original order states that the link is not the kitchen sink. It's the drain pipe). This was never called in or communicated correctly. So I had to call and set it up. I had to pay another fee for them to come back and fixed what they created. Whatever. I paid it. They came back on January 22nd and placed new plumbing under the kitchen sink. Brand new plumbing with the same tech. Within a week it was leaking. I called my warranty again! They contacted mountain and mountain sent another person plumber on February 3rd. He came in, looked, and didn't fix anything. His exact words "it was leaking because it wasn't tightened. I tightened it and it shouldn't leak". Then he left. Well on February 22nd the entire piece came disconnected while I was washing dishes and water went everywhere including to my downstairs. Dropping down the walls. Lots of damage. I called my warranty company and they told Mountain. Mountain came back February 26th to fix the issue. And once they were done, they placed another charge to my warranty company for me to pay another fee...so I'm paying for you guys to fix what you messed up on? Seriously lol. That's crazy. Good thing I took endless photos and videos. I reported them to the AG because why did you have to come to my home 5 times? It should've been 1 and done. But you sent inexperienced people and charged me 3 times for their errors. I shouldn't get charged for the inexperience in your employees. Now there's water damages due to pipes being incorrectly installed and flooding the kitchen down to the basement, that has to be rectified. Yes we are looking into legal options. read more

The tech that came out to service our HVAC did nothing to fix our system other than tell us that we needed to clean our vents. So, we did. Same problem. Mills came out and had us back up and running in less than an hour. Our gas pressure was three times over the max and a sensor needed to be cleaned. read more

Called then to repair the drain line on our system and after they left turned the system on and the next water pouring from our system. No calls returned until I didn't pay the bill to get there attention. Still refused to even come even back and look at it. Finally had to pay when they sent it to collections. Paid $900 to mountain cooling and air and then another $700 to a second company that completed the job they did not. As far as I can tell, the business overall including the owner do NOT care to practice business ethically. It's been 2.5 years since this company sold my home warranty company (and us) a new furnace and heat pump, As our newly purchased house system was running on emergency heat to keep warm. Upon installing (and after getting our money) On the day of installation, the 2 young men sent to install the unit tell us that there is no main power line from the fuse box to our heat pump. So they put the new unit they installed on emergency heat, exactly the same position we were in before they sold us the unit. Now, I still don't know if this was an purposeful UDAP situation but their claim is that they didnt find it when they scoped the job. They either sold us a unit they knew would not fix our problem, or they missed it when scoping the job. Either way, the liability is on them. The office manager told us, "all we had to do was get the line ran", and they could come back out and finish the job they were paid for. We live VERY remote, so getting an electrician was impossible during covid, in addition to that, supply was an issue. After a year of being unable to secure an electrician, we spent 2 years learning how to run the line ourselves. During this time Mountain heating and air, ignored our calls, stopped responding to our pleas for help and the owner (who is a licensed electrician) who promised to assist us, never followed through. Call after call was ignored. Here we are 2.5 years later, in the same scenario, just a newer model, out thousands of dollars, and they finally stepped up and made an appointment to come out and fix it Dec 19th, but canceled via emIal with an attached invoice for $646.80 to do something they were already paid for 2.5 years ago. We have now hired a different professional to fire off the heat ppumpnow that the direct line is fixed and will be following up within all our legal rights the law allows for compensation and damages from Mountain Heating and Air. They just installed the furance and walked away. There is no space to put in a filter. 4 years later, the main part is ruined by the dirt. The furnace is over heated. The bad air inside of the house caused serious allergy. Now I need to spend $10,000 to replace a new furnace. Professionals should take resposibility to let the home owners understand they do need to pay extra to have the filter access installed. I hopeto it won't happen other houses. Imagine a doctor does half surgery because the insurance just covers 50% of the cost. He doesn't care what would happen to the patient. It shows 1 year warranty on Mountain website. They damaged our new roof, and are trying to bill us for doing nothing. We hired them to fix a leak in our attic - apparently condensation was creating a drip. They "fixed it". The drip started up again, so we called them back out. The guy spent 5min up there, said he didn't have the right type of pipe, and the office would call us. It was early enough that normally they'd just run to Home Depot and grab what they needed. Hell, we'd have done it for him if he told us what to get. Instead, he just left. Didn't show us pictures or anything. Turns out he broke our attic stairs. And that was it. Now they're trying to charge us $164. A charge we were never informed of. Trip charges are normal, but they didn't tell us that would happen. And it would be ridiculous to bill us a second trip charge just because he didn't have the 2feet of pipe he needed. And they listed it on the invoice as diagnosis... of what? They didn't say. We waited two days, and heard nothing. During that time, we went up into the attic (using a ladder since the stairs are now broken) and found that when they'd done the prior "repair", they jacked a pipe up into roof - it was lifting the roof and causing a leak. We called our roofer, and he confirmed their work damaged the roof and there were two leaks. It's been over a week and they still haven't actually even given us the diagnosis they say we're supposed to be paying for. No analysis, and they'll only let us talk to the receptionist. They gave us one picture of a guy's hand pointing at a pipe that had no visible signs of damage... and appears to be the one they "fixed" the first time. Very helpful. Piss poor service from an inadequate repairman. The female office manager was just as ignorant and told me that furnaces last a lifetime and that they currently have a customer with a 70 year old furnace that works just fine so the likelihood that the furnace will be replaces, is slim. This was before they showed up to my home. After the repairman took a fake photo to pretend there wasn't a problem (because the photo was not in the area of concern), the repairman was questioned about the photo being in the wrong area vs. where the area of concern was. The repairman had to take the correct photo and then determined that there were obvious issues; one that requires a furnace replacement. The repairman refused to provide me (the homeowner) with a copy of his report then reported to my warranty company that there is no need for repairs or replacement and closed the open ticket issue. The repairman had to keep calling the office for answers during the visit and he was so lazy that he didn't want to replace the furnace filter or thermostat. read more

They did a perfect installation and follow-up on the installation, I am also on a monthly program that I highly recommend: for a small monthly fee, you get a prewinter furnace inspection and a presummer AC inspection. they are several other perks when it comes to repairs. I like my HVAC to just work and not have to worry about it and it has. Mountain has been responsive and on the ball. I highly recommend them. read more

The tech was contacted through First American Home warranty. He immediately found the problem with the ductwork but failed to properly report it to First American. He told me my ductwork was between the floor and insulation. It isn't. I have inspection pictures to the contrary. He was very cavalier telling me my claim would be denied. It was because he reported my heater worked which wasn't my issue. I wish I had the name of the tech. He shouldn't be doing claim evaluations. He is opinionated and assumes a single woman is an idiot. Wrong. I found three suggestions he should have made to minimize the issue. He proposed none of them. Be where. Research your issue before having this company triage your issue especially if you have new homeowners insurance through First American. read more

American Home Shield sent me these guys. With a 2.5/5 rating on BBB.org, that should already tell you enough. I called them to fix my buckling attic furnace as well as duct work in my crawl space, since I felt heat escaping through the floors. This was done in May and since we had a really hot summer, I didn't notice the repairs weren't done until September when my furnace started turning on again. Not only were the repairs not done, they apparently made it worse because many feet of the ducting now had no sleeves on it. This part isn't their fault, per se, but now that I want to engage AHS to fix the problem they made worst, they want to charge me another $100 just to come out since it's been more than 30 days. Tech was very nice, but the cadet heater they replaced started an electrical fire in my wall on the second use after installation (and both uses were to "burn off" a nasty odor as instructed by the tech). I call, and they say "good luck" because they no longer have the tech who installed the cadet heater working for them. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Update: after having an electrician come fix their issue, turns out the Mountain Heating and Cooling literally ignored a warning on the new cadet heater about mixing 240V and 120V wiring/products. That the tech told me the smell, increased fan speed, and noticeably increased volume of running was all "normal..." well, had the fire burned my house down, let's just say I think Mountain Heating and Cooling would be very liable. This isn't just an avoid scenario, but they're performing work they aren't licensed to do without informing their customers and - wait for it, it gets worse - telling their customers information that puts their lives at risk. Our HVAC/heat pump was diagnosed early June by Kelly and recommended replacement due to age and availability of replacement parts. Our "home warranty" handled the particulars of the replacement units. The Office staff failed to keep us informed as parts arrived and did not call as promised for two weeks. The units were replaced on 07-22-2021. The installation process went smooth Both Paxton and Torrence were courteous, knowledgeable and worked well together. Their work was acceptable and clean up was done. Paxton reviewed the work that was done, gave us a review of the newly installed programable thermostat and warranty process as well as the county required inspection. The reason I didn't give a "5" was the office staff not calling back as promised and the original installation date was not met. Even though this was due to a technician calling in sick. We started having problems with our heater on December 25th 2022, so on December 26th 2022 we contacted American Home shield warranty company, who we have had an account with since we moved into our home over a year ago. They took our $100.00 deductible and sent out a technician from Mountain heating and cooling LLC on December 30th, he informed us that we have a bad high-pressure switch on our compressor unit and would need to remove the refrigerant to change it, and told us it would be over $1,000 out of pocket to replace the refrigerant that he would be removing. The technician then left without leaving us any sort of paperwork or even a business card. Since then, we have contacted them repeatedly to find out when the repair was going to be done can they informed us several weeks later that the technician still hadn't submitted the evaluation of the needed repairs so we asked them to contact Mountain heating and cooling LLC to get things started since the weather has been below freezing many nights. We called them again a couple days later and they told us they needed to order the part so they could send it to the technician. This went on for multiple days with us calling for updates and after another week we informed them that we found the correct part for $36 and would purchase it and it would be delivered in 2 days and asked if they would send the tech out to install it and they informed us that no, if we purchased our own part they would not cover any of the repair. We also found the refrigerant new and factory sealed for $35 a pound but they refuse to use our parts. They finally sent an estimate for repair on January 11th for $700 cost to us out of pocket even though we have a warranty with them, to replace a condensing unit and made a note that the pressure switch was shorted out (the pressure switch is not shorted out is open and our condenser unit inside the house they quoted us for is fine and was never looked at) They informed us by text message sent on that date the part would arrive on January 25th, and they would schedule the technician to come out we didn't hear anything from them so we called them on the 26th and they told us it would be another week. We contacted them again on January 31st to ask when they were going to be completing this repair and they told us they only get their parts delivered on Wednesdays. We are supposed to call them back yet again on Thursday the 2nd to find out if they have received the part that they ordered, so they can send it to the technician. Contacted them on 02/02/2023 and they have not received the part and again we play the waiting game this company needs to work with the home warranty company who keeps telling us that it's Mountain heating and cooling LLC fault that they can authorize the repair and Mountain heating and cooling LLC has lost their purchase order. read more

We have a home warranty ( super beneficial albeit a slow process) our furnace started having issues so we put in a claim. I recognize we are In a rural area and it is harder to find companies willing to take the trek out. But they found mountain heating and cooling. I also recognize we need to take initiative sometimes because the communication between the 3 parties us vs warranty vs contractor can be difficult. So I called, I also totally understood when the nice gal on the phone told me she would get us in as soon as she could but lots of people have been having their heat and they just had a loss of an entire truck and driver after a bad accident, so not only were they short a truck and short a contractor they were also now having to reschedule all of the customers that were previously set. The gentleman that came up to to do the diagnosis. My husband thought was great he figured out really quickly based on information. My husband provided and visually looking himself that it was the gas valve and computer. Ray He explained the process of writing up the repair submitting it to the warranty company and waiting for their approval. Once approved they order the parts since they are again a small company and I'm sure it would be very difficult to keep all supplies on hand all the time not to mention expensive. When they have the parts physically they call us to schedule the repair. We got the call and within 3 day our furnace was repaired! If you have a warranty company please don't blame the small business for the time it takes for you to get serviced when someone else is paying the bill and definitely be realistic your not the only one figuring out your heater isn't up to working so hard. read more

Extremely poor experience. Would negative stars if possible. Submitted repair requests through warranty for fixing furnaces in two homes. Technician went for initial diagnosis, but went MIA since then. Phone calls go to VM and nobody ever calls back. Warranty company says technician ordered parts last week (more than a month after initial visit). In summary: it's been two months since we are out of heat with no response or ETA for fix in the middle of extreme winters here. Don't waste your time or money with them!!! read more

Recently I lost hot water due to some boiler issues. I called our home warranty company for help, they assigned it to Mountain Heating & Cooling. They sent a tech, who spent 30 minutes troubleshooting the system. We have a radiant heating system and average tech do not know about radiant heating system. However, this tech claimed that he has been in business since 1980's and he has seen and fixed everything under the sun. He was courteous to brief me on the problem. According to him, 3 out of 6 water circulation pumps were not working and the water heater was leaking. He said he was going to send the home warranty company the estimate to get approval to fix the problem. Next, I did not hear from them in two weeks, when I followed up they said they haven sent the diagnostic to the home warranty company. I was finally able to see the diagnostic on the dashboard of the home warranty company after a couple of days. It did not provide any diagnostic, it simply said they wanted to replace the entire system, all 6 circulation pumps, water heater, boiler, tanks, backflow preventing valve for $21,000. Of course the home warranty company declined because this much amount was not covered under my contract. I called another HVAC company at my own expense to get second opinion. They said, only 3 pumps were bad and the backflow prevention pump needed to be replaced and they quoted me $3100. I find Mountain heat unethical. Do not use them. read more

I had them come out to service my furnace for winter. We just moved in and the furnace is fairly new so I could have probably skipped the service or done it myself but since this is our first house I wanted to make sure everything was good to go. My technician was Carlos and he was very professional and really knew his business. He made sure everything was working and calibrated correctly and didn't just do a quick clean and run. Brief summary: I have a non-functioning Mitsubishi Electric mini-split (heating function not working) and unfortunately had Mountain Heating & Cooling assigned to me by my home warranty company. It has now been 56 days since they initially evaluated the unit and now it doesn't even turn on. I have no faith in this company and urge you to seek the services of another company for your heating/cooling needs. Mountain Heating & Cooling is: - Completely incompetent (their technician claimed that he must piecemeal the system and fix each issue as they were discovered). This technique has been refuted by the 3 other HVAC companies that I have had come out and evaluate my unit - Staffed by low quality human beings. I rarely call out people by name, but I believe naming HEATHER bears relevance in the context of the degree of her rudeness and unhelpfulness. Given the lack of progress and difficulty maintaining communication with anyone at this company, I requested that they try to expedite their service because our house has no heating system (seller of our house misled us into believing that there was an adequate heating system in place) and a newborn baby. Heather's terse response (filled with the tone of annoyance): "this is just the nature of the beast." She then hung up after saying: "yup." - Difficult to communicate with: do not expect a call back. Their voicemail system has apparently "been down." It seems that Mountain Heating & Cooling does not appreciate this to be a problem as it's been ongoing for at least 2 months now.... Our heater died right at the start of winter, Mountain Heating & Cooling handled everything from beginning to end on the installation of our new heater. It was quick, clean, efficient, and professional. They responded to all our questions and concerns right away, and the installation was done promptly. I bought a new house and the inspector missed the fact that the furnace wasn't working, so my first night here as it started to cool off, I could hear the furnace rapid cycling (I learned that term when I woke up enough to google "whyyyy does my forced air keep turning on and off every three seconds?!!!") Mountain Heating and Cooling to the rescue! Their scheduler was great about squeezing me in for a same-day appointment, and the repairman Joe was timely, polite, and most importantly, he fixed it in record time! He had the circuit board he needed in his truck, replaced the gas valve, explained everything, took the time to tell me how often I should replace the filters, and now I'm sitting here getting warm and writing this review. Then they were back out to what i called American homeshield for to add more Freon but instead was told he is going to be putting in a dye/sealant. He never came back out to check to see if the sealant worked or if there was dye anywhere. basically failed and my ac went out. They came back out and did basically nothing. put a needle into my vent and a pound of freon. his levels weren't dropping on his reading tool. There's a leak in my a/c somewhere. fast forward to day They cancelled my appointment without consulting me because they wont send their tech out for 4hrs to do the leak test without the txv piece. didn't get a phone call I was told in a email, completely unacceptabl.This company doesn't care this should have been dealt with properly. I fired them called my warranty company and got a new company to come out. We even got a second opinion after Mountain came out on Friday and there's nothing wrong with the txv piece. There's a reason this company has the rating it does! stay away don't waste your money with them! read more

Would not recommend this company. Since owning the house for 1 year, we have had them come out 4 times to fix the furnace. Always saying it something else, but the furnace keeps breaking. We wouldn't have continued to use them, but they are the "preferred" company for our home warranty and we have to use them. They make us wait weeks to come out and diagnose, while we have no heat in the middle of winter. The house has gone down to 52 degrees and the only reason it's that warm is because we are using space heaters and our fireplace. Then they cancelled due to weather. After rescheduling, they no call, no show. We called the office several times, left messages and no answer. Called the emergency line too and nothing. Finally, after posting on Facebook about our experience, we get a call that they are on their way, hours after the appointment time. So disappointed and frustrated that my family has had to go through the holidays and winter with this. read more

This regards a problem I had last year with the furnace component of my heat pump system. I am reporting it now because I tried to get some new help that has returned now that the weather has been warming and an old problem has come back. I called American Home Shield to get some help, but they told me that Mountain was the only company they had that was on contract with American Home Shield for my area. I canceled the request with AHS. Last year, Mountain came out several times for the same problem. Eventually, a circuit board burned up. A repair person came out and replaced the circuit board, but now the system wouldn't even turn on. So, he advised me to call an electrician; it had to be in the breaker panel. Now, with my paying extra for an electrician, the electrician found the electrical panel was just fine, but the Mountain man had left a wire disconnected inside the furnace box he had just "repaired." So, rather than have Mountain put me through the wringer again, I have given up on American Home Shield for this repair and will pay the extra money to get the job done right this time. read more

She was open, warm, receptive and caring (not to mention competent). Next, our first repair person (Noah Dean) arrived on time and made a quick/accurate diagnosis. The only reason I give them a second star is because I think their workers are pretty good. But, forget getting any work done if you have to depend on the office staff to make an appointment or even return your calls. I am 79 years old and haven't had a furnace this winter. One of the men came out and determined what the problem was. Went back to the office that I was supposed to hear from. Finally called them myself. They have the part and the price is good. My city's low income minor home repair will pay for it. That's the last we've heard. I've left messages, the city woman has left many messages and not ONE SINGLE one has been responded to. The lady from the city in one message, asked if they want the work or not? No response. I don't get it and don't understand the problem. I have a hot water boiler, which I love, so hard to even find a company who works on boilers. I am so disappointed. I will have a horrendous power bill with using electric heaters all over the house. If you have had good luck with them, good for you. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!! read more
