I always love coming to Mountain High Outfitters whether it be this location, the one in the Summit, or the one in Cahaba Village. I feel like I see the most sales at this location. They tend to have off season items at up to 75% off which is great if you can find your size. This location also seems to have the most items in terms of variety and selection whereas at the other two locations you will often see each t-shirt in only one size left and no more in the back. Really cool store located at the Galleria mall. They have everything hiking related you could possible want. They have all sorts of hiking shoes (several brands to select between) as well as high end flip flops, sandals, water shoes, etc. Clothing selection is equally as good. Several items that would work well for hiking on hot or cold days. Great name brands for all the types of clothing. In addition to the clothing, they have all sorts of Yeti products including coolers. Tents and a huge selection of back-packs. Really the only thing that brings them down a star is the prices. They are on the high side, however these are top end name brands that sell at a high price point anywhere they are sold. Before your next outdoor adventure pay these guys a visit. read more

This location of MHO is one of the more convenient ones. I was in search of a pair of Swiss ON shoes and MHO is one of the few places that carries the brand. I stop by with my partner on a shopping trip to take a look at the selection. The girl who works the shoe area delivered customer service that was beyond expectations. This review is purely based off of work ethic and customer service skills alone. She was informative, patient, and most of all very help and offer the highest assistance to make sure they could get me the shoes in my size although their location did not have it in stock. read more

Called in looking for a certain jacket that was on sale after checking two other stores and he was able to find the only one left in the company and hold it for us. Shortly After he noticed it had a small pinhole in the collar, he gave us a discount on top of the sale. It was honest of the owner to tell me about the pinhole and offer the discount, I probably would not have noticed it. read more

This is a great store for well-to-do outdoorsmen. I am NOT an outdoorsman, nor am I wealthy, but our whole family loves to go to this store. My son spends all of his Christmas money here. I like to pretend I am a hiker/camper/fisherman. They have many many brands, sizes from youth to XXL adult (though the youth sizes are a little scant) and even accessories. I've been coming to this store for years. I remember when it was half the size it is now. I've purchased sunglasses, hats, clothes and shoes here. When they were popular they had the best selection of OTBT shoes for my wife. My son gets a pair of flops from here every year. Today we were just messing around. I'd purchased one of those BHM sweatshirts for my wife that looks like it's about 20 yrs old. It's soft and she loooves it. It was likely one of her favorite Christmas gifts this year. I found a super soft long sleeve T of similar design for her today. We walked around the store looking for a particular type of rain jacket for my wife. I didn't find what I was looking for, but the employees were very friendly and helpful. Especially Emily. So my daughter doesn't like just anyone. She generally ignores most people. She loved Emily. She is a high school to maybe early college aged little girl that works there. She had the best little personality. Super friendly. My daughter took to her immediately and they played tag and hide and seek in the store as I looked around. I appreciated her taking a few minutes to interact with my daughter. You don't get that in most places. The store itself is large with varied popular outdoor wear and some camping, backpacking, disc golf products. The prices are not exactly low. They do; however, put a considerable number of their products on sale during changes in season. I've gotten some great deals over the years. I've also had my feelings hurt by paying full price. This is one of the few stores in the area that carry a current variety of products from larger well known outdoor brands such as Patagonia and North Face. I got one of my pairs of Coasta's here and it was cheaper than anywhere else at the time. There are deals if you have the time to shop and don't have an absolute particular item in mind. read more

High end outdoor clothing store located in the mall. Everything you want from sandals to hats. Yeti coolers to tents. T-shirts and socks. Pants and gloves. On a Friday night I counted 8 employees. That was roughly 2 employees per customer. If your looking for a local retailer of Patagonia, North Face, and Marmot this is your place. Everything in this store is high price but these manufacturers are high dollar so no wiggle room. read more
