    Beautiful lake with paddle boats!
    Daniel B.

My family and I had a chance to stay here this past weekend and we absolutely loved it! As soon as we pulled in, we knew it was was going to be a great stay because the pool was inviting and the campground was so clean maintained. The campground is family owned and operated and are extremely friendly. There is also quite a lot to do here on property. The resort includes a nice lake for paddle boating, canoeing, fishing, and swimming, a game room with arcade games, a pool table, and ping pong table, and outdoor horseshoes, checkers, chess, and a large playground with pirate ship! The pool they have has two water slides that are awesome and it's heated to keep it warm with the cold New England air. They also have a nice camp store with everything you could possibly need for camping to include games for a rainy day as well. The bath house is the cleanest I have ever seen on a campground and it is definitely cleaned regularly. If you are looking for an amazing campground to try out, you will not be disappointed with Mountain Lake Resort!!!

    Site #77 lakeside views

Excellent campground experience! Overall it's a gem. Has great view (site) options, amenities, lake front or near lakeside with impeccable grounds. This is the kind of place people return to for downtime or family time. Fresh muffins, baked daily, provide an experience option worthy of pursuing for a breakfast alternative. Careful, They might just become a daily habit. The office staff are rockstars and pleasant to work with to ensure the best outcome of your experience.

Love this place!! It's my favorite place and love the owners. They are so nice. The place you can tell they take pride in the campground.

    Sunset at the lake.

Mountain Lake is my favorite campground to go to. It is extremely clean and well taken care of. The family who owns it is extremely nice. They have crafts for the kids. The lake is good for fishing, swimming, and kayaking/canoeing. The pool is a perfect spot to swim and have some fun on the water slides. There are arcade games and playset for the kids to play. The view is amazing and stargazing is perfect on a good night. The campground is friendly for all ages. Everyone is so sweet and I can't wait for the next trip.

The new pool and water slides.

This is a very clean, well maintained campground. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The store is very well stocked with anything you might have forgotten. They have just finished a new pool with two water slides for children(over 36") and adults. I don't know who has more fun. Probably the adults. They have shaded tent sites to full pull through RV sites. They also have cabins a Tipi and a yurt. The restrooms are always clean and so is the laundry room. This is a very family friendly place to stay.

This was my first time camping with my RV. I couldn't have picked a better place! Maria is the best, facilities are top notch, restrooms were immaculate, they had everything I needed in the store, and the other campers were all very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Beautiful landscape, the trees are mature and love the playground a cross from our site. The new slides are great too.

This location is perfect. Just small enough to be cozy and the sites, trees, pool, owners were amazing. We will come back again. Love it.

The view from our site number 78, majestic and peaceful. Loons even made a visit this morning with a beautiful mist over the lake.

We rented one of the larger campers and it worked out great for us. They have a small general store where you check-in that has hot coffee, icees, different drinks and alchoholic drinks and some swag to buy. They have lots of activities for kids to do in the late afternoon/early evening, a nice playground, volley ball nets, basketball court, arcade and hay rides. The place felt very safe and all of the kids were riding their bikes and scooters all around the camp area and laughing and playing together. Our particular camper was OK. I would not call it a luxury unless you are comparing it to an actual tent. The reason being that the AC did not work - it barely cooled off the small space and did not reach to the upper bedroom and the beds were like sleeping on plywood. I did speak to the desk about the beds and was told they hadn't gotten into that particular unit yet to add in mattress toppers. Having the outdoor kitchen area was great and the small fridge is perfect to store any sodas or beverages you bring that don't need to take up room in the inside small fridge. The major complaint about the camper is that they had scented plugins in every single outlet and even some free standing ones all over the place - it made the fake smell unbearable for the first day. While we were there it was water weekend and we were able to go to Santa's Village one night with just the others from the campground which was so much fun! We will definitely be back.

The employees in the store were nice and helpful. No issues the first time. 4.5 stars. Our second time was in 2024. One pool was out of service due to recent flooding so the other pool was packed all the time. The store employees were again nice and helpful. Our site's septic was uphill making emptying near impossible. There was an odor in the area. Almost like a wet stale smell. We also had a mouse or mice running around our site. Around 8pm the employees were driving these motorized golf cart. There were three of them, all appeared to be doing laps for no apparent reason. The cart being driven but the female employee was operated in a safe slow manner. The other two, operated by two younger males, were being driven a lot faster. Felt like they racing each other. One would drive down the road weaving back and forth. I think he was trying to miss the uneven ruts in the road but slowing down would have achieved the same thing. The slamming of the dumpster lids after 8pm by the employees was annoying. Everyone was sitting around their fires and the slamming noise was just uncalled for. Probably will try a different place next year.

My wife and I and small dog arrived in the afternoon but you can check on until 9pm. The park offers 34 tent/trailer sites and 25 lean-to shelters. We stayed in the lean-to shelter "Yew" (pictured). The limit is 6-8 people per camp site. We had an amazing time camping. Parking was easy (each site can accommodate 2-3 cars) and the lean-to was large and could sleep 3-4 people easily. Showers were warm and cost $0.50 each and lasted 5 minutes. The bathrooms were clean. We also had private lake access (see photos) which was amazing and we were not far from the spigot/restrooms. Firewood, Ice, and Ice Cream Sandwiches are available for purchase at the gate. Fishing and Kayaking were available but we did not take advantage this time. Mostly loved getting away from the city for a few days (although the drive to VT was long) and soaking up the nature while reading magazines and snacking. We didn't feel like we were wedged in with tons of other people but also didn't feel so remote that we got too creeped out. Friendly park ranger (gave our dog lots of treats) and perfect weather. Only complaint is the bugs! Bring lots of citronella candles and bug spray. There is a Dollar General store 20-25 minutes away that has this stuff. Have fun!

Hi Alice. So I…read moreneeded to get away from family and friends for awhile. Ended up choosing this place and I was glad I did. It's a very nice and peaceful campground about 4.5 hrs from my home. Alice took me around the campground to show me all the tent sites. I picked a huge site (t-18) which was very secluded and away from the main area. And it was only $250 for the month. I believe they are the cheapest around. They have great rates for seasonal campers as well. So I got there and had to get my car towed, twice while there. Alice,a very cool lady, offered me use of a golf cart since she knew I have breathing issues and several stents in my heart. To me,this was as nice as someone could get. While stranded, she brought me wood, even went in town and got me ice so my food wouldn't spoil! How cool for her to do that, not really knowing me. Alice and Brian are very very nice people!! They keep the place clean, the bathrooms are clean also, which to me is very important. The views are just great,Burns Lake Campground sits atop a hill that has views of the mountains in front of all the site up top. The sunsets are awesome. Plus it's located close to many things to do. Even though they don't have a beach (YET) there is a free state park right on the same road. There's trails to hike and a nice sandy beach. But there is a pool on the campgrounds. Access for putting in a canoe right there by the lake. Alice and Brian are new owners of this place, and from my knowledge, they have fixed up the place. All new bathrooms. What's nice about them,is they are a full bath in each room. Toilet, shower and sink. They offer soap and paper towels for washing hands and face right in the bathroom too. There are no men's or women's rooms. Each one is for who ever wants to use them. We had planned on going back for a spectacular fall. But unfortunately my father in law was diagnosed with lung cancer and we had to postpone. This is the place to relax and enjoy the scenery!! Brian and Alice ARE very god people! Give this place a try,it's worth it. Richard

A gate code is needed to access the campground. We rented a cabin here. There are four. Two of them are 'deluxe' and have indoor cook tops. The others do not allow indoor cooking and have grills outside. The kitchen was very well kitted with everything you could need. The Deluxe cabin we rented was decorated in a cabin style with bear and moose motif items. A table for two in the kitchen, a couch for two or three and a nice rocker. A small desk is in the corner of the livingroom with a kitchen chair for seating. Hooks for coats and a place for shoes by the door. The gas fireplace is shut off in the summer because the pilot heats up the cabin. They are on from Septemer 1st. The bedroom has a queen bed, (linens and blankets provided) full dresser, bedside tables, another kitchen chair (a total of four in the cabin) and luggage rack. Two narrow closets included hangers, extra pillows and towels for the pool or hot tub. Three quarter bath was well maintained. Two bath towels and one hand towel. Hand soap on vanity. Hair dryer and extra TP under sink. Shelves for toiletries. Clothes hook on back of door. Two seats and a table are on the front porch. Our parking space was in front of the porch. A picnic table and firepit are to the right of the porch, at the end of the parking space. Our porch faced the gravel road into the campground. The campground is tiered from the road down to the river with camper spots on each tier. No spots are directly on the river. A field designated as a dog exercise area is next to the river, then a small, rocky beach to the river. The road noise is heard throughout the campground, even at the brook where the river babbles over the stones, which is very pleasant. The onsite store rents tubes for riding the river. A path to the left of the dog area ends where you can put the tube in the water, ride it to the end of the beach and repeat the process. Laundry, public bathrooms and shower bathrooms are in a newer, climate controlled building near the playground. A pass code is needed to enter. Two pools and a hot tub are near the office/store. Mini-golf is behind the store. Dump station on the way out near the dumpsters. Gravel roads are maintained. Some site have full hook-up, fire pit and picnic table. Very pet friendly.

Showers were cold. Any basic communication was responded to negatively. She declared her own reality and was intolerant of dissent. Seems 2.1 stars is not low enough, her management is a race to the bottom of ratings. I could go on and on, but this should suffice to sum up the rudeness, ripoffs, and wretchedness.

Firewood was $14, make sure to bring a hatchet to cut wood to smaller pieces to start your fire. Campsites were on one side and trailers/RVs across a small dirt road. The sites are fairly close together but since there was only one other person camping we had plenty of privacy. The sites all had a stone fire pit and a picnic bench. The trails behind the campsite appear to be snowmobiling trails, they don't extend very far, would probably recommend finding other local trails to do. It's a campsite so I don't expect fancy bathrooms but the big thing (which I saw in other reviews before booking and took with a grain of salt) was that the showers were pretty dirty. The building smelled bad and there were no towels or anything to dry one's hands which is not a big deal to me, but the showers should probably get cleaned at least once a day. There were two stalls on the women's side, one had a lot of caked up grime and the other also features someone's hair and other little bits of debris. We just opted to skip showering but if you plan to, bring shower flip flops! Overall this campsite had what we needed to enjoy some time away and the owner was easy going and nice to interact with.
