We were there on an off weekend, so no planned activities. Everyone we met was very nice and no judgement. Very rare nowadays! We had our dog with us and everyone was really cool with him (Rottweiler) and he did great. (Sometimes has issues, he's a rescue and was previously abused. Our neighbors were super nice and gave us the layout of the area. If we can get the same spot as seasonal, we will jump on it! And we can let it all hang out!

Dump station on site. Also cabins for rent as well. Owner and other campers were all very nice and welcoming. Dog friendly as well. Community bon fire on weekends. This is there 2nd year in operation so they are still getting things built up and going. Close to RT 16 and I-91.

A gate code is needed to access the campground. We rented a cabin here. There are four. Two of them are 'deluxe' and have indoor cook tops. The others do not allow indoor cooking and have grills outside. The kitchen was very well kitted with everything you could need. The Deluxe cabin we rented was decorated in a cabin style with bear and moose motif items. A table for two in the kitchen, a couch for two or three and a nice rocker. A small desk is in the corner of the livingroom with a kitchen chair for seating. Hooks for coats and a place for shoes by the door. The gas fireplace is shut off in the summer because the pilot heats up the cabin. They are on from Septemer 1st. The bedroom has a queen bed, (linens and blankets provided) full dresser, bedside tables, another kitchen chair (a total of four in the cabin) and luggage rack. Two narrow closets included hangers, extra pillows and towels for the pool or hot tub. Three quarter bath was well maintained. Two bath towels and one hand towel. Hand soap on vanity. Hair dryer and extra TP under sink. Shelves for toiletries. Clothes hook on back of door. Two seats and a table are on the front porch. Our parking space was in front of the porch. A picnic table and firepit are to the right of the porch, at the end of the parking space. Our porch faced the gravel road into the campground. The campground is tiered from the road down to the river with camper spots on each tier. No spots are directly on the river. A field designated as a dog exercise area is next to the river, then a small, rocky beach to the river. The road noise is heard throughout the campground, even at the brook where the river babbles over the stones, which is very pleasant. The onsite store rents tubes for riding the river. A path to the left of the dog area ends where you can put the tube in the water, ride it to the end of the beach and repeat the process. Laundry, public bathrooms and shower bathrooms are in a newer, climate controlled building near the playground. A pass code is needed to enter. Two pools and a hot tub are near the office/store. Mini-golf is behind the store. Dump station on the way out near the dumpsters. Gravel roads are maintained. Some site have full hook-up, fire pit and picnic table. Very pet friendly.

However, I just need to warn any fellow beginners that the first "green" trail going uphill that's super windy is a doozy! I fell several times until I fell so badly I thought I'd injured my knee (pic attached). Once we decided to go up the road and take cupcake/loop trails things were much much easier (and still absolutely beautiful). All in all I recommend kingdom trails- but be careful!

Any questions there is always a friendly staff member to steer you in the right direction. Tent sites, RV sites, cabins, and even a yurt, your choice. My 2 favorite sites are 69 and 74 with 74 over looking the lake. All sites are clean. Landscape very well maintained. Pool is excellent. Laundry room, dish washing area, rec center. Mountain Lake Camping Resort is one of our favorite locations to camp in New England. Located a…read morecouple hours north of Nashua and Manchester it's the perfect place to getaway without being too far from home. Everything about this campground shows that the owners take great pride in it. They have online bookings, text communications (including reservation and quiet time reminders) and they have recently added a checkin booth so you don't have to hop out of your vehicle to go into the office to register. The views of the lake are gorgeous (especially in the Fall) and the landscaping is well maintained. There are several amenities like a pool w/ water slides, dog park, beach, fishing dock, dog swimming dock, paddle boat/kayak rentals, playground and oversized chess/checkers. You can also order homemade muffins to pick up in the morning for breakfast. Their campground store is also one of the cleanest and most well stocked ones that I've ever seen. The prices were also very reasonable (although I really wanted a hoodie as a memento and $40 was just a little more than I was comfortable spending). The biggest negative of this campground is that if you have one of the sites near the front there is quite a bit of road noise. That kills a bit of the ambiance while trying to kick back and relax but the beautiful views from the sites near the front mostly make up for the sounds of loud vehicles passing by. It's also not enough of a nuisance to rate them any lower than 5 stars. In addition to regular camping sites they also offer yurt and cabin rentals which is a nice option for people who don't own camping gear or aren't fans of traditional camping. If you're looking for a lovely place to get away Mountain Lake Camping Resort is an excellent choice!

Tons of families here when I went and I can see why. And many of the sights have incredible views of the lake and the mountains. Side A camping sites were a bit better than side B.

Smuggler's Notch State Park provides hiking, camping, nature programs, and mountain biking…read more Smuggler's Notch Park got its name because In 1807, President Thomas Jefferson passed an embargo act forbidding American trade with Great Britain and Canada. This was a severe hardship for northern Vermonters, since Montreal was closer than other markets in the US. Many local people continued illegal trade with Canada, herding cattle and carrying other goods through the Notch. Later, fugitive slaves used the Notch as an escape route to Canada. During the Prohibition years, liquor was smuggled from Canada over the improved road built in 1922. My mother and I just rode through and it was miles of the park with different areas to explore. The we're many hikers and explorers out. All I can say is the mountains are beautiful and the atmosphere is amazing. I would definitely want to come back in fall to see the trees change colors.
