My husband and I came here for half a day to explore the grounds. They have a beautiful walking trail, signs marking the locations where Dirty Dancing was filmed, and plenty of wildlife. We saw squirrels, rabbits, and deer. It was peaceful, relaxing, and such an enjoyable place to visit. If we weren't traveling in our RV, we would absolutely stay the night and experience the lodge. Thank you for allowing us to wander around and explore such a beautiful property!

Stayed for two nights for The Dirty Dancing Weekend July 24-26. Our room was $900.00 over the normal price and we were served buffet style all weekend not off the menu as the website suggested. The food was terrible almost all weekend. Breakfast was good but lunch and dinners were really bad. Service was even worse. Our package included the tips so the servers clearly didnt care. Most of them didnt even acknowledge us let alone give us refills. Saturdays lunch, we waited the entire lunch for our server to come and ask us if we needed anything after serving ourselves the food and drinks from the awful buffet. Fridays dinner, we order a cocktail and waited so long for it, we were done with dinner and waited and waited and it never came so we left. After having wanted to visit "The Kellerman's" I was very disappointed and will not be back. I did enjoy the grounds and getting to see the iconic scenes from the movie.

    Our only A/C

The single worst hotel experience in a decade. My wife was blinded by the Dirty Dancing tie in. No A/C, no tv, no elevator, parking lot is 200 yards from the hotel uphill. In addition to the long treacherous ride up and down the mountain! Come for the day and take pics at Babies cottage, and don't ever go back. Never, ever. If you like the idea of camping in the 50's, and aren't eager for modern conveniences. This is the place for you! (Note-they do have WiFi, although little to no cell coverage)

Mountain Lake Lodge is beautiful. The main lodge is gorgeous and the hiking trails are also superb. The main dining room is delicious (albeit a bit pricy). However, I would not recommend staying in the main lodge. Be warned that these rooms do not have a microwave or a mini fridge if you want to pack your own food. We found this out the hard way. Make sure you know what you're booking before doing so.

I looked into a Bed and Breakfast and found the Rockwood Manor. The price was what you would expect with no price gouging whatsoever. It turned out to be a very happy turn of events. Rockwood Manor is about a 15 minute drive from Radford university and was perfect for our needs. The Manor is on the historic register. A bit rustic on in places, it was last renovated in 2005. It is a beautiful place and our Hosts Frank and Rochelle were warm, friendly and very welcoming. We stayed in the Blakemore room. It had lots of windows which provided a nice view of the property. Our room also had a jacuzzi which we used and it was amazing after a long day on the road. The bed was a bit more firm than what we are used to at home and we recommended a mattress topper but by no means is this a negative as it is a personal preference. The linens were nice and clean and smelled fresh. We walked around the property and they looked to be all set up for wedding events. Lots of space, lots of areas for photo ops. It would be an ideal place for a wedding with room for a reception. The inside while at one point was the family home was like walking through history. We loved it. My favorite thing about the place was that I felt at home. Frank and and Rochelle are wonderful hosts. The breakfast the next morning was great with options for everyone. They also set the food up buffet style which made me feel like I was at a big family breakfast :) The only suggestion I would have is for our hosts to look into some professional rug cleaning. There were a couple of stains in the rug under the table in our room would need professional stain removal to get out. This place is one of the best B&Bs my wife and I have ever visited. We loved it!!!

The grounds and the home are wonderful. The house is full of the history of the home, American values and beautifully addressed for the Christmas season. The services, food and amenities cannot be beat in a surreal time setting in America's past. Christy was wonderful; she reached out to ensure we could gain access, answers questions and prepared our breakfast the next morning. She is the best and should be acknowledged for her spirit of excellent service. Rockwood Manor also has a Hokie room in the basement, I am sure it was in tribute to my son's graduation. Rockwood Manor is the best of the best!

So I was a little unsure whether the wine selection at Beliveau Farm Winery would be for me. But I'm happy to say that these guys are making some great wine. Yvan and Joyce, the owners, know what they are doing in terms of grapes and wine, because they have traveled and enjoyed wine from all around the world. They have a good thing going on here. When I visited, I did a wine tasting, which was paired with different flavored potato chips. So I got to taste several different wines. I'm more of a red wine gal, but one of my favorites at Beliveau is the Crazy Professor, which is a white wine blend: Vidal Blanc, Chardonel, Pinot Gris. They also have a tasty Cab Franc (one of my favorites, too), and another Crazy Professor wine, but this one is a red called The Professor's Crazy Estate Blend, which is Cab Franc, Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo. Almost all of my favorites in one bottle! So, yes, you will find some great Virginia wines here. You can enjoy a glass indoors or outdoors. I hope you sit outdoors, though, because the grounds are beautiful and expansive. This place is kid-friendly and pet-friendly, too. There's lots of open space for kids to run around, and some big rocks for them to climb on.
