Great family place, clean and safe environment. Tons of stuff for the little kids and the big ones. The staff is friendly and will help on a moments notice. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and was not at all trying to sell us. "It comes down to will you guys use it and can you afford to pay the dues." That's what Drake kept saying, there was no pressures, The place sells itself, it really does. All employees, members and guest are ran thru the Meagans Law system so no one with a offense is allowed on the premises. Super selling point for me and my wife. The last thing you want to worry about on vacation is your kids safety or the safety of your personal belongings in and around your camp. Looking forward to a lifetime of memories! My wife and I recently purchased a membership at Mountain Lakes and we absolutely love it there. The grounds are well kept and I see they are constantly working to keep it beautiful. The trees are well established offering great shade on most sites, which is a definite plus! This place is great with knowing that you have everything near you. Whether you have cabin, rv and tent. You have many amenities to your disposable. Two swimming pools, rec room, two lakes to fish (catfish n trout), trails, bingo, poker games, and canoes to rent. Cabins where comfortable n clean, rv sites where full functional, and tent sites are decent. The restroom/shower are very clean n maintain. We went on Father's Day weekend it was jam pack. Each spot had 3 to 4 cars. Limit was 2 cars. Each spot had enough room for 2 cars n sitting area n fire pit. The cabin I stayed in had one room, breakfast nook, small kitchen with dishes, bathroom, pull out sofa for two (not comfortable), bunk beds, air conditioner, and propane stove. They have beer n dinning bar, snack area, general store and bait shop. I really like it but wouldn't want to pay the amount they want for life time membership. We are members of Mountain lakes since 2007! At the front check in, the ladies are ALWAYS welcoming and Friendly. Especially Teresa!! They give you an agenda/activity sheet upon check in. My kids LOVE the Free activities in the meadow area, slip and slide, shaving cream fights, water, balloon toss something every hour. At the beach shack, painting, candy sand. You can even paddle for FREE on the pond and miniture golf. The weekends have themes on website calendar. My kids love the Carnival, BIG Magic how, Halloween trick or treating, Easter egg hunts, Funnel Cakes, Ice Cream window, family pool, movies at night outside, arcade. Also they fish in the 2 stocked ponds with my husband or just be outside like kids should be! There is propane if you run out, there is a general store is you forget something. Or to be perfectly honest, ASK YOUR NEIGHBOR! We have met so many awesome people. The ground keepers keep every trash can clean every hour on the hour. The public restrooms/showers/floors are ALWAYS clean and I have an RV but like theirs. I have stayed during the week and have seen tractors moving/cleaning; Bathrooms remodeled, Cabins with new stairs, Sites paved with new concrete to be flat, always improving**** The sales people even continue to wave and stop by your camp site to make sure everything is good well after you have been a member for years. I am Thankful for our RANGERS and Rules. NO ONE wants anyone to get hurt. Either Gold Cart rules, Helmets for kids or dogs on leashes or Due your duty and pick up their dootie! Scott is a GREAT Ranger! I appreciate the fact that EVERY member has a background check and is responsible for their guest or you LOOSE your membership. Mountain Lakes is Completely Family Orientated! AL, Teresa, Scott, Kelly, Debbie and Mike (1), Make sure every person has a GREAT-SAFE-FUN-Time! I am making memories with and for my kids. Horrible experience, customer service was not there. Basically forced me to drive 15 min. back away from the main gate and 15 min back to the gate because one of their people waived me through the check in area the first time I past. Would not get supervisor... would not make any accommodation for their "New" process. My family and I had to be inconvenienced. After all that when I finally spoke with a supervisor they realized oops... Thanks to the SS guard at the main entrance and that guy who waived me through. We were offered a Cabin to go check out the resort this week and let me tell you, My family and I had a Blast. The facility is very clean, quiet and lots of daily activities for the entire family. We decided to take our maiden voyage with our new travel trailer to Mountain Lakes Resort. We had a great time! There was so much for our kids to do...paddle boating, miniature golf, fishing, swimming. They even had a carnival during our weekend. We met Drake Fierro with membership services. We just recently returned from a 2 week stay at Mt. Lakes. They do have Wi-Fi back, but it is as bad as ever. The paper you receive when entering says you get 2 hours of Wi-Fi free in a 24 hour period for each device. Good Luck! We had 4 devices with us and none of us could get on. You can go stand by the store to get it buy of course once you walk away it's gone. There may be other locations but it is such a pain to walk around and look for a place that none of us did that. Even if you find them you have to stand there. Forget it! They also have something new. You can use a hot spot box for a $200 deposit and $10 per day that several devices can use. For our 14 day stay and deposit would be $340. Even factoring in that you will get your deposit back $140 for 2 weeks? Just ridiculous! You pay a lot for membership and maintenance fees. The store and restaurant charge so much for everything. It seems we could get Wi-Fi without having to pay a fortune. On a better note, it is nice to see they are making some improvements. read more

Went up for the weekend for the first time. Customer service could have been a lot better that's why I gave it a 4 star but besides that I really liked the cabin we stayed in. It caught me off guard to see that the kitchen was set with pots and pans for us to use. A full kitchen with utensils, cups, plates, bowels, toaster, and coffee maker. The cabin slept 6 so we brought an extra queen size air mattress to sleep all 8 of us. I would definitely recommend this camping ground to people and definitely return again. If I can give them a zero star I would. Never go to this place very disrespectful and they don't care that your spending your money on a nice getaway. And Mike that works there is very rude and doesnt have no customer service skills at all. Use to love this place but it went down hill and would never spend another penny here. Everybody is so friendly, including the workers. They really make you feel comfortable. My family has been going for three years and let me tell you, its the best thing we bought into. To shannon w. That responded to my review. Apparently you did not see I had talked to corporate and all I get is the runaround nothing is discussed or handle properly. That's why I put my review. Lots of people see Mountain Lakes as a resort. Somewhere to get some peace and enjoy them self. But still things have changed so much. Where we can't enjoy yourself anymore. And I have called corporate to reinstate my in-laws membership. Because he wasn't involved in the incident at all that's why I see Mountain Lakes is unfair. And I think we made history by having a membership for only 3 days then it was taken away from me and my husband. When we were told would be only 6 months suspension. And we were fine with that. But then they took away my in-laws membership and cancelled our membership. Without giving this a chance or investigation of anything. Mountain Lake sees only one side. That's their side and no explanations from anyone else. That's why I say it's all about the money not about them members. Still to this day have not resolved anything from corporate. The only thing I know Ashley p. Apparently doesn't work there any longer. But like they say they have body cams. Which we never got to review with corporate. So I still continue to tell anyone that would like to buy a membership buy it elsewhere. read more

Definitely would not recommend this place. for the thousands of dollars they charge you, their facility is completely run down, no cell service, wifi is bad, family area showers are always dirty, rangers are rude and disrespectful!! They talk about being strict on their rules but what it comes down to is favoritism to who they want. They have a RV abandonment rule, which they "supposedly" charge you $100 a night if you leave your RV unattended. On two separate occasions, i had stayed for a week and the last week we stayed was this past halloween weekend and through out the entire week we witnessed that first hand, people dropping their RVs off on monday and wouldn't come back for 3-4 days!! My cousin was even told to just go ahead and do that!! AND NOW for the final reason we obviously will not be back and will not recommend this place, during our last visit, on halloween weekend, we had invited our relatives who had just purchased an RV and where looking to purchase a membership. They where excited to get there and so were their kids, within 30 minutes of my cousin getting there they had started walking to go see if they can meet up with the salesman, i drove up and picked them up with our golf cart. The sales office was closed so i thought id give them a tour around the "resort" and show them the halloween decorations. Within 5 minutes, we got pulled over by a very rude park ranger who has no communication or people skills!!! Well she pulls out her citation book and continues to write us up. I did not know that my cousin was drinking a beer and having an open container there is like committing the ultimate sin!..lol....Long story short this rude ranger, Ashley P., followed us back to our site, continued to belittle us while having NO communication or social skills to at least hear us out. She just continued to embarrass and harass us. Whats even worse is they have employees there camping out, watching you because out of no where, which she must have came from across the way, a little woman walked up still buttoning up her ranger shirt, like she was some back up or something!! It was quite pathetic. Who wants to be at a place where you truly can't relax because you have employees in incognito watching your every move and they will find any little thing to get you on. Its an easy way to make their money. They take your money and find the stupidest reason to terminate your contract. Enforce ALL your rules if that's going to be the case. You clearly pick and choose your people you decide to keep around. I've spoken to a few people who have gotten pulled over for the same reason and they only received a 6 months suspension?!!....It was the worst halloween weekend! me and my friend have been going here for about 18 years or so..something has changed up there.they use to check everybody for license..haven't seen that done in awhile..theres alot of great people and familys that go there all the time.there are people who will take advantage too.this last week we went.i saw people letting their dogs swim while we were fishing.thats not cool.we saw people using 2 and 3 polls at a time.whats up with that.it takes 5 minutes to walk around the lakes to check people,they have a guy walk around the lake every morning at about 7-7.30 looking for any trash or dead fish....people at mountain lakes= fix these things,take the time or ask management to get involved.i heard one guy say i never buy a license when a bunch of us come here...WHY SHOULD I...THEY NEVER CHECK ANYMORE..so lets get involved and keep everyone happy..its a great place...thanks, Dude read more

Fun, Fun, Fun. I bought an RV and was referred to Mountain Lakes Resort. There is so much for everyone there even if you do not have an RV. You can tent camp or stay in a cabin. We had so much fun that weekend, with all the amenities for both kids, adults and pooches too. We knew we would be back, so we met with Drake Fierro who toured us and offered us a membership. Drake loves what he does and made the entire process so easy and with no pressure. The resort speaks for itself, if love the outdoors, and making memories with your family and friends, Mountain Lakes is the place for you! 5 stars and Don't forget to ask for Drake. read more

We got a free offer to camp at Mountain Lakes when we bought our camper. I should have trusted my instincts when it took me three phone calls to get through to an employee, and no one returned my message for over a week. Or maybe listened to them again when after I was finally able to get through and had already made our reservation, I got FIVE MORE PHONE CALLS from staff trying to change our reservation to the day before we wanted to arrive or offering for us to come use our free voucher ... I already had a reservation, check your calendar and no I don't want to change the dates so please stop calling and asking me to do that. But I didn't listen. When we arrived the staff was not helpful or friendly. The check in process is ridiculous. They say "ok go see if you can find a spot, it's pretty busy though". They can't tell you what spots are open and they didn't even give us a site map so we had no idea where to go. The place was completely overcrowded and the campers were packed in like sardines. It was AWFUL. We found a space in the overflow parking lot where we stopped to google other campgrounds in the area. We plugged into power because it was 97 degrees and while we were searching for a new spot to camp, we realized ants were coming into the trailer from their electrical hook ups! SO GROSS! We unplugged and left. I think I forgot to mention they require that you leave your ID at the check in booth. When we got to the check out gate they told us we'd have to find somewhere to park the trailer (there's no parking) so we could get my husbands ID back. They had Taken it over to another building. The whole experience was AWFUL. and apparently the place is like a time share... so super expensive. I wouldn't even camp for free there, and I am NOT bougie. read more

I have been a member almost 20 years, prior to when we have guests they park to any available parking. It's been awhile since we use the resort, now about guests are assure to park outside with NO PARKING ANY TIME sign. Very inconvenient, This is a deal breaker for would be members. To enjoy a retirement with small group or a birthday party or just a picnic to enjoy the place, is not a place to come anymore. I use to brag this place but with the disrespect to members ? We came to use our free weekend pass and really enjoyed our visit. Large property with two lakes and several pools, including an adult only pool. The grounds are immaculate, very spacious and located within The San Bernardino forest with incredible trees, absolutely beautiful. All the staff at this private RV Resort are so helpful and genuine. The sales presentation with Drake Fierro went very well, no pressure at all. Drake was personable and outgoing and answered all of our questions. Even though we did not purchase A membership at this time, Drake left the option open for a future membership. ~~ FORM YOUR OWN OPINION ~~ I have been to Mountain Lakes countless times in the past 3 years and have to say it is a wonderful resort. People can not judge this resort by ~adults miss behaving~ or for their right to fly their preferred team sport flag. Like in your own neighborhood in which you reside, you will come across those irresponsible drinking adults who will act out and do not follow Resort rules and regulations and can make your visit an unpleasant one. However, that responsibility and blame lies with those adults, and not the Resort itself. You should not judge this resort by another's actions if they so choose not to follow the guidelines while staying at Mountain Lakes. Every time I have gone and stayed, it has been a week or more, and it has been a wonderful experience for me and my family. Yes, we have been witness to those 2 AM yelling and screaming confrontations, but those persons have made themselves look bad, and have been escorted out of the park. Its a shame those individuals made those bad choices, because they now can not enjoy all that this Resort has to offer. This Resort has a lot of wonderful events for children and adults, and offers many activities to the whole family. Some of the great events I have attended in the Resort have been Karaoke for all ages, crafts, paddle boating, swimming, fishing, ice skating (yes, that's right! An outdoor Ice skating rink) for all ages, games, arcade room, movie nights for all ages, bingo for all ages and much more. I have 2 young children before the age of 10, and they had an absolute blast. Not to mention the wonderful great outdoors to explore and crisp, cool, clean air. Mountain Lakes Resort - Campers - Campgrounds Near Me - Lytle Creek, California

CATAGORY CAMPGROUND!!!!! Yep that hit it on the nose! They try to tell you that they are a resort, however, all they truely are is a CAMPGROUND. Unfortunatley I AM a member. A NEW MEMBER at that! Yeah they caught me in a minute of insanity obviously. Ok about this place... The TOUR...first they start by telling you that they have rv, tent and cabin camping. I love CABIN camping, then they show you this relativley nice TRAILOR, and call it a CABIN. Then they put you in a golf cart and run you thru the park, only pointing out nice things. But then again why wouldn't they that is what they are making their commission on. They tell you such and such is our busy season and there are all these activities, and oh don't forget about the Swan Paddle Boats, along with two bike boats and a actual boat paddle boat. They forgot to tell us that the Bike Paddle Boats don't work and they don't plan on getting those fixed and the Boat Paddle Boat, the one that accomadates more people, well, it is out of commission also. Back in the room comes time for the questions..... How early can we make reservations for the cabins? Answer is 60 days. True, however, they AVOID telling you that during their busy season you HAVE to call that early. This really doesn't matter since the "Cabins" are crap. They are OLD, OUT DATED, DIRTY and over all UNSANITARY. Now this is coming from my experience of staying in two of them, #95 and #183. In #95 they put us in there free of charge because of all of the other problems we had with them, and this was about two weeks ago. The walls were dirty looking, the screen door would not stay on the tract. Not to mention the whole INSIDE of the cabin smells like sewer in both cabins. This weekend we stayed in #183. We were in this one free because we got a free weekend for signing up and becoming a new member. This one was so much worse. The walls were dirty, not dirty looking, dirty. The mini blinds were full of dust, and the windowsills were mortifying. There was hair in the shower, and the rust and grime around the shower door was unacceptable. Also sitting on the toilet don't touch the wall, because of the simple fact is was dirty and if you looked down, the floor boards were covered in yuck. The futon in the front room was black fake leather and had several small holes in it. Keeping in mind this was the same in the other cabin also. The chair was overly warn and should have hit the dump about 10 years ago. There are no curtains, and the beds are covered in plastic. This is actually a good idea with the whole bed bug thing, especially since you furnish your own bedding. However, I would think that if they take the time to put the plastic on then they would use covers without holes. Not the case here. I actually reserved a cabin for Oct 12 & 13 of this year. I did this only because their Halloween festivities are supose to be to die for. Some how I have my doubts but at my husbands request, I am going. This will be a cabin/trailor that we are paying for and I under no circumstances will tolerate the lack of attention to detail in cleaning of it by the staff. Now about the "activities" here. They do have a ton of activities. If you go two times a month on a weekend or two months in a row I can promise you will see the same activities every weekend, even though they have different themed weekends. There is always Adult Bingo, Family Bingo, Texas Holdem, DJ, Kareoke, etc. And don't be surprised that if the NEW RELEASE that they are showing is the same that they showed the last time you were there. The bar/resturaunt is small and can not accomadate the demand of people for a All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner every Friday night with Kareoke to follow. Due to weather they had to move the All Mr. Mrs. Mountain Lake Pagent to the bar. It was a funny but crude contest held in a bar that was too small and overly packed. OSHA and the Fire Dept would have had baby ducks if they would have been in there that night. Not to mention that A LOT of members had their CHILDREN in the bar watching this. To each their own. Now, I could go on telling you about more bad experiences that I have had there, and I have only been a member for two full months, however, I do think it appropriate to mention the staff. About two weeks ago on a Friday night, one of the campgrounds transformers blew up. It did cause a fire on the hillside by the bar. The staff was excellent when it came to keeping the campers calm and safe. They completely had the fire out themselves before forestry could even make it there. It is sad that this place is owned free and clear by Mr. Burlingame, but he doesn't see the need to do the upgrades to actually make it a nice place that maybe could be called a Resort. read more

I went there during a Holiday and the wannabe cops are disrespectful especially Ashley P. She takes her position too serious. It's always nice to go somewhere to relax and not be harassed. The person that tried to sell me a timeshare / membership Drake was never around which I thought was odd... Maybe he was too busy ?? I found out the cost and there are much nicer places to go at the same cost with newer amenities and a relaxing environment. I wound NOT recommend this place and the one star I gave was being nice. we came in there for the sales pitch after visiting the fair.. we camp we have a moterhome and were possible interested.. but thought it was expensive for what it is and they said a lot about safety and back ground checks of the members after driving through there I'm not sure that they are following through on that... we also had a bit of a problem in the parking lot with a member and the park rangers... i would absolutely recommend that you do not get a membership here.. i wouldn't even stay there for free after this situation and taking a look around. read more

A friend of mine has a time share here, we tried to make arrangements to come in advance but we didn't get approved until the day before. We arrived on a cool, rainy, November Friday afternoon. The drive was about 30 minutes from where the 91 and 15 fwy meet, there was very light traffic. We were given cabin #182. I have never been to this place but was told it's a really great time. The cabin is really more of a run down mobile home. It didn't look as nice as what the picture on line shows. It's clear that this place has been around for quite some time. It was kind of dirty, there were small holes in the walls and the carpet was a bit damp. It was fine though, since we only paid $82 for 3days/2 nights. I just was excited to see what else the place had to offer. We brought our own food, towels, bed linens, toilet paper and throw away utensils and plates. Ofcourse we barely cooked while we were there. On our first night we stumbled across the restaurant. It was All you can eat spaghetti night, so for $6 we each got a heaping plate of spaghetti, garlic bread and salad. Not bad.... My son is only 3 but they didn't give us any issues about him eating our spaghetti (some places might have enforced that he needs to get his own plate for $4). We arrived during happy hour so for 3 spaghetti specials and 6 beers, it was about $35. During our dinner the power went out, it was no big deal. It was up again within a few minutes and they brought us candles in the meantime. I do agree that during a busy weekend this place would probably not accomodate. As I walked around the campground I was impressed with the beauty surrounding me. Everything was clean, the public bathrooms are well maintained, the man made lakes were well kept and there was a lot of nice people fishing and walking around. I checked out the family center which had a lot of arcade games and some teens watching a movie. I thought back to my childhood and thought this is the type of fun place you get to meet all kinds of other kids and can run off and be free from your parents for a bit. I bet it's awesome in the summer. The adult center was nicer, pool tables, a deck, a tv room with games and fireplace, heated pools even in the off season. I didn't get to do much since we didn't have fishing poles and our son is so young, we basically walked around and utilized the playground mostly. Alot of the scheduled bingo and family games were cancelled due to a lack of interset. I figure this has more to do with the time of year, but it's cool they plan things like this. I can't wait to go back when my son is a bit older and we can get out and be active. About the only real issue I had with this place was that we had no tv in our cabin. I think my friend said it would have been $10 more per night for one. I would have gladly paid the money. The general store, restaurant, adult center and family centers all close at 8pm (Im not sure if they are open later during the summer). I was feeling a bit Amish, thank goodness we had a portable DVD player with us. They have movies to rent in the general store. Now if you aren't a member be prepared to bring your own alcohol. They will serve you in the restaurant but if you try to purchase alcohol in the store, they will deny you. Actually, they say you have to have your member and their member card to buy alcohol, but when my friend who's 64 went and tried to buy some, they didn't give him any problems! So clearly they discriminate against younger people. Sleeping in the cabin isn't the most comfortable thing, on our second night we used the stove to heat some water. The entire place stunk in minutes like gas and the propane was exhausted by the evening. The heater was blowing cold air! Needless to say, we woke up freezing in the night and that was too much to bare, so we left by 8am. My final thoughts about this place is that it's a great idea, I love the amenities and the planned events to make families come together. During the summer they have karaokee in the bar/restaurant and live bands. The drinks are reasonably priced. There's small swan boats, there's hiking trails, there's a lot of fun to be had. I guess I just don't really understand why one would have to pay an exorbinant membership fee. Why not open this to everyone? Anyway, as long as you're prepared to basically live in a shotty makeshift cabin and just rough it, while enjoying the outdoors you won't be dissapointed. So irritated with sales today. Waited an hour and a half for the sales guy until someone else came to take us on the tour since he was busy with the client before us. We went in ready to buy since we have been coming as guests four a year and a half, we were all ghung Ho about it after we went on the tour. When we went back to the sales office our sales guy still wasn't ready. He ran out to the waiting area and pretty much just asked if we want to buy or not with paperwork ready for us to sign to decline. I said "yes we would love to but we have to see how much it is and if we can work it into our budget but we don't have anything to put down and we don't have perfect credit." He said we could get 3000 off if we went through b of a but only if we had perfect credit or they have in house financing and it doesn't matter about credit. Then asked how long until we get the deposit and my husband said a few months then said he can hold that 3000 off price 3 months. Wait what?! But we don't have perfect credit and can't leave a deposit. So he says "Oh well you said you really wanted it. I was just giving you a chance. Sign here that you decline. Thanks have a nice rest of the weekend" and took off back to his other clients. ..I don't even think he spent 5 minutes with us. I was so pissed....but I guess they just really didn't want us to join. We love it here. All the people who work here are usually so nice but I guess we will just come as guests whenever our friends come. I recommend if you are going to look into purchasing do not get the tall skinny old guy. I don't even think he gave us his name today. But the other sales people are nice and helpful. read more

Been going to mountain lakes for many years. My biggest complaint is ranger station not being honest about fishing. Every single time I have called to ask "how's the fishing been", they give the same answer "been great" only to drive up and find out it has been terrible all week.
