Very, very frustrated with this company right now. We have NEVER had a problem in the 3 years we have been members, but recently we called them to make a payment to find out they have sent us to collections. I called the collections company to make the payment and Josh the gentleman there said that we'd have to pay the contract in full to still want to keep our membership by the end of this month. I was paying a huge chunk! So I called ML corporate and another woman there gave me what I owed and I told her I would discuss it with my husband. I called back the next to get told that I needed to speak with collections and they wouldn't even take the payment! So he had his "boss" call corporate and Josh said that corporate was the only people that had a say so in receiving monies. He came back on the line to tell me I could make the payment and them finish the contract payment by the end of the month! I called corporate again and spoke with someone and she said it's all up to collections on what they will accept. So instead of taking the large payment, they are lying puting the blame on each other and I can't hmget a straight story! Now he is calling saying that ML will be suing us if we can't get anything resolved, yet they won't work with us! This is a shame. I have always talked highly of this place, recommended it to friends and family and NEVER had a problem there. I stop getting calls back in November from them and I call on my own to make a $1,200 payment and they push us away. I guess my family and I will have to find another place to camp. read more

I have been a member here for just a few years now and I absolutely love this place. It's our quick get away from the hustle and bustle. Right away as a member I seen our money going to work. The lights been repaired lakes flushed and cleaned of brush, clear pathways. All the campers are very friendly and the Rangers are very helpful and kind. Ranger Kelly and Victor are awesome dudes always quick to assist and answer any questions. I love this place and it just gets better and better every time we stay. read more

I had a fully paid membership in the early 1990's. I paid with it with credit cards and school loans. My son died in 1994 and I fell off the planet for a couple of years and left my ex in the meantime. He was the one receiving any or all correspondence. I came across pictures today of my son and daughter with friends climbing thru the creek. I wondered if I could use my membership out here now that I have grandchildren. They could not find my name, they could not find my ex's name, nothing. I paid over 6,000.00 for nothing?? Who can afford that? Don't get burned! read more

I've Ben a member her for more then 20 years so meany things they have changed and not for the better I just went down to the hot tub and it's not on they turn it off in the winter at one time it was open 24 hrs now it's only open till 10:30 I can't even drop my trailer for a week and run home for a night the dumb ass security said if u leave for 24 hrs u get in trouble they want to changed u 100.00 every 24 hrs that ur not thare the park is empty it's January no one is here some people do do it but that when the favoritism come in the regulars get a way with what ever they want the even have some employees that camp in the park (live) in the park it just depends on who u are or who u know new members BEWARE of this u need to be one of the chosen or they have a lot of ways to fuck u for me I think it mite B time to find a new place to camp read more

When we first started coming here it was a great fast fun get away for the weekend. But now its just over sold. To many people. And the bad thing about it some of the best RV spots have been converted into cabin sites. We bought into this resort for the RV spots which are turning into cabin sites. Not a Happy Camper. So glad we have other great options for camping in Southern California! read more

I have stayed here various times with my family and we have a membership. First time coming out to enjoy a weekend getaway with my family after the COVID outbreak. Everything has been pleasant and clean. Super disappointed the lack of respect of the women that work in the water park area. The women screamed at me for attempting to move a chair to sit with my family. (Unaware that there were markers)I don't find it professional nor friendly to talk to guests in a rude demeanor. It is degrading and it is embarrassing when there are other ways to address the social distancing issue. They sat down on the bench and screamed at various families instead of getting up and politely addressing their concerns in a different manner. Another Woman in the general store working behind the counter was also rude to guests and unfriendly. Does not encourage me to come here again when staff treat guests this way. read more

I have great memories of going up to Mountain Lakes every summer of my childhood. I met some of my oldest friends here, had my first dance with a pretty girl and later my first kiss inside the girl's bathroom. I learned how to fish, drank my first beer, and had a blast hanging out with my parents. I haven't been here in a long time, but I remember loving every moment of the place. Went up for a weekend of tent camping and their sales pitch. Place was pretty nice, i don't know if i'd call it 5 star but for a campground it was really nice. I read stories about bad rangers, loud campers but experienced nothing of that. We didn't go for the sales pitch but it was very tempting. It was April, so it was a bit chilly, the pool didn't seem heated as advertised. The family center needs alot more, maybe in the summer season they have more. but we did talk to a couple of teenagers and they really raved about the place and how much they liked coming there. read more

I camped her in 98 or 99. The people weren't ghetto but the entire place was! Tent camped in the south end. Be careful of the skunks on your way to the restrooms in the middle of the night. Very boring place with run down amenities back then. We had more fun across the street in the Shade playing in the real creek! read more

Mountain Lakes Resort - Campgrounds Near Me - Lytle Creek, California

This place is simply amazing! I've been going nearly every summer for 20 years. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Included in your membership, you have paddle boats, mini golf course, f family arcade room, adult clubhouse with a full kitchen you can use, a t.v. Room, pool and darts. They have bingo and poker tournaments almost every week. 1 kids pool, 1 family pool and 1 adult pool with 2 spas. A restaurant, ice cream shop, laundry room, horse show pit, park, two lakes to fish from (cat fish and trout), you do need a permit under California law. Basketball courts, and even a general store. You can camp in a rv, tents or rent one of their cabins! They have 3 level of cabins, check with the member services on prices and regulations. They have tons of activities, such as craft fares, movie night, and dances. I've never had a bad experience here, the people who stay here are always nice as well. Some of the camp grout spots are pull throughs, some are more of a parking lot feel, some feel more like the wilderness. You can even walk across the street to wander around the creek. Mountain lakes have a fenced in private part of the creek, we have picnicked there quite a few times. They have a two dog kennel which you use at your own discretion, a fish cleaning station, pay phones, (I know what are those lol) there is just so much to do yet so relaxing! Great for even just going or the day. And great or single camping along with group camping. They have restrooms and comfort stations thought out the park. The comfort stations have showers. Just a lovely place and so close to home yet you feel far away! Worth every penny! read more

The price on this resort are to expensive even if your a member. it's 100.00 a night for a cabin higher than staying in a Best Western!!!!

This place is horrible! They kicked my family out today. We were supposed to stay for two weeks but had to leave after three days. We have had this membership for almost twenty years. The rules are ridiculous! I live twenty miles away from this resort, so it's easy to drop off my family and wife and keep going to work. Well my family was told to leave because apparently if I decided to go to work, the store, church, etc. You get the picture my guest have to leave also. You in their right mind came up with this idiot rule? My entire family has to be attached to the hip and God forgive my son wants to stay and study. He can't because I'm the member and he needs to leave when I leave. Don't waste your money on this place! This place is horrible. But the worst was when my Autistic son was harassed for loosing his bracelet. The ranger was informed of my sons condition but he had no heart. My son was ticketed with $100 fine for refusing to wear a bracelet. This place is not friendly to families, and does not respect, and have compassion for children with disabilities. read more

So far we love this place. Have stayed 3 times now since we got our membership last October. I read all these reviews and wow seems like people have lots of issues. I have never had any issues with staff or rangers. all have always been really nice. not sure what people are doing to piss off the rangers. If you have a dog the park across the street entrance is awesome. so big with lush green grass and room for your pup to run. yes some spots are tight so don't park a big rig there. People have always been nice. Store has closed early a few times on me but i didn't freak out over it. actually the only complaint i have is about fellow campers that walk right through your campsite. one of these days my dog will remind them why not to. it is rude but i still don't let it ruin my weekend. Love to be able to fish just need to learn how to fish the trout in this lake. We no longer have little kids but if you do this place is even better for you. I see they are upgrading some of the sites and hope they continue to do it through the park. read more

I have been a member of Mountain Lakes resort in Lytle Creek for 30 plus years and I have allows followed there rules and have been treated respectfully, but not this weekend. The ladies at the front desk are rude and disrespectful. They treated my friends and I like we were criminals. They told me different policies every time I talked to them. Nobody knew what they were doing. They talked to me like I was a child and I was very disappointed the way they treated me. They need to work on customer service. read more

We just returned from a camping weekend at Mountain Lakes. We had just purchased a new Motorhome and were given a free weekend if we did the timeshare presentation. I was not looking forward to that, however "Big Al" was very friendly and was not pushy at all... very different from every other presentation we have attended. The campground was nice and the shade trees gave welcome relief to the 100 degree temps at home. Everyone we met were very nice and we even met some of our neighbors from the town in which we live. We had the 3 day tour this past weekend and we absolutely love it. Melody helped set up our tour for the day and Drake was our guide. He drove us around the resort in a golf cart. Thankful because the resort is huge. He showed us all around, the general store, restaurant, pool area, so much more. There are 2 lakes and a pond and paddle boats members can use free of charge. It is a private resort for members only. They offer the tour so you can see for yourself how nice it is. Hubby went fishing with our 10 year old and the resort was very clean. Bathrooms, I have no complaints. We're clean and smelled very nice. They had the car show and gift bonanza going on and we had a lot of fun enjoying the activities. We loved that the kids can walk in a group together to do things at the resort. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Everyone we encountered were so upbeat and cheery. Other members were also nice and helpful since it was our first time at Mountain Lakes. Well we are now members and have our next vacation booked to come back. And in regards to any negative reviews I suggest you see for yourselves. I'm sure glad we did. read more

My grandparents, parents, myself and my son have all been members my entire life. some of my very first memories take place here. I learned to ride my bike here, catch my first fish, pitch my first tent and actually got my first kiss here after one of the teen dances up at the basketball courts lol. I loved it as a child, a teen and now and adult and mother. I love seeing my son enjoy it just as much. This is a place where u can build lifelong memories. Big Al is the best rep this park has, if it werent for him it wouldve been shut down a long time ago! We stayed one weekend and bought our membership. Loved going and went for the Halloween festivities our first year. I was shocked to learn that they OPEN tHe GATES and let outside people in! There were so many children and not stopping by once or twice, but multiple times for candy. So we solved that problem and don't go during October. The following summer we were there and encountered a family who was laughing, stumbling and falling, obviously drunk, until 4:00 AM. They were allowed to stay and had to leave in the morning. In our RULES AND REGULATIONS it clear states if you don't follow the rules you will be as risk for your membership to be cancelled. The family pool is NEVER heated unless I say something, then I'm argued with, until I place my thermometer in the water and it reads 65 degrees. But the thing that bothered me most is the fact that they let non-members in. It then becomes a non-member park. This includes the pools. Outsiders are aloud in, for a price I'm sure, which really irritates me. Mountain Lakes is a nice place, kept up, bathrooms are clean, for the most part, and most of the staff are very nice. When it becomes crowded the nice time turns into a party, but going in the winter and Spring is best. On one occasion we were there and they overbooked. People were staying on the basket ball courts. We paid cash for our membership 3 or 4 years ago, and I asked that exact question, and were told we would never be turned away, but we ay not have a 'site' and may have to dry camp. We would like to sell. We will let it go for what we paid. All taxes and fees are paid in full and up to date. I hear they are going for upwards of $6000.00 now. We will sell for $4300.00. My family enjoyed our stay at this campground. This is a well structured facility with great amenities and friendly staff. The trees provide lots of shade and the pools, especially the adult pool (nice to get away from the kids!), which were needed in the summer heat. I read many reviews about the trash. If you are going to complain about floating trash etc. then I would say clean it up! Yes, I am getting old but in my day we were taught to clean up our site and ANY garbage we saw. Share the work and we will all reap the rewards. FYI this campground is a short trip once you exit the freeway but you feel like you are miles away. Rachel Castro Lost my ten thousand dollar life time legacy membership at Mountain Lakes. A high Price to pay! a Big mistake Grandson droping me an my husband off at senior center. My husband in backseat of gulf cart opened a beer and was cited. Mike the Ranger thanked us for being polite. No one was driving under the influnce. I pleated with Allen asking for a suspension, a high fine. In ten years the rules had never been enforced.I asked if I could get any of my ten thousand dollars back he Sid NO! I can never go to any campsite afiliated with MLakes. I believe the punishment dose not fit the crime. I asked Allen when did they change the rules? He said six months ago I told him the last time we visited was back in August. Bottom line there over selling the place.. Been coming here since I was about 10 and I'm 27 now. Wonderful place to spend time with friends and family. Not exactly traditional camping since there are cabins and swimming pools but you can get the most out of it if you stay in a tent. Their lakes are always stocked with fresh trout & catfish. My son is 2 1/2 and he loves the paddle boats and kids pool. Love this place!!! read more

We were there two weeks ago and had a great time. I tried catfish fishing for the first time. I fished for two and didn't even get a nibble. While there, I met anew friend "Bill" who took the time to give me some great pointers on fishing. Bill, being an experienced fisherman, was catching left and right! I couldn't understand it, he could do no wrong. Nearly every time he cast his line, he would reel in and the catfish would bit and jump in his net! My point is that Mountain lake is a great place to go for fun, meeting nice people and making great friends. I will back very soon! read more
