We worked with Poss Realty for the first time two months ago. We found a small vacation cabin we…read moreloved and called the name and number of the realtor on the sign. We accept the fact that having the realtor work as a dual agent can be iffy at best, so this part was our mistake to own. Sadly, we had a wretched experience with Poss Realty. Just getting someone to contact us to show us the house and any others to compare, proved almost futile. Getting the realtor to answer the most basic questions in a timely manner became so frustrating we almost gave up several times. The realtor was very pleasant and kind, and that is mainly why we stuck it out; this and the fact that we loved the house. Trying to get through our due diligence period to the closing date was nothing short of a hair pulling experience. The love of this cabin kept us hanging on. Funny enough, buying property is actually what we do for a living but in another state, so closings, and banks and inspections are something we do quite regularly. Had we not had this experience, we may not have known the extreme difference between the real estate companies we have used before and Poss Realty. Right before closing, we only had several days left to get the most basic questions answered and still no response from the realtor. My elderly mother became so frustrated and concerned she called the broker and actual owner of the company. She is this tiny little woman, a widow with three cats if this gives you any idea, and she merely stated to him these questions needed to be answered and we were worried that maybe our realtor was sick or something, etc. And he was shockingly rude. She was in tears afterwards when she called me. His condescending comments and general disdain for her questions was unprofessional and uncalled for. Her questions were ones that any potential buyer would have. For example, the realtor had forgotten to get both names on the contract signed, and she was not returning calls and this was going to move the closing out. Simple concerns such as this were met with sarcasm. I was furious at how anyone could be this rude. Maybe he was having a bad day, but this does not excuse rudeness. I looked him up and it was the usual....great family man, pillar of the community, and all the religious themes that go along with the bios. It is funny how in my experience, those that profess to such a supposedly loving and gentle faith have usually been the ones to be the rudest and most curt to others. Another failed attempt by the devout at "spreading that love by example"or "winning another soul to their God." I roll my eyes once again. We got the house, our little cabin, but it was the absolute worst real estate experience any of us have ever gone through. And I am still waiting on the promised set of keys and the promised paperwork. Still no keys. Still no paperwork. One would think paperwork on the house just bought is slightly important. I will shout from the rooftops to anyone that wants to hear the details of our experience with Poss Realty. Do not use them. Use anyone else but them.

He wanted to charge us $250 to cancel. Never heard of that, so I said, "Let the listing run." I have heard not a word from this "agent" in 5.5 months. No updates. no marketing thoughts--nothing, nada, zip. We discovered an electrical problem. I emailed and texted him. We are 600 miles away. He has my hidden key in a lock box, so I can't get the electrician in. I told this "agent". He completely ignored me. Meanwhile, the house could burn down, and he obviously couldn't care less. Nobody should list with such a shoddy outfit. I learned my lesson.

Very little marketing effort was made--only photos and MLS listing. No open house was ever discussed or held. No effort was put toward any marketing tactics such as using "offers due by date" or "offers will be reviewed on date" to drive up the number of bids. Little personal touch and connection--agent never took initiative to meet me face-to-face. Agent seemed to be only interested in rushing to close the deal regardless of impact on seller. Agent was available via phone during closing but that's it--I had to chase closing documents from closing attorney before and after closing. Value of agent's effort much less than commission paid. I recommend using Redfin instead. Same service at half the price.
