The only arena is synthetic and not maintained properly because of ignorance therefore causing injuries to horses if you do more than a easy jog. They spray weed poison while it is close to a horse. LEAKING SEPTIC tank under the arena causes stinky bacteria ridden water to sit atop the arena surface. Very hazardous to your horse.... Owner keeps driving over it with a huge tractor. Look elsewhere, your horse will not be safe here.

There is true pride of ownership and caring here... Tom tries to accomodate everyone needs, whether or not he thinks it's a little crazy, and my horse loves his stall and his stable mates. The training with Erica has really opened up a world that I wasn't sure was there with Logan...he is thriving in her care...low key, but serious show barn...Erica has all the "tools" in her chest for success, and the experience to bring your horse along the "slow way" which is the "fast way"....can't say enough about this barn...truly perfect...

Hands down the very BEST equestrian training stable whether you're a beginner or more an advanced…read morerider, western or English. If you want to learn to ride, improve your riding or need help training your horses properly, & your nervous as a new rider, the lesson horses there are safe & amazing, & Robert Nava is the guy!! Robert is an excellent horseman but is patient & kind with the lesson goers always pointing out the positive with "great job," or "looks great"! Always Important for confidence building! You learn more there than just riding, grooming, etc. You learn horsemanship! The stable is located on Stokes Canyon in beautiful Malibu!! It's so incredible there, with trails, right out the gate or just taking lessons in the large arena with Robert ~ I love that there is round pen too if needed. Everything you need is there depending on your goals. Western or English & or brand new to horses! Again, Robert is so the patient, so great with kids too! He teaches, safety, patience & confidence!! (I know I say that a lot, but important) ~ Located adjacent to Malibu Creek state park with miles of trails streams & sheer beauty around you! *Robert Nava is the resident horse trainer for Western or English, riders! My daughter started out at another local barn that has a…read moregreat reputation but the ponies were dirty and unkempt and the teachers proved to be flaky with the schedule. Contrast that with Elvenstar where the ponies are always clean and ready to go and the instructors very rarely miss a lesson. Also, in contrast to our first barn, there are a ton of young girls at Elvenstar for my daughter to make friends with and to ride with. She's made a couple great friends there. I'm glad we found Elvenstar. We're on our third leased pony in ~3 years because KK's skills are improving quickly and she's growing! The skill increase is a direct result of time in the saddle and KK's willingness to listen to and learn from Elvenstar's professional team. Barns, like horses, have personalities so Elvenstar may not be right for everyone. But it's been right for us for about three years and I can absolutely see it being our barn for many years to come.

I love La Tuna Stables. Its an old barn with lots of history and character…read more I suffered a terrible injury and couldn't take care of my horse last May 2022. I was in the hospital for five days, and had to find a safe haven for him in a hurry. I found La Tuna Stables and it's been so wonderful that I'm staying. It's so much more serene here. A wonderful retreat for horses and humans. There is a riding ring and lots of trails nearby to be enjoyed. The owner Sheila is very caring and completely took over care of my horse while I was recuperating, and still helps me a lot for a fee. My horse is very happy in his huge stall and another bonus is that we have a beautiful sunset every night! The way the property is located, lends it self to beautiful sunsets. I work full-time so it's nice to know that he is well taken care of and when I visit him, he seems content. I would highly recommend La Tuna stables for drama free people who want the best for their horse!!
