We threw an 8 year old's birthday party here with 15 of her closest friends. All the kids had a blast. They got to ride horses, brush and paint the horses with glitter, feed them, visit with the ponies and the goats and enjoy the outdoors of the ranch. It was a great place to have a birthday party and the staff was super friendly and more than accomodating. We would definitely recommend this place for parties and for riding lessons. Many parents were interested in bringing their children back for additional lessons later on. read more

I have been riding here for almost 2 years with Falon. I ride western and I absolutely love it. She pushes me to do better each time. She has the patience of Job some days. I love the horses and all the people. I I have had the opportunity to take a couple of Trail classes with Carrie and she is so encouraging. She reinforced the many lessons that I have had with side passing, pivoting and backing through an obstacle. It has been great having a second eye guiding me. I also like to come up and watch lessons given by Courtney. Her riders are all different levels. I have watched many of her students go from being beginners to jumping over poles. I have watched the young ladies that were scared to even get on a horse now trot and canter without a second thought. I highly recommend coming to Oaks Canyon equestrian. read more

After 5 years at SCV equestrian center, where the trainers simply did not care whether or not I improved this was a breath of fresh air. Courtney is an absolutely amazing trainer for a beginner or intermediate(me) rider. She had us galloping and going over jumps like a pro in no time, where SCVEC kept procrastinating. The horses are also very nicely cared for and almost everyone who I've talked is quite nice(with a few oddballs). I see the farriers taking care of lesson horses quite often and the farriers are also quite nice people, though the smell of hoof grinding is gross. The barn is always clean and free of smell. On a more negative note (all of these are completing out of the barns control, just some experiences and explanation as to why part of the barn is broken). The barn has gone through a recent barn fire do to wiring of which killed two horses, again out of their control. As well as right now their well is not giving them as much water as it should and therefore to insure the horses still have water to drink they can't rinse them. read more

This is a great place to learn to ride and to enjoy being around horses. Over the past 8 years I've watched my daughter grow from a little girl who loved horses to a young woman who has learned hard work, perseverance and dedication to both her sport and her horse. The trainers, Carrie and Courtney are super knowledgeable and Carrie does everything she can to make a brutally expensive sport more affordable. There is are real family atmosphere with kids and adults alike supporting each other and encouraging each other along the way. I'm so grateful we found this barn!!! read more

So this place needs a-20! I swear yelp needs to add a negative category! This place is absolutely horrid! So I bought two lessons on Groupon for my daughters birthday. We were surprising her cause she loves horses. I bought the tickets Wednesday. I call and call and call then called again. Left messages. No answer or call back. Her birthday comes and I just decide to go down there. The website doesn't list hrs of operation who to contact or nothing. Just the number and it says "call, or better yet, come see us". So, that's what I did. GPS brings you to this street that leads to a big ass gate. ( confusing as fuck) I thought I was lost. So at any rate someone was coming out the gate so I drove in. Pulled all the way up to the grounds, lots of cars, ABSOLUTELY NO PEOPLE!!! I keep calling the number, guess what, no damn answer. So I try to find an office, no office. Just a residence. So, naturally I went and knocked on the door to the house. NO ANSWER! But you can clearly hear people talking and see them. So I take my daughter and get back in the car and drive around to see if we see anyone, finally I saw a person! Who did not speak English! I spoke a little Spanish, enough to at least get a number on someone. I called the number, which was completely different from the website I may add, her name was Carrey, i explain the situation and she tells me I have to call the office ( Bitch what damn office!!) and the bitch hung up on me! #really! I couldn't believe it! I wasn't rude, I was a mother trying to make her daughter happy on her birthday! I wasn't sure what to do and this chic wasn't helpful! And refused to pick up the phone when I called back. At this point, I want my money back and Im out! Did I mention it was my daughters birthday!!!! Birthday ruined!!!! Thanks a lot! She was so heart broken! Do NOT waste your time or money on these people! Save yourself from pistivity and aggravation! Go elsewhere! I'm reporting them for fraud! Beautiful property and horses are well taken care of. Prices reasonable. Observed a lesson before beginning classes. Was very distressed by the way one of the teachers spoke to a student. She was very negative and made the poor girl cry. I should've known right then that this was not the place for us. Thinking maybe it was just the instructor having a bad day, We signed our child up only to have the same experience. have you ever heard the expression, "if you break a butterfly's wings, it will never fly? Hopefully this will help you understand just how this teacher is with students. After several lessons we realized that this was not a good match for our family. We just don't speak to people that way in our family. What teachers do not understand, is that the way you treat your students can either make or break them. If you want your students to do well in your subject matter you need to encourage them and build them up and make them feel like they're doing something right. Show them that you believe in them. This does not mean that you do not correct wrong behavior, or incorrect riding, but what it does mean is you don't say things to them like "do not count your posting counts out loud. Keep it to yourself- the horse doesn't want to listen to you talking" -- and you don't take everything they say and turn it into something negative. You don't degrade and belittle them and you are not rude and cruel. I know it's not just my child it was something that I witnessed with another student. After walking on eggshells for way too many weeks, We are leaving this place to find somewhere else. There's just no reason for my child to be tortured every week by this woman. And frankly, it was a torture experience for me too. I could hardly stand to listen to her open her mouth. It was poison. read more

My son took a lesson here and I thought everything was fine, he had a good time and was excited about lessons. Katie just won't answer my text messages so I asked her if there was some kind of a problem with getting more lessons for my son? Katie said no problem..So then we decided to start lessons on Mondays and she just won't get back to me. I don't understand what the big deal is sending a text back? The worst experience ever. Purchased (3) Groupons , left numerous messages, called multiple times to make reservation with no response. The one time i did speak to someone, she transferred me to someone else who never returned my calls. Kept trying and nothing! They need to seriously work on their customer service. This is a lovely ranch, beautiful facilities and nearby trails. Everyone here truly cares about horses and their care. The owners of this ranch are the kind of people who keep their horses for an entire lifetime, they are NOT the kind of owners who send horses to slaughter when their performance careers are over. They love their animals. The trainers themselves take classes from famous knowledgeable professionals (trainers, veterinarians etc.), always striving to improve their own skills, so they can impart more knowledge to the kids who take classes here. read more

First let me say this review is not about the equestrian center itself but more to the co-owner/ head trainer working there. I am a resident on the private and narrow street you drive on to get to the equestrian center. While on a walk with my kids(1 and 2 years old) my husband hand signals Carrie, the head trainer, to slow down since she was clearly speeding towards us towing a horse trailer in her large white truck. Instead of just slowing down she STOPS and begins to argue and attempt to justify her speeding. Seconds later... she gases off yelling" f**k off" to us. I'm sorry but WHY would you give this lady your business. She is a rude and inconsiderate person and obviously not good around kids since she thought it was ok to use that language around them. In all, we were just a husband and wife looking out for our children's safely. Please drive slowly down our street. Thank you. read more

We live in a Very Rural Area in a Canyon, there are only 6 homes . My house is a log cabin home . My property has every kind of wildness animals snakes and insects. We have migrating termites that viral into the ground in there hibernating part of there lives . In spring when they come out of hibernation the come out of the ground in the hundreds or thousands all at one time . My hose had Rats mice and several types of termites. Nick Junior came out to do our estimate, he explained what they would do , how they would do it, and made himself Totally available for any questions. After meeting with him seeing how personable he was and how knowledgeable he was about what they do we hired them . I meet Nick Senior a couple nights before they tented our house , he brought us Special bags to bag our liquids and soaps and creams in so we could bag our food , pantry and personal hygiene products . Senior and Junior both were amazingly Good people Super Informed about what they do but were Great People to talk to. The work there people did was amazing and professional . I had a 35 year old tile roof which is ancient, they covered my roof with very minimal damage which for the age of my roof was truly a miracle, no joke . The cleaned my attic to being spot less clean all fesses and critters out of the attic , then they drilled around the entire yard and pressure poisoned the ground for the boring termites. It was a big job and they were incredible professionally and personable . I have a ranch and they now maintain the pest control on my entire Ranch . They are a 5 Diamond company in my eyes .
