I can't recommend this dentist enough. My husband was seeing a dentist at a different practice, had a dental emergency, and could not get in touch with the original dentist. Mountain Ridge (Adam, the fantastic receptionist,!) was extremely efficient at getting my husband in with the dentist and within 15 minutes he diagnosed and solved the problem for my husband. My wonderful dentist in Longmont retired. It took me 8 months to find a dentist that takes Cigna/Medicare. Mountain Ridge is Amazing. Very friendly front desk workers tried to fit me in as soon as possible. Clean place. Soft music that is pleasant to listen to. Really kind hygienist. I went through 2 years of daily chemo (4 pills 4x/day) which made Everything hurts from digestive system to teeth. Previously, I never had painful teeth. Hygienist cleaned my teeth (I always went every 6 months until the snafu with trying to find Cigna dentist for 8 months then 2 months before I could get in to this place) so it was a long process. He was efficient, professional and caring. The dentist looked at my xrays & my teeth, truly kind & friendly (thank goodness no cavities) He advised me about bite guard (I've bitten through 5 different guards, a shock to all the dentists who made them for me). The front desk person printed out an estimate for a new guard. New toothbrush, lip balm etc an extra bonus. Really really happy with this place!! read more

Would you stay with a practice/dentist if s/he was disrespectful and condescending? I was a patient at Mountain Ridge for more than 2 years. For background, I'm also a business owner of more than 25 years, with more than 3 decades in management/management consulting and customer service. I'm chatty with anyone who'll chat back from the time I go to an appointment until I leave. I regularly complemented the overall office, the decor, asked about people's kids, chit-chat, etc. Due to autoimmune disease, I spent more than $7,000 in the time I was a patient at this practice, and was treated with utter disrespect. Episode 1 (I should've gotten up and left and never returned, but excused it) - I asked if they had any specials on the cosmetic products they advertise. Snarky deadpan response from owner/dentist was if my previous provider had offered specials, he'd "invite me to go back to that practice". Episode 2- I was asked (by front desk) at two different appointment check-ins whether I wanted to use the "card ending in nnnn" for today's visit. It was my Health Savings Account ("HSA") card, which has a small fixed amount on it and can only be used for HSA-qualified expenses. I had previously asked them on THREE different occasions to please NOT store that card on file. So the second check-in, when they repeated the question , I asked that they make 100% sure we get that permanently off my account. Front desk clerk "A" was extremely rude to me about that, glaring and snapping at me before it was over to the point that I thought she must be going through some type of personal crisis. There was also never any apology for them storing the card against my wishes, much less for the snap. I gave them far more grace than they deserved. Now for the "kicker" episode (less than a month later) that caused me to fire the practice and write this review: Episode 3- December 2024- I went in for a follow-up after a recent procedure. The owner/dentist recommended I come back in January after he received training/certification on a particular procedure (hard pass). Next, he proceeded to say he had one more thing to talk about. He said it had come to his attention that I had been "rude to some staff and this will not be tolerated". I (nearly in tears at this point because I was shocked at his tone and accusation) then asked what exactly he was talking about (what/when/where/with whom). He REFUSED to tell me anything other than his original, very vague accusation, which he then repeated again. Even worse, this "admonishment" was carried out within earshot of multiple other clients and staff. Any chance for a resolution was dead after this level of blatant disrespect by the owner. I wasn't allowed to know who had accused me or any details, much less to be allowed to defend myself. I've never encountered this type of unprofessionalism at any other business.. most don't find it wise to treat valuable clients as lesser-than. READ the other negative reviews across different sites- they are there because others have had bad experiences too. To the practice- Not every client will be your cup of tea, but the smart business owner will educate his staff on how to deal in a professional manner with all types of people. Oh, and save your canned/scripted responses to my review. We are DONE. read more

You lost 2 patient's business! You told us you accepted our dental insurance, but we got a bill for your services, and Delta Dental confirmed that you didn't renew the 2024 contract! Shame on your office staff! Delta Dental got us straightened out and found us a new dentist. Shameful that you're deceiving longtime patients, in spite of the very good care in the past! read more

I have been twice now to this office and the customer service and staff are out of this world! The office is beautiful and the equipment is top notch. I have seen Dr. Ryan and Dr. DePorter they are both fantastic. I really appreciated how they listened to my concerns and explained everything so throughly. Worst experience ever at a dentist! If you have anxiety over going to a dentist and/or have borderline high blood pressure DO NOT GO HERE! Went twice. First time they took my blood pressure (what dentist takes your blood pressure??) and it was high. They went on to do my exam and take x-rays but refused to clean my teeth until my blood pressure came down. Had to reschedule for two weeks later. Came back in and blood pressure is still high so they refused to clean my teeth again! What they don't seem to understand is if you have anxiety about going to the dentist your blood pressure is always going to be high! My blood pressure has always been borderline high and in the 30+ years I've been going to get my teeth cleaned I have NEVER had a practice REFUSE to clean my teeth because of it! Your practice of checking my blood pressure added to my anxiety about getting my teeth cleaned and caused my pressure to be high. read more

I just got a certified letter from this place because yesterday I missed an appointment due to a urgent family matter. Not sure where all the good reviews come from. This place is a joke. I never missed an appointment before and confirmed it when I called this week to pay my bill. My last visit it took the hygienist 4 shots to get me numb and when that did not work she finally got the doctor who is competent in giving shots. Good luck! Let me start off by saying I have been in the dental field for 24 years. I had a chipped front tooth which cosmetically was devastating. I called and had an appointment the following morning. They were compassionate and understanding of not only my cosmetic concerns but the long term health of my tooth. What an outstanding practice Mountain Ridge has opened in Berthoud! Of all dentistry offices I've been to, I have never had such thorough care as that here. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. Kelly has a calm, supportive presence that would ease the most nervous patient. She explains how to maintain good oral health clearly, in a way that is easy to follow. Dr. DePorter is hands-down the best dentist I have ever seen. You can tell his work is one of passion and care for his patients! He spends quality time with each person and ensures they have a full understanding of their health and how to take the best care of their oral health. Be very careful with the billing from this company. When I originally asked them if they accepted my insurance, they said they absolutely did. So I had dental work done there. What they didn't tell me is they didn't accept the rates from my insurance company. The insurance company paid their contracted rates and Mountain Ridge Dentistry consequently billed me for the difference. They asked if they could bill my credit card for the office visit, which I agreed to. Then they used my credit card to pay the difference between what the insurance paid and what they billed. This amount was probably 20 to 25% higher than what I would have expected. They said I agreed to pay any open balances with the credit card they have on file when I signed the new patient form. I am not disputing that. They definitely are nice people and perform very soothing work. They were very conscientious of my pain levels. I really like the care, but their billing is very concerning. Consequently I will not go back there. read more

I have taken both of my children to this office and everyone there was so friendly and patient with us. The dental assistant took time to explain each tool to both of my boys (2 and 3) and then make sure she answered any questions that they had. My 3 year old had to return for a quick filling which they took care of in less than 15 minutes, all while checking multiple times to make sure he was good to continue. Front office has been very kind when I call more than once to verify appointment times or forgot my wallet in the car. I would definitely recommend this office to others. read more
