The Pesca Pizza is one of the best pizzas I've had in quite a while. As soon as I saw peaches on it, I immediately knew I needed to try it and it exceeded my high expectations. Great vibes! Came in to redeem a beer our BIL left us on the wall (you can buy a buddy beer and they leave the name up for 6months to redeem). Came straight from tubing the Yampa River. It was a cool hang out with both inside and patio seating. I had the Passionfruit Cider and it was refreshing. My husband tried a flight (6beers) and thought they were good. We tried the popcorn, to be honest, I wouldn't order again. It was kinda burnt flavor and i didn't prefer the powdery cheese topping, but thats just me. The garlic bread smelt amazing, tho we didn't try it. Benjamin, behind the bar is a delight!! he never stopped smiling. We chatted a few times between customers and seems like he really loves his job and was knowledgeable. Only staff complaint, was one other staff member that kept coming up and interrupting us to get tasters for some tables. As a bar tender your job is to engage with customers as long as it doesn't interfere with efficiency... I felt like this other guy was just being rude. He could have stood there and been like "hey benjamin can i get a ___?" But he would just pop in next to me and talk over us demanding a sample. We were in Steamboat for a few days and came to Mountain Tap Brewery twice during our stay. We stumbled upon it the first time while exploring the area and grabbed a few beers. We noticed their pizza oven and decided to return another day for dinner. Our second visit ended up being a Friday night, and the place was hopping (no pun intended)! We tried their Calabrese pizza as well as the beer cheese which were both lovely. We were so impressed with the service/friendliness of the staff--they were so attentive and quick despite how busy they were. They have a sizable indoor area that completely opens out towards their "patio" which includes a few gondolas. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town! read more

On our second visit here, we skipped the flight, as well as the pizza, and each had two of what we liked the most from our first visit. I had the Key West Kolsch, while my wife enjoyed her Locals Lager. They were busy, but we found a table. Service was around when we needed it and friendly enough. Cute little brewery in downtown Steamboat! We came here for a bite to eat after hitting up the hot springs. Despite being a brewery first, they have a pretty expansive food menu. We started with the garlic rolls to share as a table. These were VERY garlicky. The roasted garlic is rolled up into the bread, so you're getting bites of whole cloves -- if that's not your jam, might want to skip out on this one. Really loves the shishto pepeprs though! We also shared a couple pizzas - the margarita being the favorite. We tried the specials which consisted of mushrooms and a summer sausage (I think?) It was good but a little heavy. Really disappointing experience! I visited mountain tap several years ago and was excited to rev here on my first night back in town. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing for a spring break starting tomorrow. While I'm happy that the staff will get a break, the brewery was out of almost everything. There was signage - clearly visible at least - and our waiter conveniently waited to tell us that until after we had ordered our drinks. The one thing they did have were their garlic knots. They were undercooked and our waiter didn't even comp them despite being inedible. We chugged our drinks and left to find food. Only giving it two stars because the beers are delicious and the environment is fun to hangout in (especially in the summer when the garage doors are open). Best Pizza I've had in 2025! The Farmer was absolutely delicious. Neapolitan style cooked to perfection with a balance of all ingredients in every bite. Seemingly a very family friendly spot, with a true local vibe. They have fun Gondola seating if you get lucky to snag it. The layout mainly consists of large long picnic tables so you may be sharing a table if your group is small enough. Thoroughly disappointed in the management here. Three of us stopped in after skiing to redeem complimentary beers. Before we even sat down, management spotted the tickets and shut it down. We were told we were five minutes past the cutoff--even though we had rushed down from the mountain, showered, and driven over specifically to make it in time. Instead of a little grace, we got a snarky: "We're not in the business of giving away free beer." Okay... then why offer complimentary beers? For context, on a prior visit we were about 20 minutes past the cutoff and the waitress handled it with total class--she let us know and still took care of us. No attitude, just good customer service. This time was completely different. Rigid, dismissive, and honestly kind of embarrassing--especially because I had brought two friends with me and told them not to worry, that we'd make it in time. We were planning to stay, have drinks, order food, and make an afternoon of it. Instead, we were shut down before we even sat down. We've been here before. We've followed the rules. We made the effort to get there. None of that seemed to matter. And it wasn't even busy. A small amount of flexibility would have turned us into loyal customers for the afternoon (and probably beyond). Instead, it did the opposite. We had a group ready to spend money and enjoy ourselves--but that moment set the tone. Why stay when there are plenty of other places in town that actually want your business? Next time, we'll head to The Barley--completely different vibe. Way more relaxed, bigger beer selection, and actually welcoming. We've spent time there before (even a Super Bowl potluck), and it's always a great, fun atmosphere. This is actually the second review we've left. You'd think management might respond with something like, "Hey, we missed the mark--come back and we'll make it right." Everyone makes mistakes. Even Tom Brady missed easy passes. And for the record--we're great customers. Good tippers, easygoing, and social--the kind of group that adds to the atmosphere, not takes away from it. Instead, this felt petty, rigid, and completely avoidable--borderline predatory, honestly. And not at all customer-friendly. More broadly, it's disappointing because it doesn't feel like the Steamboat I remember. That easygoing, friendly vibe seems to be fading--replaced with something more rushed and transactional. Whether it's on the roads or the slopes, everyone's in a hurry, and the warmth the town used to be known for is harder to find. Not the experience we were hoping for--and not how you treat customers. Mountain Tap Brewery was fabulous. Who doesn't love pizza? And when it's made with locally sourced ingredients and wood fired - I mean, really, what's not to like? We weren't even hungry - that should say it all. We inhaled two pizzas, lol. So. Very. Good. I'm pretty sure any pie will be great, but if you're curious about our choices, we opted for the Shepherd and the Calabrese. The Spanish baked goat cheese with flatbread was also amazing and exactly the appetizer that paved the way for more food, lol. I'm fairly sure you can order anything and be a happy camper. Wow! A popular place off the main strip and right next to the river so perfect location to stop for beer or lunch if your doing any river water actives. We came with our dog and they allow dogs in the patio just not inside even though the doors were open. Dispute having umbrellas at the tables there wasn't shade other than at the tables. They have another small area you can stand but it doesn't have any shade. We just grabbed a few beers which were good. This is a fun place near the river to stop off for a snack after walking or shopping. The beers were decent, not my favorite but they had a decent variety. The arugula dad was good and was good serving size, however the raspberry vinaigrette needed some work. I really like the combination flavors and the almonds in top worked well. The pizza was interesting. I liked the flavor combinations with the arugula and prosciutto, however there was a bit too much of the balsamic. The crust had such a great texture but the bottom was a bit burned- darn it because that almost a slam dunk! Went there on 6/19/21. We got there a few minutes after they opened and were able to get a seat at the bar top. (This was the first time since 2019 we sat at a bar top.) it felt so regular. They have a good selection of beers from light to dark. Nothing special but all good. We tried a the brown, saison, lager, golden ale, passion fruit wheat and the session ipa. All good stuff. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Huge patio. With a lot of community tables. Very open area. They are dog friendly. They do serve food, looks like mostly pizzas. Will def be back. Still my favorite pizza at the boat. We grabbed a seat at the bar after riding and I started with a local cider. It was dry hopped lemongrass cider. Not too sweet; very refreshing. I ordered a margherita pizza and my husband got the calabrese and Calabrian chili. The cozy wood fired pizza oven was perfect on a cold, snowy day. The pizza was quick and cooked just right. We couldn't finish our pizza but we're craving some fresh veggies so we ordered a small chaser to share and it was just the right amount of dressing tossed with the fresh lettuce and arugula. We split a flight of beer for dessert so that we could sample some of the unique beer flavors. From a Belgian farmhouse peche to a robust barrel aged Porter; they were all delicious.
