I was directed to The Pig II Deli where Craig made me the perfect sandwich for my long drive home. He was incredibly sweet and patient and I watched a lot of people coming in and leaving with a big smile on their face. Great little deli in an unassuming spot. I looked up at the sign and looked at my coffee cup and noticed they had the same logo. I had purchased the coffee at the Blue Line Coffee Shop in Inlet and this was the Blue Line Market in Blue Mt. Lake. The coffee shop always has good coffee so I figured they would have good food here. We decided to have lunch. They had 3 chalkboard menus one with breakfast, one with sandwiches and one with pizza. I ordered a ham and Swiss with Adirondack mustard. My son asked for a pizza but she said they don't sell slices only whole pies and it would take 20 minutes to prepare so he got a sandwich, my husband got roast beef and horseradish. The sandwiches were served with kettle chips and a pickle. The food came out quickly and was brought to our table. We got some drinks from the cooler including Battenkill dairy chocolate milk. They have pastries in the case and some other snacks. They also have an ice cream window. In addition to food they have some nice souvenirs including items with their special Adirondack logo. I would stop again on the way to and from this part of the Adirondacks.

The deck is rustic -- meaning it had a couple of holes in it -- and there's no longer a view of the lake, as there must have been forty years ago before the brush grew up -- but it's a really pleasant spot for an outdoor meal. The antique place that shares the building wasn't open when we were there, but I can see how combining some browsing with sipping would make for a diversion from lake life. (The bathroom situation could use some improvement, but they do have to share with another business, so we will ignore that.)

It's obvious they have a great selection of healthy looking produce, baked goods, and other goods in a bright and cozy house on the main road. I told the person who helped me at the counter that I stopped in because "why not?" May this be a sign to go for your "why not?" here because this is the best strawberry pie I've ever had. I couldn't wait to write about it before we've even tried the maple syrup. Will definitely be back to try more!
