I recently decided to find a new doctor - I was tired of driving from Haymarket to the City of Fairfax for medical appointments - I was lucky to find the doctor I now have! His name is Dr. Vipul Parikh. I found him due to a recommendation from my Mother - she had also recently switched Doctors - and she really liked this Doc - so I thought I would give him a try. His practice is located on the third floor of the Heathcote Health Center medical building - located at the western end of Heathcote Boulevard. I went in for my initial meeting/consultation to scope him out - liked the overall vibe of the Doc and his practice and went with him. He is very personable, listens to your concerns, and takes the time to patiently articulate things. Worst experience ever with a medical office. The Physicians assistant coded my insurance wrong. Long story short, after a year of run around from the office staff and manager I finally gave up and paid the $1500 out of pocket. I even sent Dr Parikh a certified letter to make sure he knew of the problem. I never got a response from him either. I've probably been to hundreds of medical offices, and have never had such a bad and unprofessional experience. Nice pretty office though. read more

I became a patient of Kajal Parikh when she co-located with her husband, Dr Vipul Parikh, about five years ago after by previous pcp passed away. The Parikhs came highly recommended by several of our neighbors and my experience has been the same. I've come to respect Mrs. Dr. Parikh, as she is sometimes known, as careful, thorough and caring. I originally presented with coronary, lymphoproliferative and GI issues. I added pulmonary, paralytic and additional coronary issues after a very serious auto accident. Not surprisingly this collection of problems has included patient questions that were new. I've never known her to shoot from the hip! Instead she is willing to take the time to research new questions and only after she is comfortable with the situation does she proceed. She has been thorough as issues have arisen. When I first joined the practice she reached out to address a number of issues that had not been treated by my former PCP. This was most obvious in the battery of overdue tests she ordered to diagnose the cause of a chronic edema but it was true in other areas as well. More recently I was surprised and delighted after an easy surgical procedure ordered by a specialist to receive a call on behalf of Dr. Parikh asking if I was doing ok and if there was anything she could do to support me. My first office visit after my accident was very special. Everything she said and did made it clear that she really cared and was delighted with my tentative steps toward recovery. That afternoon I knew I was in the best possible professional hands. The recommendations I received years ago emphasized how much the Parikh's cared about their patients and that is so true. Kajal Parikh is an extremely intelligent woman and a fine doctor. I highly recommend her. read more

Been going here well over 15 yrs DO not want to go anywhere else. Dr. Parihk is the best of the best.

I tried calling to ask if they take new patients. They put me on hold 30 minutes and then picked up and hung up. When I called back and said I couldn't hold they said "thank you" and put me back on hold. Something definitely wrong w this office. Later when I spoke to someone on the phone they said they no longer see anyone in the office that are sick. Well people only. Lol I told them I don't go to doctors when I'm well so no thanks. read more

Absolutely horrible reception area, it's a shame to know that the doctor is allowing lunatics to run that business into the ground. Zero telephone etiquette and very very unprofessional. Just a quick review on MVIM - my family has all been coming here for years. We moved out kids from a local pediatrician to MV as well so we are all centralized to one doctor office which helps if multiple of us are ill. Anyway, Dr. V. Parikh and his staff have always been amazing. Shout out to Dr. Parihk, Jessica, Odette, Dr. Liisa Field (5++ stars) and to the front office staff, can't name them all but all so great. They are always a pleasure to talk to and walk in to whenever we have to visit. I do love their new office location too. They used to be located in the same building as the hospital but needed more space so relocated to Heathcote, near Harris Teeter, Heritage Hunt, Thursdays restaurant area. Unprofessional, rude reception and office manager. Patient care is not a priority, days to get a pediatric sick visit. Poor communication and no timely follow up despite multiple calls in a day, forced to leave unanswered voice mails regarding a sick child with zero follow up. Accepted too many patients, not able to safely care for the current patients and still accepting new patients. Concerned parents.... keep looking. read more

I have been going to Dr. Parikh for about 6 years now and he is an excellent physician. He listens to you and never tries to over sell tests or procedure. As he sees children as well he is the primary physician for the whole family and in rare cases when we needed to ask him something he was very quick to respond back. In 2008 I was looking for a new doctor after my primary care doctor retired. A neighbor recommended Dr. Parikh and I have been going there ever since. Dr.Parikh is a kind, passionate doctor who listens to your medical issues and explains in laymans terms what the problem is and how the best way to treat it.. The first impression of this Doc office is so poor, they monitor phones for a limited amount of time and would expect that when they do it is reflective of the same. The person answering the phone seems like they are an ER doctor. You call, Hello can you please hold and before you can say hello back or say you are fine to hold, you are on hold. she says it so fast you can barely understand what she is saying. I was on hold indefinitely , I hung up and called again, same thing, the only difference is that she now hung up on me. I asked to speak to the office manager she instead told me to leave my name and number they would call be back. The front office of any place is telling of what happens in the office. OFFICIALLY taking my not so welcome business elsewhere. read more

My entire family has been going to Dr. Parikh for the last 9 years. He is one of the best doctors we have ever had. The office is clean, the staff is terrific, and Doc really knows his stuff. I would not recommend this practice because of front office policies. I believe the medical care to be good. Three warnings: Carefully read your EOBs( explanation of benefits), the in-office lab is out-of-network for Anthem BC/BS and do not discuss any medical problems during a preventive visit( yearly check up) as it will be coded as an office visit thus requiring a copayment. read more

The staff is very rude. They consistently do not listen to what the patient has to say. The staff and physician assistant do not allow for patient input as to what medicines work for them. The physician assistant will verbally fight with you, talk over and down to you and get aggressive and worse laugh at you, when she perceives a patient is "challenging" her over what she wants to prescribe....does not matter to her that you already have a medication that is working for you for years....the PA wants to put her two cents in and say what she wants you to take, especially pushes over the counter. If a parent speaks up to much the office manager will literally threaten to throw you out of the room, and this is with a sixteen year old child present and he does not want me to leave....he feels so bad he literally asked me to talk mostly for him. The PA is disgusting in how she treats long term patients and my three children are done with the practice. I wish I could rate them a zero!! To your poor response. There was absolutely no miscommunication at all. I was clearly treating extremely poorly after 5+ years of going to this practice. Let me be perfectly clear. My son was already taking the medicine prescribed by the doctor and the PA was arguing with me for over 10 minutes to switch to over the counter and I was frustrated. Then my son needed a note because of his severe allergies not to go outside for PE and the PA was arguing with me that he needed exercise, "but what his he going to do for exercise? How is he going to get exercise? It's very important he gets exercise. I need to talk to him about it." He's a skinny kid in excellent health so I know he can go without PE class outdoors until the pollen stops, the doctor when I was able to see him last year freely gave him the note smiling and more than agreed its the best thing to do but no the PA was rude and argumentative again. My recommendation for all who read this is don't be lulled in by the doctor being nice because its impossible to get him, especially on sick visits. You will get stuck with the PA then I say good luck with the wanna doc/non doc PA. read more
