Between both of my kids, they have gone there for over 6 years. The owners and staff have been amazing. Life changed and they adapted to the changes with no questions asked; all they said was "anything you need, communicate." All of the teachers through out our years with the goose have been exceptional, Ms Tima has and always will be my children's favorite teacher ever. She got into a bad accident last year visiting her family, and my children cried, they wanted to make sure Ms. Tima was okay. WE are SO blessed she is still here with us today. My daughter LOVED helping Tima with anything in the classroom and Tima knew she could always count on my daughter to help her. Ms Tori, you may feel like you're not recognized enough, but you ARE. Bible is a regular subject and there are daily prayers and a weekly chapel where all grades gather for worship and then to listen to an age-appropriate Biblical message. It's comforting knowing that our values and beliefs are being reinforced at school by like-minded adults, most of whom see their job at Excel as a ministry. Another aspect that I really appreciate is the small class sizes. There is only one class per grade, so my daughter has been with the same group of kids throughout her school career. This has allowed her to form deeper friendships than she would be able to having to start over with a new class each year and it also means I am familiar with most of her classmates and their parents so I know who she is hanging out with and what kind of homes they are from. Each teacher so far has had his or her own teaching style and personality, but I have no complaints about any of them. They have all been very loving and caring in their own way. Excel is non-Denominational and not sponsored by any particular church or denomination, so there is a diverse mix of students and teachers who attend many different Christian churches in the area. While it's a small school, it is still relatively ethnically diverse for its size. I expected that there would be a trade off with diversity when we chose to send our daughter there, but have been pleasantly surprised that she has never been the only person of color in her class and our interracial family has never once felt out of place or discriminated against in the slightest. Academically, I have no complaints. The curriculum (besides Bible, obviously) seems pretty standard and similar to what you'd find in a public school. My daughter is on part with her grade level. Yes, it is a private school. Yes, you have to pay money for something that the government is willing to give you for "free," but it's money well spent, in my opinion. We aren't wealthy. We are a working class family struggling to get by, but we are happy to go without many things to know that our children are growing up being taught about the redeeming love of Christ at the place they spend most of their waking hours because at the end of the day that's what will give them the best shot at being happy in life.

There is high turn over with in the staff and the board has a problem with being transparent and upfront with the parents. The atmosphere of the student body is very clicky and heavy with favoritism which might be the reason for a bullying epidemic there. The cost to benefit just isn't there when you are literally getting the same education in the public school system. This school started out strong when it was first built but over the past 5 years it has really gone down hill while its tuition increased due to the population growth in the area.

The owners & teachers couldn't be more incredible, they have went above and beyond all of my expectations! Perfect communication and the commitment to creating a community! This daycare is a safe and truly amazing facility, we are super great full to be apart of it and plan to be looking forward! Snacks, naps, play, individualized attention are all day to day here. This is our third year at Hunsberger and we love our school! Molly Lauf, our Principal, is wonderful with the children and is always looking for ways to improve the school. The Hunsberger PTA puts on several family-friendly events throughout the year and purchases much of the state of the art technology that the school district does not provide. In addition to purchasing equipment, the PTA also supports several programs that are not offered or paid for through the district, such as Foss kits, Kindness Enrichment programs and art. The Hunsberger art program offers all students opportunities to learn about artists and different mediums such as watercolors, oil pastels, acrylics as well as ceramic art. I love seeing all of the hallways lined with the art the kids have created! Not only is the school itself great, but the parents, many of whom volunteer their time on a regular basis are fantastic and always willing to help each other and look out for each others children. I am SO glad that I chose to live where I do, and part of that decision was based on the schools we are zoned for! All in all, this school is amamzing.......now, if only there was something we could do about the chaotic parking lot traffic! (Ha!)

It has gotten very crowded since it became a SWAS site as the siblings of SWAS attend as well. We saw the K class half day become a full day option, with 30 kids in the full day. One teacher and an aid....way crowded throughout. Our son was too distracted with a big class, so we were discouraged, but by years end our K student was reading end of first grade readers! They do group kids by level of learning even within a class. Our 2nd grader was in a class of 36 kids, with two teachers, but it was way large. They did again tiered learning, so he did great too. The parents make the school awesome.

I'm very selective about where my children go due to bad experiences in the past and this place far exceeded our expectations the teachers care about the children and take the time to make sure that you as a parent are aware and involved if I had not left Nevada, my children would still be at the center. I love the education. Both my children are ahead because of the dedication of the teachers, their physical, mental and social development all improved while being there, I'm sorry some people had some bad experiences but I can tell you for me and my family it was a lifesaver.

The owner and administrators go above and beyond to make ISLC a safe and fun place for children. They truly put their hearts into their work and environment, and it shows. If we have ever had an issue, teachers and admin have always been quick to hear our concerns and address any issues. ISLC has always felt like family to us.
