I've owned horses for 50 years, did years of self care and a few years boarding, I have NEVER seen such unprofessional behavior from the owners (Dawn). They also recently had 2 horses die on the property!!

While there I'd made several friends and we all can still have an occasional laugh and shake our heads about our experiences with the owners. I just checked to see if those original owners are still running the place and came across the reviews. Amazing the same scenarios are still taking place and I just wanted to validate the comments and feel compelled to make this post to warn others against considering boarding there. Good facilities are scarce on the Front Range and you don't want to be in the position of having to leave suddenly and scramble to find a place for your horse (as many have had to) or have your horse "impounded" for back payment of outrageous add-on fees. (Yes, that happened.). Please take the time to seek out emotionally healthy and ethical folks to entrust your horse and yourself to by asking around and talking to other boarders as can be so hard to know this on first contact with these folks.

I started boarding here prior to stable and indoor arena being built upon promises of having a…read morelarge indoor, bathroom, tack cupboards, rider's lounge, shelter for pasture horses. Wel, she delivered the indoor- which floods with heavy rain. Really bad hay that wasn't covered or stored on pallets. When I was leaving she put hay inside the indoor. The interior is all DYI done as cheaply as possible. Fencing is covered wire she got on the cheap, then didn't install that or posts correctly. Posts kept getting loose and crooked, snapped wire in the runs not fixed. She had time to build jumps for cross country (fell apart during winter and left for months scattered about), a chicken coop ( built INSIDE the indoor), but never had the time or money to maintain or provide what was promised to boarders. My pasture horse was on a dry lot without shelter for about a year and a half. I helped build the 3/4 done shed. She never got around to putting the roof on. Horses had one bad large bale to share. Me and another boarder kept picking up trash around the place constantly. It always got trashed even more. When I was there, just short of 2 years, there was no barn aisle- see pictures. So much more to say, but the final straw was when she picked a fight with me during a lesson then started talking about me IN FRONT OF ME to other boarders. The last month my horses were there they were barely in the stalls because she felt they should all be outside. But we PAID for the use of the stalls! Very clique oriented barn. Favorites are obvious. Owner talks not only about all her boarders to all the other boarders, but spills extremely personal information about her personal relationship. I have other pictures of this dump. So happy to be out of there and my horses are all doing and looking better with better hay and cleaner, safer facilities.

My wife bought a groupon for this company for our anniversary…read more My wife scheduled a ride for Her, I and our 2 kiddos for June 9th, 2019. We drove an hour and a half to get to the place and we of course showed up an hour early, met with Mike one of the wranglers and he invited us to take a stroll while we waited for our ride, we did all the paperwork and got the kids helmets picked out, went for a beautiful walk and returned for our ride. Sadly Mike almost in tears says we were not on his schedule, said it happens quite often and hes left as the face to be the bad guy, we tried calling the office line but no answer, we were turned away to drive an hour and a half back home, great anniversary right? So not a single call from anyone in the office to appologize for the error, we contacted Groupon and got a full refund but still, not even an apology from the company for basically ruining our planned anniversary! Mike was great and it wasnt his fault clearly and the fact he got emotional made it all the easier to walk away friendly even tho my wife was really upset and my kids disheartened. I sure hope this company has more people like Mike and realizes they have very poor customer service to at least reach out to a customer and apologize for the inconvenience but I guess they just dont care. I wont ever schedule with this company again, and surely wont ever recommend them to anyone because of this situation. I'd recommend people to just go a few miles to Estes park and visit with Sombrero rather than deal with this irresponsible company. Thanks again Mike for your empathy and I hope you have nothing but great rides and the very best in life, you clearly deserve a great life.

My daughter is an experienced rider and she enjoyed it. I was simply along for the ride. We had to change our day and time due to an injury, but were so accommodating and changed everything for us. No fuss about the change. You don't see service like that anymore. The trail is along a path and you get as far as your time allows. We didn't get too far because we had some slow riders. I would highly recommend the for beginners. If you have a larger group you'll have better luck at setting the pace and get farther along the path. It's not the guides fault if folks are slow. Keep that in mind when going. Be on time as this activity starts at the parking lot of the head of a trail. We enjoys the horses and the guides.
