It is my home and I love it here for many reasons First I would say the staff here are very helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to see to our every need. The residence is very clean. It is spacious with a library, game room and a laundry facility to wash your clothes. Once a week my room is cleaned and new linens and towels supplied The maintenance men are very attentive and immediately fix any problems The food here is excellent and the menu is varied. Everything is delicious and healthy. I am diabetic and the kitchen staff bends over backwards to help me with my diet providing sugar free alternatives. You can get as much food as you want and even take leftovers to your room There are many activities, a well equipped exercise room, a library with a wide variety of novels and reference books to borrow My entire family can visit me here. They can attend special events and dinners. I would highly recommend Brookside if you are looking for yourself or a loved one.

Unfortunately she fell recently and is recovering in the hospital but she mentions missing her pals and home almost daily. The staff goes all out to make their residents have a good time. Theres always something going on at Brookside. I was just there visiting (I am from Hawaii) this past Thanksgiving and there was a talented musician playing in the dining area. My Mom acted like she would rather be in there with her friends and neighbors than coming with me to our family gathering! hahaha. Below is my mom, sister and BIL at their recent Hawaiian Luau night. FUN. Is it contemporary modern with posh upscale finishings? No it is not. Does mom care? She could give a rip. Do we care? NOT ONE BIT. The price is right and the community there is EVERYTHING!! Thank you Brookside staff for all you do! And big mahalo for hanging some of my moms large art pieces in your common areas! Makes her really feel at HOME.

Housekeeping does a very good job keeping areas sanitary. The physical therapy room is wonderful and the therapists are very good at helping the patients with their exercises.

Dr. Rao needs to be removed and replaced in hopes someone else can do better for their patients

The staff is really friendly but they had a hard time controlling unruly patrons, especially my mother's roommate, who treated her like garbage half the time, even after it was reported. They were very nice to loan us a wheelchair after she was discharged. One of the therapists was kind of annoying, surprising considering he was a Marine, but all in all the staff was wonderful! One of the administrators entered my mother's room without knocking and asked what we were doing (financial paperwork considering I had to do it there, since mother wasn't at home). I had to tell him it was none of his business. I understand that they have to make sure relatives don't take advantage of the elderly financially but he didn't even explain why he was there, just asked to see our paper work. All in all a pleasant experience, according to my mother!

During the approximately six months she stayed there, she experienced three separate falls while under their care. After the second fall, she suffered significant bruising across the left side of her face that lasted for weeks, and our family was deeply concerned about the seriousness of her injuries. Following her third fall, her condition declined rapidly, and she passed away three days later. Our family is devastated and heartbroken by what happened. We entrusted this facility with her care and safety during a vulnerable time in her life. We believe there were serious concerns regarding fall prevention, supervision, and communication with our family throughout her stay. I am sharing our experience because families deserve to ask questions, stay involved, and carefully monitor the care their loved ones receive in rehabilitation and nursing facilities. I hope the facility takes concerns like these seriously and thoroughly reviews its policies and procedures to help prevent other families from experiencing a similar tragedy. To the staff and administration: I urge you to examine what happened during my mother's care and make resident safety your highest priority. I write this as my personal experience and opinion based on what my family witnessed.

Later, I went into the store to find that our "treasures" were displayed nicely and that the store was clean and had many nice things items to buy at reasonable prices.
