Moss Busters are great! The folks I had communicated with throughout the process (Keaton and Drew)…read morewere awesome. As a new homeowner, I appreciated their knowledge and help. They were friendly, too! I highly recommend them and I will certainly be giving them my business in the future. I hired them to do roof cleaning, gutter cleaning and moss-prevention treatment. And to me, the price was fair and affordable. Again, I'm a new homeowner and this was the first time I ever had to do this... so even if what I paid was too much (I wouldn't know), I don't care because their stellar customer alone was worth every penny. Thanks, Moss Busters! I'll see you again in September!

When they finished the job, I could see only very tiny moss on my roof, but it was very very small. That's what sold me on them. You get immediate results after the cleaning rather than having to wait on the moss inhibitor powder from kicking months down the road. Having said that their prices were in line with 3 of 4 quotes I had gotten and I was able to call someone on the phone and ask several questions that they did a great job answering. The only issue I had was that they had to come back to my house two more times to get the job done right. The first time they had a miscommunication with my gutters that was stated in my quote but wasn't done, so they came back and did it. I managed to catch them where they weren't that far away. The second time, was because I requested it because they missed washing a gutter and the ends of my gutter on my dormer were not quite clean. I took pics and sent it to them for proof. They did call me back the next day and apologized and had someone come over in the afternoon to clean the missed gutters and double check all gutters. They did clean all the debris quite well, in fact it looked better than when they started. I really appreciated that. Roof looks great, gutters look great and I'm satisfied, however I was told I would get before and after pics and it's been a few days so far and I have not gotten any pics. I would use them again but definitely recommend double checking their work to make sure nothing was missed.

I had an active roof leak and needed help quickly, and their team was responsive, professional, and reassuring from the start. Juan spent an hour with me evaluating all of my various options, advising me that replacing my entire roof was in my best interest due to the leakage and poor craftsmanship of the entire roof (I had already had my roof patched a few times before). He had more members of his team take a look as well and give their opinions. Other roofers offered to patch up the hole, but once the whole roof was torn off, it was discovered, like Juan guessed, that there was more damage underneath than previously thought. The wood was rotting and the trusses were warping due to all the excess weight from two layers of roofing and long term water damage. Juan and his team replaced plywood, added additional support to the trusses and made sure the entire job was done right. Also, they provided a fair and transparent estimate, communicated clearly throughout the process, and completed the entire job in just two days! They brought out 12 guys and had two layers of my roof torn off an then replace so fast! They got it all done right before the atmospheric river came through. The quality of their work and efficiency truly exceeded my expectations. They even came out a few days later to do another inspection to make sure nothing was missed and they spray painted all pipes and hardware to make sure it matched my new black roof color. I'm very grateful for their prompt service and would highly recommend Country Roads Roofing to anyone in need of reliable, high-quality roofing work. We've lived in our home for 9 years and this roof has been a nightmare the entire time, but not any longer! We are so thankful and I know it sounds cheesy, but I actually feel like I made a friend. Thank you Juan and team!

Juan was the first to respond, the first to visit the site and the first to quote. He quoted a price for asphalt shingles and offered an alternative to asphalt shingles which was aluminum shingles. After receiving other quotes I chose Country Roads Exteriors and the aluminum shingles they suggested. The resulting roof is highly attractive, offers benefits of a lifetime warranty, low maintenance, better high wind resistance and greater fire resistance. Communications during the process were excellent. The process of installing the roof went very well. The promised schedule was met. The workmanship was first rate. The cleanup was complete. I highly recommend this company.

Northstar's team just installed a metal roof on our 1910 residential house in Sellwood. They did…read moresome siding, added some insulation in the attic and other work to give our house a nice upgrade. We decided to invest in a metal roof for its strength, good look, and longevity. And it can be recycled at the end of its life - that seems better than throwing asphalt shingles into a landfill. Northstar's team was comprised of good people with great skills who work together well. The price was reasonable and they had good references. Highly recommend.

I have to admit, I was a little hesitant when I received Northstar's bid. They were scheduling work…read morewhen other metal siding contractors were declining jobs for the rest of the year. Was their availability a bad sign? What was I missing? I'm so glad that I decided to check Northstar's references (glowing) and move forward. They were awesome! Their install team was professional and courteous, from repairing my home's sheathing and installing the house wrap, to interacting with the windows contractor and installing the siding. They clearly had experience installing the product (Metallion's seamless siding). (Example: They were able to disguise a 4" discrepancy in elevation between one corner of the house and an adjacent corner 30' away. Wow!) Most importantly, they were polite and accommodating to my many questions and requests. They even threw in some extra work at cost. We are delighted with the end result. We regularly receive compliments on how our house looks. We are thrilled to have new siding that never needs a drop of paint, a fact that offsets the higher materials cost than cement board. (Speaking of 'offsetting,' the siding manufacturer (SteelScape, in WA) operates on hydroelectric power, and the siding is recyclable at end of life. If you're replacing your siding, consider the material's entire lifecycle.) I would recommend NorthStar Restorations without hesitation. If you can get on their schedules, count yourself lucky. PS - If you're removing your old siding, this is the time to insulate your home. Ask Northstar to install 1" foam board onto your home's sheathing. This will help to prevent thermal bridging. The foam board increased the project cost about 20%: well worth it to increase comfort all year 'round. While you're at it, have NW Weatherization dense pack cellulose into your stud bays -- dense pack cost another 10%. Now our walls are a true R-18 -- no penalty for heat loss through the framing. Reading: "Thermal Bridging" by Martin Holladay in Fine Homebuilding, 2010 "Calculating the Minimum Thickness of Rigid Foam Sheathing" - Green Building Advisor (October 2010) "Fiberglass versus Cellulose - GreenBuildingAdvisor (March 2012) "Comparing Exterior Wall Finishes Using Life-Cycle Assessment," 7th International Building Physics Conference, IBPC2018 PPS - Three details if I could do the project over again: I would have insisted on house wrap and foam board that was not a vapor barrier (limited materials choices in late 2021). I would have laid 6' of weed mat around the house and landscaping, to pick up errant shavings of siding scrap at the very end. I would have negotiated a round of touch-up work. Small bare patches, where the color coating gets scratched off during installation, seem unavoidable.
