Front gate is always broken, pool is closed every Monday for "cleaning" yet it is always DISGUSTING, playground is always trashed, "gym" has like 2 machines and is usually locked, no one in the front office EVER answers the phone, office is "appointment only" but you can never get an appointment, roaches, spiders, rodents, no urgency for maintenance requests ( I've heard from others that they've had broken appliances, including AC, for YEARS), office employees are rude and unprofessional.. the list goes on and on. I've lived at 10 different apartments and I have never had this many issues, nor have I ever dealt with such rude, lazy, and incompetent office employees. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I lived here for almost 4 years. I was happy with my apartment, they are older and def have some issues and lots of flaws but for the price at the time I was willing to overlook the flaws. The real issues did not begin until the new property manager took over. Her name is Elizabeth Holmes. I was kind and courteous to her throughout my stay because I first handedly saw how absolutely horrific of a person she could be. Keep in mind I was not directly impacted by her, so my review is just my honest assessment of what I saw happening. She came in and immediately started not renewing peoples leases without explanation. Yes, legally she is not obligated to give one, however common courtesy when you are kicking someone out of their home is to provide some feedback so that they can have the ability to try and work on whatever the reason was. She also came in and started inspections, which I am all for making sure that people are keeping up their spaces. However, these inspections included going through peoples belongings such as cabinets and drawers. These events had the whole neighborhood on edge, nobody should have to feel threatened regarding a place that they live and pay for without substantial reason. There were people getting 7 day notices to fix things like blinds (cheap blinds that the apartment had provided) or they would be evicted. I was told stories of people having issues at move out with her trying to charge astronomical fees. This is the one thing that she was able to try with me. I had moved out of a 2 bedroom and into a 3 bedroom just over a year prior to move out and was refunded my security deposit bc I left the apartment in good condition. I left the 3 bedroom in the same condition and she is trying to charge me thousands. I have been in contact with other previous tenants who are experiencing the same. What was once a community that I was proud to call home has turned into somewhere that I would not recommend anyone live. While she has been so worried about things like blinds and charging insane move out fees, she is neglecting things such as the trash on the grounds and amenities being in working order. There are also people without working appliances, a friend went over a month without a working fridge, but dont have company because they will tow their vehicle. The disorganization and general chaos of the community has become absurd. I moved my family out the moment that I saw an opportunity to do so. There are several complexes in neighboring towns that offer so much more for the same price range, please reach out to them before Mountainside, at least until the current property manager is gone. Do not put yourself through the emotional distress that we had to endure with her and now the financial burden of hiring legal representation to fight her on the move out costs she is trying to claim. O stars. This apartment complex needs new management. The amenities that are offered are a joke. Pool was closed half of the summer, gated community with a broken gate for the last 6 months. Children's park with broken swings and trash all over. Not to mention 5 year Olds left unattended at the park. Kids banging on doors at all hours of the night during the holidays. Black mold growing in bathroom vents. Spoke to several residents, they all said the same. The reason lease wasn't renewed on neighbors apt. was so the manager could move her daughters in. Our lease wasn't renewed with no explanation. No one ever answers the phone at the office. For $1500 a month there are much nicer places than what Jasper calls "Meth Manor". read more

trust me when I say, you do not want to live here, please read the reviews before you consider this place. the staff was unprofessional and not on top of their jobs. the grounds around the property were not maintained, trash all around, stairs leading up to units are disgusting. it was beyond disappointing, considering the monthly rent they are charging. the units themselves are outdated, small and not maintained. everywhere you go it smells of smoke, carpets aren't clean whatsoever. all around, the worst place I've come across. stay as far away as you can. read more

Management is better now. Grounds and facilities are cleaner and better cared for than in the past. For the most part I don't hate living here. It is close to my job and close enough to shopping and what not. The only problem I have really is the maintenance is pretty creepy. Not all of them. The smallest one though is VERY creepy. I think it's justin or Dustin or something like that. He's always staring like in a creepy way. He will wink and kick his lips in a sexual way. It's messed up that someone like this is employed to go into our homes. I just do not feel safe. A few females have complained to the manager but nothing has changed so I don't know. My lease is up next month so im just gonna move. I will NOT be staying where i am made to feel uncomfortable by an overtly sexual man who comes in my home and is always starung and watching. Ugh! This complaint hasnt gone we for the other women so im nog stupid i didnt use my real nane for this review but it shoukd t be rhat way. The women of the complex shoukd be taken seriousky and protected rather than protecting an employee who has only been here for a few months. Hopefully nothing bad happens. This company are crooks. We resigned our lease in March. Since then they are trying to raise our rent. Saying the manager didn't sign it. The manager went as far as trying to white out our lease paper with our rent amount. Each month we get a notice on the door saying we have late fees and the difference of $150 each month. Had a notice last month in the amount of $1201. He is down right rude and degrades women. read more

Hi! My name is Jennifer Murphy. I rent an apartment from one of your properties in Jasper, Ga. I've been a faithful and great tenant for almost 4 years now! I recently have run into some trouble with the front office employees of Mountain Side Manor. The past 3 years, I've filled out my pre-certification forms on time and have submitted them. Days/weeks would pass and the front office lady would call me to set up an appointment to sign a new lease. I would go in, sign a new lease and be on my way. Easy! The last few months, however, I've had a different experience. They sent in my pre-verification forms. I sent them back in. Never heard anything from them. Days turned into weeks. And just thought they were busy like all the years before and they would call me. They never did. I got no call, no note - nothing. My air goes out in my apartment. The first time I call to ask for maintenance, the lady tells me that someone will be on their way. And "oh by the way" you're missing some information to sign the new lease. She tells me what is missing and I get in the things that she needs. ( I also waited 3 days to have my air fixed in 90 degree weather with my daughter and 2 dogs). Today, I got a letter on my door stating that I owe $394 or I will be evicted in 30 days. I go up to the office and they said it's a fee plus how much my rent went up from the new lease. But I never signed a new lease? So how would I know? I didn't miss the deadline. And I didn't know pieces were missing until I had to call to say that my air is broken. So I get penalized because the front office ladies didn't notify me that pieces were missing? It seems completely unlawful and unfair. Seeing as how I've been a completely loyal and quiet tenant for years. :( I would start reading some of the reviews that people have been posting because the property would be ok-ish if the front office had competent people working there. The girl that is the worst is the one who delivers the notes. She goes around to the back of the buildings, passively aggressively leaves the note, on a Friday-always, then disappears. Won't answer the phone and usually closes the office. So she won't have to deal with people and their questions and concerns until Monday. She never addresses any concern. Will belittle you and sarcastically tell you there is nothing she can do but to "have a great day". The absolute worst, unprofessional person that I've ever had to deal with. read more

This company is so poorly managed. When it came time to renew our lease that we were thinking of looking for a house around December and wanted to know if we could do a month to month lease. The manager then told my wife and I that we could break our lease in December with no penalty. This information was wrong. We moved back to Florida December 1st for new jobs and the manger flat out told me that he gave us and several others wrong information. Their manager has no business working there. He is either giving out information that if false purposely to keep rents or is unknowingly giving false information both are wrong in this case. Because we broke our lease we paid 2 months rent and lost our security deposit all this totaling over $2,000. We based our decision to stay at Mountainside Manor based on misinformation. When trying to call the regional manager I was forwarded to his voice mail every time. I left several voice messages explaining why I was calling and never received a call back. If you are considering renting here please look else where. This is the most unprofessional rental company I've every seen. They will take advantage of you if given the chance. read more

Rent is high, maintenance takes forever to fix anything, staff is rude. In fact the only things that are good about this apartment complex is the amenities and the more or less clean, and safe environment. Unit inspections are overkill. Several inspections a year and they don't care about your privacy. read more
