I can't even begin to express my gratitude for the staff at Mountain View Hospital!! From the man volunteering at the welcome desk, to the woman volunteering at the surgery check in on the second floor, customer service was exceptional! Thank you to nurse Steve J. Who assisted my mom in pre op., thank you for answering all of her questions, easing her concerns and walking us through the process! You're appreciated! *To the floor manager Janane, thank you for checking in on us and making sure we were receiving quality care. *To T. Barrett (hope I spelled it right) one of my mom's anesthesiologist for the day, your warm smile and clarification on the ETT and why it was needed definitely scared her but she understood thank you! *To Dr. Strebel for her outstanding care, professionalism and taking it a step further after surgery and finding me in the lobby to explain all went well and showing pictures of the concern areas. I've never came across a better group of individuals who were passionate about the care provided today. Everybody we came across wore a smile, checked in , offered reassurance, and had no problem answering the many of questions my worried mother had. I really can't say thank you enough! May all of you continue to blessed.

Ask the Community - MountainView Hospital

How was the Labor and delivery experiences and what do they offer for free with postpartum?

I have no idea. I Wasn't in the labor delivery area, just regular surgery! Everything is great at this hospital❤️

Are we allowed to record births?

Depends you have to ask the nurses and doctor and they will make you fill out a video consent and all that jazz when you arrive in L&D

Do they provide the "walking epidural" here?

We just moved here from Cali. And we don't have family here. I am expecting twins and I would like for my BF to be in the delivery room with me. But we have a 4 yr old son. Would they allow for them to stay with me while I go into labor?

No . I'm currently here at 11 pm . A husband was told to stay in the waiting room downstairs with their son . The expecting mother had to go by herself . Her son isn't allowed upstairs past 10pm in the hospital .

Does your newborn get to stay in the room with you at all times?

Yes, they let them stay with you the whole time.

Would like to hear experiences for the inpatient rehab facilities. How was your experience?

    Yes!

Haylee stood out by how much she cares for her patients in making sure I was fed which is a big deal because I hadn't had a meal in over 24 hours. Though a nurse in training, Southern Hills would be unwise to not hire Haylee as a nurse when the opportunity arises. Yessica, just wow. The nurse that everyone would want. She acted like a patient advocate and helped in make sure surgery heard my concerns. While helping me she seemed genuinely concerned. I heard them complain about other patients about pain meds. I came in for a different reason, and for the duration I have been here, I've listened and accepted what they've given me (which have had produced negative outcomes). When they've forgotten something, they then tried to tie me in to the blame since I also didn't remember it. Excuse me? I'm literally a patient. If someone checks in because they can no longer self manage their health, and it then becomes that person's responsibility to reach out for help, how are people like myself supposed trust I'm in good hands and for what reason am I asking for help, just to get backhanded with a finger pointing game? I can't get treated here anymore. They're being paid so much they can't relate to their patients, anyone outside of it. Very elitist behavior. It's dysfunctional. They're so detached. They don't have the right to pretend they made no mistakes. It's permeated the Healthcare field, the stoicism and bias seen here. I'm absolutely disappointed, can't even expect the basic levels of cooperation. For further context, I almost passed out. I experienced this feeling before, and wanted to address it. So I came in, and they look at everything else unrelated. The nurses don't seem to care about actually addressing the issues. Some of the equipment is outdated and broken, the lowest quality. There's no diversity in how patients like me would be perceived because of the culture here. I'm in the position of having to try and prove why I need to be treated. That's messed up.

The nurse tells me that I will continue to cry until I quit moving. My pain level was 10+, agony. She said that she can give one pain pill, than sat in front of her computer without another word. Now I am taken to my room, still crying in pain. Nurses get me settled in. I noticed that my bed is inflating and deflating and every time it does that, excruciating pain. The nurses come back in an hour for a check, I asked them to please turn the mechanism off that is making the bed do this. So the nurse it pushes some button and leaves. Lo and behold, the bed is still doing this. Another person comes in and I tell them the same thing, they push some buttons and leave, again the bed is still inflating and deflating. This cycle goes on from 3 in the afternoon until 9:30, I ask every person that comes into my room to please fix my bed. At this point I am thinking that they're just sadistic and enjoy seeing patients in pain. I was already in pain from the surgery and then they caused me more for 6 1/2 hours. The nurse in charge that evening said that she would have her manager or supervisor come talk to me, no one ever showed up. They finally replaced the bed. The nurses during the day were also an hour to almost 2 hours late, giving me my pain medication. My pain never went away during the day. I cried non stop from the time I woke up from surgery about noon until 2am, the next day. During the day, I also rang a nurse because I had to go to the bathroom. It took them 45 minutes to come help me. By the time a nurse got to my room and assisted me getting up, I peed all the way to the bathroom. How humiliating! Since the manager or supervisor never came to my room so that I could voice my complaints, Henderson Hospital has given me no choice but to air my grievances here. What a miserable stay, I cannot wait to go home.

The entire visit with the doctor lasted less than five minutes. I was then sent for blood work. Even though I had fasted beforehand just in case, I was told the specific test had to be completed before a certain time, so I had to schedule another appointment. When I returned for my second appointment after making another 30-minute drive, I was informed that the phlebotomist wasn't there, so I couldn't even have my blood drawn. After two disappointing visits, I decided not to return to this office. To make matters worse, I later received a bill for an additional $73. I spent over six months trying to get someone to explain why I owed more money after already paying my copay. I called weekly, left countless messages, and never received a return call. Because no one would respond, the balance was eventually sent to collections. I paid the balance just to deal with the collections issue, then disputed the charge with my bank because even they agreed the situation seemed unusual. Despite that, I am still being billed for the same charge. Once again, I spent months trying to get answers with no response. When I finally reached someone, I was essentially told that if I didn't pay, it would simply be sent to collections again. No one could actually explain why I owed the money. I no longer have the insurance I had at the time of my visit, and I was also told the doctor I originally saw doesn't even work there anymore. The lack of communication and patient care at this office is unacceptable. Ignoring patients for months while continuing to bill them and threaten collections is not how a medical practice should operate. If they put even half as much effort into helping their patients as they do collecting money, this situation could have been resolved long ago. I will never return and would not recommend this office to anyone looking for a practice that values communication, professionalism, or patient care.

When I called, I was met with an automated message, standard these days, but there were no options for new patients or to reach medical staff. I stayed on the line without pressing any keys, and a human did eventually answer. They were polite, soft-spoken, and informed me that the clinic operates on a membership model. Digging into the site later, I found that membership runs around $3,200 per year. What's not clearly explained is how this integrates with existing insurance. There's no detail on whether labs, prescriptions, or procedures are billed separately or offset at all. Nothing against the clinic itself, but after watching another practice in town fall apart post-buyout, I'm not eager to throw more money into the healthcare black hole, especially on top of already sky-high insurance premiums. Las Vegas isn't exactly budget-friendly, and this setup seems designed more for the west side crowd with disposable income than for the average patient just trying to get solid care without financial acrobatics.
