I used to think a "wellness center" was supposed to be a place for relaxation, health, and peace. What a joke. This place is basically a homeless shelter with a fancy sign out front. Every time I've gone there, there are multiple homeless individuals openly living on the property. They're camped out on the stairwells, sleeping in corners, and just hanging around like they own the place. I've seen them sprawled out with blankets, shopping carts, and all their belongings blocking walkways and entrances. It's not occasional -- it's constant. I reported it multiple times to staff and even called public safety, and guess what? **They do absolutely nothing.** Zero enforcement, zero concern. It's like the center has a policy of "come one, come all" for anyone who wants to treat the property like their personal campground. I pay good money expecting a clean, safe environment to focus on my wellness, not to step over people sleeping on the stairs or worry about my safety while trying to enter or exit the building. The whole vibe is sketchy and uncomfortable. I no longer feel safe here, and I definitely won't be returning. If you care about your personal safety or just want a clean space, avoid this wellness center at all costs. They clearly don't prioritize safety. read more

Operator Melissa is very rude. After being on hold for an extended period of time she answers. And once I am able to talk to interrupts me and places me on hold. I wait 30 seconds shocked on her customer service. I call right back and I hear Melissa again on the phone and before I hear her speak, I hear her talking to someone in the background. (This star rating is for security. The ER staff and the ICU staff have been great. We live very close and are in fear of medical emergency due to the way I have been treated by security here at UMC) Every er visit here is sketchy-- due to officious security. Today was no different-- until suddenly it was... but not because of security they were predictably inappropriate. The security guard was pretty awful to me. I have a physical disability that he completely ignored. He was hollering about me during the event and then when I went to grab my stuff-- which he didn't check-- and remember.. this is er and my husband was brought in by ambulance-- I said "what a jerk" he raised his voice "what did you say?" I repeated myself and gave more details and he came at me with "I can throw you out!" I told him he was brusque and officious, he glared so I said "look it up." Meanwhile an apparently intoxicated man had been harassing the person at the desk. Security had paid zero attention... he was dealing with the clear and present danger to his ego. It's 3:22 on Tuesday if that's a help in identifying this guy. I was prepared to be met roughly when I asked about David-- I was wrong. The woman at the desk was kind and --tragically-- aware of the treatment women are forced to endure. She told me "take a breath." She said "the world is not going to change for us" I wanted to tell her that we can make it change... but I was frozen by her kindness and did not want to be a problem for her. She helped me survive the ordeal on top of the ordeal-- remember David was just brought in with stroke symptoms. I'm torn as to how to review the hospital er... because this er has saved David's life twice ...I will give a 5 star review for care... It would be irresponsible to dissuade anyone from coming to a place where they will likely get good care but be harassed by misogynistic security guards. We are in back now... the ER team is attentive and I'm hoping for the best. Maria is wonderful. Eric, the safety officer manager? He is a danger to women simply by being entirely unsympathetic to treatment of women. Maybe he is the source of the culture here? If he is the person who sets the tone... that would explain a bit... "I can't help with that" exact quote before he demanded my ID He held it in his fingers then cupped it in his hands as if he was going to arrest me. He wanted me to feel his power over me. Patient experience came by and Erica and the man with her seemed nice... I tried to give a full report, not for my own well-being or future, but for the future treatment of others who might be subjected to the same people and conditions. At a certain level of detail testimony delivers diminishing returns. They were patient but I was (by this point) debilitated and rambling. My key point is that I should not be forced to defer to security in order to enter the er waiting room. I have been told this will be escalated. I hope that matters but I'm afraid that it will simply result in retaliation. read more

A. Veterans affair said they will cover it. The billing department is lazy. I just left to complaint, get people to do their job. I brought my granny to this hospital for trouble breathing and heavy chest pain the hospital admitted her and I mean the treatment from staff to doctors to the NURSES HORRIBLE THEY TREATED MY ELDERLY GRANNY HORRIBLY this our first time I'm a long time visiting this place when there are many better hospitals in the city but following my granny's request she chose UMC just LAST NIGHT they attempted to stick my granny with multiple needle for IV when my granny's informed the lady it won't be able to locate a a vein in her arm due to other reasons they didn't listen to her and still tried to stuck her in multi location leaving my granny's with a number of bruises on her arm I listed a photo below at 3AM due to the mistreatment of nurses over night my granny's requested her family to be contacted the nurse told my Granny no they won't be contacting anyone for her and continue to mistreat her. Try to force her to take pills that she threw in the trashcan and continue with the mistreatment for who knows how long throughout the night before they gave her a shot to put her to sleep due to her being angry at the treatment. She's been receiving at this facility if you have anybody that you love and care for in this hospital I highly encourage you to get them out. The staff here gets paid way too much for them to mistreat anyone. I will not stand for this and I will not be losing this location again and if I find means I will be pushing legal action against everyone involved with the mistreatment towards my family. UMC Trauma Center - Multiple failed attempts to find a vein when she tried to tell them before had she had had nerves in that arm and they wouldn't be able to - Hospitals Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

I was here not as a patient, but as a guest to check on a friend who was taken here as a patient. The streets surrounding the center are in the process of being fixed with traffic cones dotting the streets (not their fault). Despite that, I was able to find the parking lot and a space relatively easy. Check-in involved putting my things in a tray and walking through a metal detector (not a big deal but wasn't expecting it). Once that was done face masks were provided in a container on the table where I retrieved my belongings from the tray. I then proceeded a few feet to a check-in desk to ask about the person I was there to see. As a visitor, the staff I encountered were pleasant throughout the process. I had to wait in the lobby until the person I was there to see was processed and able to receive a visitor. They only allow one person at a time to go back to visit the patient. I was there as a visitor for approximately six hours. I was not the patient's ride home, so I left before the patient was released. There was a water fountain in the lobby. I did not see any vending machines (which would not be good if one needed food during their experience). There are public restrooms near the lobby waiting area. It's not an elegant place, but it seemed sufficient. Typical hospital lighting, layout, and equipment I expected to see when I went back to visit my friend. My experience as a visitor was acceptable. read more

The people here saved my baby's life after my wife delivered her breech. Debbie revived her, and Sue in the NICU spearheaded her care. The doctors' quick thinking prevented her from getting brain damage or any other serious complications. The department head was very nice and facilitated a photoshoot with the hospital's media coordinator. After wonderful initial treatment for a serious open wound at UMC Quick Care-Spring Mountain, Dr. Vu (who capably closed the wound with 16 stitches) set-up a series of appointments for me at UMC Burn and Wound Clinic. The treatment there was far beyond any I have ever received. For a few weeks I went to UMC's main hospital every other day (!) for advanced wound care and dressing change. The nurses and doctors there were great. The wound was slow in healing but the medical professionals were optimistic, kind and encouraging. I was even given an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. This is not the UMC of old. It is modern and efficient and we are so fortunate to have such a fine facility here in Las Vegas. - E. Williams LV, NV read more

So... they seem to taking great care of my mom, but when they asked me to exit out of the trauma area room so they could clean her up/ use bedpan, they said "just give us a few minutes". Well ... I asked security guard here if I could go back and he initially stated "45 mins. They have tests to do". I said no, she was just getting cleaned up/ using bedpan... "oh. You gotta give them 30 min". Not for fucking anything, but my mom is anxious, just had a very bad fall, is nearly totally deaf, and they have the fucking right to exclude me now?! My brother and I were extremely impressed from the moment we entered UMC's ER Sunday the 26th until Dad's discharge this past Sunday. Every single person we came into contact with was extremely professional, and seemed happy with their job. This ranged from the security guards to the admitting lady in ER to all of the ER staff. Freaking fantastic. My dad was on the third floor for a few days before going down to the second floor and both floors exceeded our expectations. Some of the nursing staff which come to mind on the 2nd floor: Rommel, Arnold, April, Chelsea 3rd floor: Judith, Sherrie, Armand. Literary everyone who walked into the room, whether it was Neuro, infectious disease, OT, or PT, everyone was incredibly professional, and again happy with their jobs. Housekeeping did an incredible job cleaning. I watched them and they were wiping down every single surface that a human could possibly come into contact with. and the food was really good too. I don't think I've ever gone to a hospital in the past where every single person you come into contact with is very happy with their jobs and their workplace. This was my take away aside from extreme professionalism. read more

UMC Trauma Center maternity labor and delivery department are lazy and unprofessional. My wife was told by another department below the maternity floor about the tour. She went there and kindly explained to the nurses at the maternity department about the tour. The nurse looked at each other and gave a negative vibe that the nurse didn't want to give a tour. They both responded they were busy to do and she would have to call 3 hours in advance. The nurses were busy on "social media" and refused to give a tour to my pregnant wife. This era of "social media" is demon on the world. These nurses need Jesus. read more

The job and wanted everyone to know, I woke up in isolation after having surgery she wanted me to get up from my bed to use the bathroom this monster was so rude , so human less idk how they allow ppl to work in this environment that clearly is not for them, I heard her tell another person the same thing she told me! Recently referred here when my needs were beyond what urgent care could address. I spent 13 hours here, spending all but about 3 of them in the waiting room- wait time is ridiculous. A friend previously worked here and said the wait times I experienced here are typical. I was not visibly injured or in pain, so was not necessarily a priority. Wait time aside, the actual staff I encountered here were professional and compassionate- specifically Francesca the ultrasound tech, my nurse Jaymi, and Dr. Nika Vizcarra. They were attentive to my needs, both physical and otherwise, and seemed genuinely concerned for my well being both during and after leaving their care. Staff here did as much as they could to help me. I was referred elsewhere for outpatient surgery, and even that experience went smoother than expected, due in large part to staff contacting my new facility directly and providing detailed documentation. Fingers crossed that billing goes as smoothly as the rest of my experience! read more

ASHLEY the charge nurse is beyond rude it's very sad and honestly heartbreaking. She screamed at me to get off facetime and i told her i was never on the phone to begin with and then proceeded to laugh and refuse my sister on coming to the back with me after i was in 4x rollover in my truck. I had to clean up my own scarps and cuts and was left in the hallways with no shoes, socks, or bandaids to stop my cuts from burning. When finally a janitor was walking by and offered me socks. My mom was brought here by ambulance and the care we received from Rowe, Nicky, Erika and Kim in IMC was outstanding. Can't thank them enough! It was a tough time for our family and they brought a level of compassion and excellence to caring for my mom which helped tremendously to calm down her fears. They went out of their way to make her feel cared for. We absolutely appreciate the medical doctors but it's the nurses that make such a difference in the lives of patients and their families. If you LOVE being abused by the staff while you lay in their filthy room suffering with a horribly broken neck then this is the place for you! They moved me a total of FIVE times to other filthy rooms with more abusive staff. They do NOT properly transfer patients with severe injuries!!! Discharged me WITH a badly broken neck and an IV still in my arm only to be reMoved in the hallway by the exit door. I am VERY thankful they NEVER treated OR addressed my injury AT ALL!!! I am thankful because I am convinced they would have paralyzed me had they done the necessary surgery to repair my THREE fractured vertebrae that were also sub located!! UMC Trauma Center - Job well done. Even though I lost some finger tips could of been worse but I feel I'm in good hands - Hospitals Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

Checked into the ED on Friday, Dec. 9th with leg cramps, chest pain and nausea. The waiting room was completely full with standing room only. I was called to the triage window. The triage nurse was extremely nice, professional and she had great customer service. She immediately apologized for the wait times and mentioned that if my symptoms worsen to please notify her. I was soon called back for an EKG, then sent back to the waiting room. Roughly 2 hours had passed...I was called to get an IV line started, lab work, urine and medicine. I was given Aspirin. I asked for nausea meds, was told that a note would be sent to the doctor. I returned to the waiting room. After an hour my symptoms were easing up a bit, and I felt well enough to go on my way. I informed the triage nurse, she convinced me to stay for my lab results. I stayed. During the endless 3-4 hour wait my symptoms slowly progressed into severe chest pain and all over body cramping. I let the triage nurse know of my worsening symptoms. She left her station to inform my care team. She returned saying someone will call you back. I had waited another hour. I was cramping and hurting extremely bad at this time. A nurse came out, gave me a pain pill and redraw a Tropinin and sent me back to the waiting room. I felt like I should've left and checked into another hospital's ED. But the triage nurse encouraged me to stay. Another hour or so while waiting all my muscles were cramped, I couldn't move much without extreme pain. Another hour or so had passed, I was called back to be discharged. ??? I needed wheelchair assistance. Dr. Glen Guillermo said my labs looked well enough to send me home. He said he would order something to relieve my symptoms. Another hour or so wait. A nurse came to give me a pill and to discharge me. I couldn't move, I needed wheelchair assistance. I asked to speak to Dr. Guillermo before leaving. I felt like he had done everything to ignore speaking to me. He rushed pass the nurse and I, the nurse had to chase him. Dr. Guillermo finally came to me. Without professionalism he stated "go home and sleep it off." The nurse blurted "what!?" in shock. The Dr. left. I asked the nurse if it were possible to repeat the labs. She said unfortunately the Dr. probably won't. I asked to speak to another Dr. However at this point I did all I could to walk out. I had went to another Hospital's ED. After waiting 5 mins I was triage, labs were drawn. My potassium level was 3.0. My creatine was 2.7. BUN 19. Positive Troponin levels. I was given immediate attention. IV potassium and fluids corrected my labs, stopped the extremely painful cramping. No need for pain medication. Repeat Troponin was negative. Now I'll have 2 emergency room visit bills. I want to thank Dr. Guillermo for showing me, and possibly other how much of an unprofessional, lazy, under skilled physician he is. Not giving someone a follow-up on their worsening symptoms that progressed over several hours of waiting for care. I'll report him to UMC and his credentialing boards. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. Try to avoid this hospital. My family member is there and the Head Nurse In Charge (HNIC) lied about an incident and then called security. Paul Blart the Security guard was rude and on a power trip. Long story short Paul Blart threatened to arrest me, my brother, and sister in law if we didn't leave. All because we wanted our questions answered and I was upset the nurse lied. If this hospital is your only option good luck. Furthermore, my buddy whose dad was there had issues and told me they were negligent and he felt like they were going to kill his dad. Do yourself a favor and try to avoid this place!! Mom tried to explained my dad situation prior hospitalization ( dad was on his way to pay bill and had accident ) This nurse told my mom that she should start paying the bill " start paying the bills baby" My mom told her she's 79 yrs old and never drove and this nurse told her " take Uber"! Terrible care at this hospital, Ive never seen more unprofessional behavior by nurses and staff in my life. If you want to have an experience where you are dehumanized and treated worse than a farm animal this is the hospital for you. I am stuck because my Dr is on staff here but if you have a choice do not come here you will be treated horribly and regret it. After the response below I feel the need to add this. The patient advocate team is a complete and utter farce, what it really is is a risk assessment to determine if they can get sued team. My wife contacted the CEOs office and they called her took her complaint then did nothing at all to tell us what was done about it. They do not care about feedback and do nothing to answer it when given. If you have a problem with staff here my recommendation is to file a complaint directly with the Nursing Board or The Medical Board and file it directly against the person who treated you poorly, that is what I did with the nurse who mistreated me horribly there. read more

My wife came here ( not by choice it was the only place the Ambulance would go) after a car accident. I am a retired RN, LVN, paramedic, and Air Force Medic so I understand what a "standard of care" is and what a trauma center is so I have absolutely no problem with the care she received or the fact a couple of nurses copped a serious attitude as I've been known to have had a couple of bad days throughout my 36 years of Healthcare. The huge complaint I have is the extremely bad attitude of one person who may have been a nurse or someone from billing. She came into the waiting room and basically told me that I was not to speak unless I gave her my tricare #. I was trying to explain we had other Healthcare which had to be billed first. She didn't even let me speak. Very rude and basically handled the whole situation wrong. I now tried to fix this because of this witch. They put a lien on the lawsuit because it's easier. The place you never want to come but glad it's there. The hospital has been renovating so it is a lot better. It now has a great food court and it's more open and clean. There is parking in the front but more in the back by the emergency area. There is a quick care area but it is always full. The wait time are still a bit on the long two to four hours for emergency area. But if like me you are visiting friends it is pleasant and quick to just stop by and say hi! read more
