Chicken tikka: 4/5 -- tasty and flavorful, just needed a few more pieces to feel like a full portion. Paneer & goat biryani: 3/5 -- decent, but both could've used more spice and boldness. I have been to the other Mousam Spice House Food Trailer when it was located in the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station near I-35 and 38th street. The food was pretty good, the service was nice and friendly. That was close to a 5-star experience, but since then that trailer has moved to (I believe) Guadalupe St. area. I recently discovered this location down near S. Lamar / Brodie area. It's also in the parking lot of a gas station. I ordered the Butter Chicken, and that is the only dish I decided to order because I noticed the prices have increased to $13 per dish. That was a letdown but I am hoping the quality and quantity remained constant. Quality yes, quantity no. The food came out piping hot, the service was nice, and Butter Chicken was good. Nothing outstanding or outta this world, but good. One noticeable observation (and another major letdown) was the significant reduction in portion sizing. And I am talking about 25%. So they raised prices and also reduced the container size as the the previous containers were round and deeper, these new containers are rectangle, smaller, shallow in depth, and about the size of my I-Phone 14 Plus. And that's a pretty small portion for $13. In the past I could not eat everything and had plenty of leftovers, while this time around I could nearly finish the entire dish. So as a result this potential 4-star review is downgraded to a 2-star (Could of Been Better) because it used to be better and it's a lot less now. I get if you want to raise the price, but they hit customers with a double whammy by also significantly reducing portions at the same time which ends up being a double negative for customers and a double benefit for the business. I can pay $13+ for the same Butter Chicken at a dine-in restaurant - and they have larger portions so you get more for your money. If you do a hypothetical cost break down my dish, it had several slices of chicken, gravy, spices, 2oz of cream and 2+ cups of rice. That likely costs them under $3-4 to make, so in the end they are making plenty of profit. So as a result the food here doesn't have enough wow-factor and isn't good enough to justify the higher price with the smaller portions. It's not enough to keep me coming back. Had they kept the same portions I would continue to come back but not anymore. read more

True to its name, the food is spicy and flavorful, so much so that even the least spicy option was a bit hot. The veg combo order is a good value, it includes chow mein, fried rice and momos. The fried veg momos were delicious but everything else could do with a little less black pepper and jalapenos. Mango lassi was more sour, less sweet. read more

Came here for lunch on an afternoon with my mom. The two folks working there were very kind and helpful, they took my order promptly and I only had to wait maybe 10 mins or so which isn't bad at all! The food was served up VERY hot, it was actually difficult to eat my chicken tikka masala because it was 1. Very well spiced (ie delicious!), 2. Very hot, temperature was, and 3. Hot as heyalllll outside because it was August in Austin. Nevertheless, the food was so tasty I ate about half before I was sweating too much. I cooled off eating my rasmalai dessert though which was juuuust perfect! My mom had the fettuccini pasta since she couldn't do heavily spiced food at the time and she also really liked it but was sweating from heat. I really appreciated their prompt and tasty food though, and appreciate the little tables you can eat at if you choose to. The chicken tikka was $12 and came with basmati rice, and the pasta was $9. Overall I think it was really good value for price, and the workers even gave me a water bottle for free since they saw me sitting there sweating I will absolutely come back to try other things later since I do love and periodically crave Indian food, plus this will be my new rasmalai spot! ($2.50 for two pieces). Great place - give it a try if looking for Indian food in the area! Saw them pull out the naan from the freezer and heated up on a burner. 90 percent it's from Trader Joe's( I have the same in my freezer and they look and taste identical). Best North Indian/Nepali food in town. Dhaba style saag. Goat curry (off menu) redolent of cardamom with the kind of thin sauce you get at someone's home. Chow mein with a masala so good you can't stop eating, even when it hurts. Excellent, succulent momos, both chicken and veg. This food truck is located in the shell station's lot right by the self serve car wash however you can easily order from the delivery apps as well which was the route I opted for. I got the butter chicken which was creamy and buttery; it's so hard to find a creamy curry these days. I wanted more spicy though - so next time will try some of the other curries. I also ordered samosa which came with a tamarind dipping sauce. I also got naan which was ok but not as good as other places. The Mango lassi had enough tartness from the yogurt so it wasn't too. This officially took title for best momos in town. Sandesh who is cook and the owner of the place knows his ways around the spices alley to get you the best taste you can get. We trekked several dishes as you can see in the pictures and all of them reminded us of street side food in India that we miss the most. Guess what this place is on the side of the street next to a gas station too. So you get the taste and the vibe as well. You'll find enough parking, you can sit in your car and eat or take one of the two picnic tables right outside. Owner is very very friendly and understand the need. read more

New food truck in the Shell Fuel parking lot. We had the Tikka Masala with chicken and added paneer. It was really good; flavorful with a good amount of spice. It wasn't very tomato-y though. We also had garlic naan and the vegetable egg rolls. The sauce with the egg rolls was really good. I felt like the naan needed salt in the dough, but it was still good. Everything was hot and fresh. Began eating and immediately realized that there was some kind of nut in either the sauce or food. I ordered chicken biryani, veg pakoras and gulab jamun. Surprisingly, all three of the items were 0/10. Chicken biryani had no taste at all and the color was so red. It looked that they just boiled the rice and added color with spiced chicken only. Pakoras were not fully cooked and gulab jamun was so hard and wasn't even sweet. The butter chicken is extremely creamy and very North Indian - a little sweet and vert flavourful - which is not easy to find in Austin.
