I came here with a fellow Yelp Elite and friend after a workout and it surely satisfied our post-workout hunger. We had the onion kulcha as starter and it was freshly made and delicious. We both ordered the lamb tikka masala and it was rich and savory, we ordered some garlic naan to have some of the sauce with...outstanding! When I worked in high-tech, I managed the Asian Design Centers in Taiwan, Singapore, China and India and visited these countries twice a quarter. When I walked into Tandoori Lounge, I was immediately transported back to my time in India. The atmosphere is sultry and seductive. You are drawn in my the dimly lit restaurant with warm soothing colors. You hear this soft intoxicating music as you take in these tiny table lamps. We were all in! I met a Yelp friend for dinner that I had not seen for quite some time. It was great catching up! As you walked in, you could smell a hint of the aroma of spices coming from the kitchen. Is it possible that everything you eat or drink is exceptional? Can service be at the highest possible level? Yes and Yes! We ordered the onion kulcha and garlic naan as appetizers. They were fresh, hot, soft and super flavorful. You could taste the onions in the kulcha and the garlic was pronounced in the garlic naan. We both ordered the lamb/goat marsala (medium for me and mild for my friend). The entrée was an explosion of flavors in your mouth...so good! The entrée was rich and enjoyable to eat without being heavy. It came with basmati rice where the kernels did not stick to each other. The rice was airy and fluffy. My friend ordered an Indian beer. When in India, Indian beer is a staple. I ordered a lemon drop martini. This was the best martini I have had in a very long time. Shamu, the bartender, came over to our table to explain what other martinis he could make that were not on the menu. The Lemon Drop martini was ice cold (loved that), smooth and perfectly blended. Shamu said that the glass was first chilled before the martini was poured. Drinking narvana... Riya, our server, was so sweet and kind. She was meticulous in serving our table - water constantly refilled, lemons delivered and food strategically placed on the table. Riya suggested our entrée as the most popular dish. I especially appreciate the timings, being open until 3 AM is perfect for a late night craving. My first time at the Tandoori Lounge + bar and I would absolutely return! The food here was delicious! They have four spice levels you can choose from. I went with spice level 2 for all of my dishes. I ordered the lamb biryani (my fav!) lamb vindaloo and garlic butter naan and for drinks I went with the classic chai and my friend ordered a mango lassi! The lamb was tender and nicely spiced! The space is beautiful and I can tell from the photos that they've done some sort of renovation to upscale the bar and dining area. It looks very modern and sleek with mostly black decor. The dishes although well made came in very small portions! I was shocked to see the size of the dishes and the prices do not match. Lamb biryani was $17.99 and lamb vindaloo was $17.99 and the garlic naan was $4.99 Service was extremely slow. It took 45 minutes to receive the naan, and lamb dishes. There were just two servers and the restaurant was partially full. I hope they improve service times. There's plenty of parking as it's in a shopping center! read more

Had a few things to pick up on this side of town yesterday and we were looking for a new experience. Found this place tucked back behind my old dentist and a Birds Barbershop. We walked in about 1:00 and it was fairly empty save for a few customers. The waiter was prompt and nice. We ordered a few things-- Chicken 65 (amazingly tender and delicious), the Navratan Korma (veggie curry) at a medium heat, which was just right for me... had a kick but didn't hurt, Raita (yogurt-based sauce) and some garlic naan (4 pieces and delicious). The food itself was stellar. The price was good... was about $42 for lunch (a little more than I'd like to spend on lunch typically, but we wanted to sample more than one dish). The dishes are also made to sample, and the portion could have fed two more people. This is a great option for lunch or dinner with friends or family when you want to try something outside the Tex-Mex / Austin diner scene. read more

Amy was shy but attentive, steering me towards the Lamb Sagwala - a mild curry (green from spinach, tempering the spice and bringing a variety of other herbal flavors forward). However, upon arrival at 12:30 am on a weekend, we were told only takeout was available due to maintenance-quite unusual timing for such work. Despite this, we opted for takeout and enjoyed the food at home. The chicken korma was well-balanced in spices with tender chicken, and the garlic naan was excellent. Stopped by for a Sunday dinner as we hadn't checked this local Indian out yet - we were very pleasantly surprised! Lot of delicious Indian dishes to choose from we shared the 65 paneer appetizer and the lamb Rogan josh curry with garlic naan. Portion size was huge - we split the appetizer (it was really good and spicy) and main and still had a lunch portion to bring home. It certainly is a lot of food for the order but for two people splitting an appetizer, one main, and a garlic naan it feels a bit pricey but still worth it. Finally! A really good brick-and-mortar Indian restaurant close to Oak Hill. I ordered the goat bone-in tikka masala medium spicy. With the first bite, I was transported back to the curry houses in Cambridge England, it was absolutely divine! And it was balanced perfectly by the cucumber raita sauce, which I ordered separately. They have a full bar, so I am looking forward to trying out some of the mixed drinks on the next visit. Service is excellent,- polite and professional. The decor is casual , not too bright and I found had an incredibly calming effect, I really did not want to leave I felt in a really good place. A delicious spot! It's not a fancy spot and more of a casual restaurant to bring family and friends. Don't be afraid if you don't see a lot of food in the buffet and it needs a refill. The food here was honestly pretty good! I really enjoyed it and think that it's a great late night bite with good pricing. I had a half tandoori chicken with a hot spice level which was great, and a strawberry lassi which is now definitely a favorite drink. The ambiance was fair, they had some house music going which I thought was an interesting choice. The service was so so, the manager was accommodating but the server was death staring us and looked like she was about ready to kick us out after an hour. She brought the check while we were eating and having good conversation which I thought was a little rude. 18% gratuity is also included which I think is fair, we are a table of good tippers so we of course added an extra 3% to make it 20! AMBIANCE/SERVICE: - You know an Indian restaurant is authentic when most of its patrons are also South Asian! - For what they lack in service, they make up in flavor (but this is pretty common in desi restaurants lol). After moving in the neighborhood, I was delighted to have discovered a desi restaurant that serves dosa. The dosa was honestly quite delicious. However it had black specks all over the dosa. It was the teflon debris, quite toxic especially for me, being 7 months pregnant. They were nice enough to remake it but it had the same problem and had teflon particles. Nut allergy warning - some dishes do have nuts (all of the desserts especially), but they are especially careful with things. They were also very considerate with my friend's gluten-free needs. We arrived on a Sunday night around 7PM and there were tables available. Saw a good amount of people doing take out as we were there. Food came out pretty quickly - about 15 minutes for appetizers and 20-25 minutes for entrees. For four people, we ordered: -Chili Chicken -Chicken Tiki Marsala -Lamb Biryani -Gobi Manchurian -2x Veg Samosa (2 pieces each) (Came with yogurt, mint, and tamarind sauces!) -2x Garlic Naan (4 pieces each) This was plenty of food and we had leftovers. I'd review each of the dishes, but I don't eat Indian enough for a frame of reference. Everything was well spiced and very sharable. I'd suggesting order an extra ordering of rice to go with the appetizers and Chicken Tiki Marsala, but the garlic naan was a great side and very flavorful and was great to dip in the sauce.
