I saw Dr. Oliver 4 years ago for running related injuries. I literally walked in limping and walked out normal. He listened, adjusted and taught me exercises and good habits. After a number of sessions, he dismissed me and told me to continue with exercises and call if I'm in pain again. Unfortunately I fell and broke my ankle last year, after 3 months of scooter, crutches and cane. I was limping with a weak right ankle and a painful left hip and sore lower back. PT was only working on my bad foot. My body was totally out of balance. I returned to Dr. Oliver, After 2 sessions, I was feeling pain free again. He not only taught me exercises for my weak ankle, but overall exercises to strengthen the core and lower half of body. I found out about Move Well Chiropractic through an Eversave coupon for a massage and a consultation. I've been seeing chiropractors on and off for about 10 years; I wholeheartedly believe in chiropractic and the benefits it can bring to your health. I stopped seeing my last chiropractor because she didn't take the time to listen to what was bothering me and what needed to be fixed. Not the case here. During my consultation, Dr. Oliver asked me what my experience with chiropractic was, what I liked and disliked about previous doctors, and what type of chiropractic I was used to. Turns out he was similar to the doctor I had in Atlanta that I absolutely loved, which made me excited and eager to work with him. Every time I went in, he took the time to ask what had been going on during the week, how I was feeling, etc. He also gave me multiple stretches and exercises to do at home to strengthen my core and my spine so that I would need treatment less and less. I've been seeing him since May, 2 or 3 times a week at that point, and am now seeing him once every two weeks - quick progress! Dr. Oliver is a really kind, great, knowledgeable doctor who is genuinely concerned for his patients' well being. I was a little unsure when I went to use an Eversave voucher my co-worker gave me. The value seemed incredible: a one hour massage, one chiropractic evaluation and up to $150 worth of follow-up visits. Then I saw he had no Yelp reviews.... I ventured to Newton Centre after work one day. (I was careful to read the detailed directions on his website before.) However, the intersection still proved confusing. As with most of this area of the country now that I KNOW where I'm going. It's a breeze. However, that initial journey had me worried I'd miss my appointment and I was more than tempted to just hop back in the car and go home after a long day. (Give yourself plenty of time to find the place if you are unfamiliar with the area!) Ok once I found the office on the 2nd floor of the Piccadilly Square building, I walked into a very quiet office. Either Dr. Oliver has a part time receptionist or he does his own desk work. Both times I have been he has been the only one working there. Dr. Oliver made me feel instantly at ease. He listened to my medical history and explained the process of the exam step by step. (This was not my first chiropractic consultation, but even if it had been, I would have been well informed.) One thing I really liked was that he told me he would be honest about whether chiropractic care would be appropriate for my specific body concerns/ pains. I felt like I was back in science class he even gave me a couple hand outs to explain some of my areas of tension and ways to massage them at home. Then he got to work. He popped, cracked and applied pressure to my body and afterwards I felt a little sore, but mostly taller and much more comfortable in my own skin! My second visit was a lot shorter. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. I slept great after my adjustment! I would give Newton Wellness Center 5 stars if not for the fact that the massage hours are a little inconvenient for someone working 9-5. The massages are done by someone who works there part time? Maybe? Dr. Oliver, however, stays late M, W, Th... until 7pm. * I had a wonderful chiropractor in Dallas who still treats my whole family! David is the chiropractor I recommend very highly. I have had problems with my back and shoulders for a number of years. Over that time, as I moved around the country, I had probably a dozen different chiropractors work on me. David was different from them all. He taught me how to stretch in a way that allowed me to feel better on a sustainable basis, without having to always go to the doctor. It's been over 6 months since I last went to David's practice and I feel great.I am more flexible than I have been in years and continue to see improvement with every week of exercise. If I forget to stretch, I can feel sore, but once I am doing the routine that he developed for me, I am better again within a week. It's awesome to know that I am in control of my back health. I came to Dr. Oliver with upper back and shoulder pain as well as headaches. I'd never been to a chiropractor before and had quite a few questions. The first meeting was a very comprehensive consultation and assessment, and he took the time to answer all of these questions. I felt much more at ease. His philosophy is more about having the patient learn to maintain their own body through exercises, then having them consistently come back to him each week. I saw him about 3 times a week for 2-3 weeks consistently, each session learning and perfecting new exercises as well as getting minor adjustments and stretches, and after those 3 weeks I had another assessment to see how my body had changed. At this point I do the exercises and heed the suggestions he's given me, and only see him on occasion. As far as bedside manner, he is caring, gentle and personable. For someone who is struggling with any kind of pain and is looking for something different to try and get some relief, I would highly recommend him as a practitioner. Plus: takes insurance (at least Blue Cross). Minus: Parking is terrible, but if you are lucky there are a few spots around his building. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars. read more

Dr. Oliver has been a savior. I looked for a chiropractor after a couple useless (and HIGHLY expensive) PT sessions didn't really help my back pain. The first chiropractor I went to told me that chiropractic work can cure cancer, and didn't really offer me much relief as most of the time was spent convincing me to come as regularly as possible. I was referred to Dr. Oliver by a friend who had great experiences with him. Dr. Oliver has a very normal practice, none of the hokey magic that some chiropractors tout. For me he focused on identifying the cause of my pain and teaching me how to heal it it rather than only manipulating me and insisting I come in a couple times a week. He also heavily emphasizes "homework", various exercises and stretches I need to do on my own time to increase mobility and build strength to help my pain. After a couple sessions I was in the least pain I had been in a year, and go back if something ever bothers me again. I cannot recommend him enough! I started coming to Newton Wellness Center last spring because of the occasional back and neck pain that I was experiencing from my job (I stand all day at work). Dr. Cintron made me realize that what I considered to be my okay baseline health could be dramatically improved with weekly adjustments. I now feel much better, overall, and understand that I don't have to deal with weekly pain, anymore. Dr. Oliver now does my weekly alignments and have kept my back and neck feeling much better than it did a year ago. Additionally, I think that the "Wellness Center" part of their title is justly deserved. Dr. Oliver has given me helpful information and advice on my nutrition. I also feel that he is actually more useful on providing general advice for injuries relating to my running than either my PCP or my orthopedist! Not your typical chiropractor! I've been going to Dr. Oliver for about 8 months now after I was referred to him by a personal trainer. I've been going to chiropractors for years and Dr Oliver is by far the best. He does a thorough analysis before beginning treatment and gives you "homework" to do between sessions. That way you can be part of the process of getting better and so you don't have to go in as often. He'll even check in to make sure you've been doing the exercises correctly. Dr. Oliver has given me a new lease on life. I suffered a back injury over two years ago during a difficult labor and childbirth, and since then I have been on an endless search to understand and improve my pain. I did everything I could think of: countless doctor visits, MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, multiple chiropractors and physical therapists, surgery, cortisone shots. Each of those helped for a limited time, but then the pain would come back even worse. I luckily found Dr Oliver, and his approach is so different than everyone else I have seen. He really understands how the whole body works together and is able to target the therapy based on that. It's a big difference from everyone else who was focused on one thing (only the spine, only medication, etc). I went from regularly spending days either on the floor or the couch, unable to move, to now back at the gym and confident that I can improve my condition. I have hope, which I was beginning to think wouldn't be possible again. Its hard to find a really great chiropractor. Dr. Oliver is a REALLY great chiropractor. I have been a lifetime fan of chiropractic care but my husband deemed it quackery. When he got a terrible pain in his neck and couldn't turn his head I recommended he see Dr. O. He complained that "it won't work" and "he'll want me to come multiple times a week forever" and (although he wouldn't admit it publicly) was afraid that it would hurt. He was afraid of the "cracking". After a few more days of suffering with his pain and failed attempts to fix the problem other ways, he finally agreed to give it a try. He came home after his first appointment and admitted to feeling some relief. Although still skeptical, he followed Dr. O's plan to come a couple more times over the course of that week and the next. By the 4th appointment he was totally pain free and the pain never returned. He proclaimed on Facebook "I am now a believer in the 'dark arts' of chiropractic. Dr. O has never pressured him to return. If you are someone who is afraid to try chiropractic because 1) it will hurt - Dr. O is your guy. 2) You are worried it is a scam and you will have to come forever - Dr. O is your guy. 3) You have tried other chiropractors and have felt like your appointments were too rushed and did not get much benefit - Dr. O is your guy. Dr Oliver is amazing and I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a chiropractor in the Newton area. Not only is he very good at adjusting my back and giving me advice about stretches to do to help heal, but he's one of those doctors who really knows how to communicate with patients. He takes the time to really understand the problem, make a thorough assessment, and walks you through what he recommends doing in the adjustment before he does it (so there's no surprises or fearing that you have no idea what way he's going to twist or push you, like I've had with other chiropractors). When I recently had an injury, he not only provided the best care and cure for my low back pain, he also gave me advice about how best to deal with making a claim for my insurance which was invaluable. I've seen quite a few chiropractors in the last decade due to moving from city to city, and Dr. Oliver was so good that I kept seeing him after he moved from his Boston offices to his Newton offices. I have been seeing Dr. Oliver for about 1/2 a year now and he has helped me fix two major issues I was having. I decided to see Dr. Oliver after my GF suggest to see him for my lower back pain. Some of the things I enjoyed most about David is that he listens to your story, your symptoms and you can tell he cares about your opinion. I personally have not been a huge fan of doctors/therapist due to the poor experiences I have had with them. In my past I had a back injury that my physical therapist ran through normal exercises and when I was out of appointments I was out of luck. That PT didn't fix my back and I didn't heal my back pain from that injury till I read a book about how to heal it myself with simple stretching. So it was very nice meeting someone who broke the mold of doctors who didn't give you personalized attention or a care plan. He will give you great exercises to go home with and instructions how to do them correctly. Anytime I had an issue or needed a question answer he responded very quickly to my emails. I am proud to say I am fixed from the knowledge and care he showed me. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to get a body injury/issue fixed with someone who has pride in his work.
