Each session is a collaboration between therapist & client. Dr. Scortea invites questions, issues and/or concerns from the client. The effort & work that the client & therapist put in at the sessions as well as follow up home maintenance are richly rewarded with the physical results achieved! If I need to see a different therapist because of schedule conflicts, there are extensive notes in my file so each therapist knows my progress. I have worked with Dr Marina Mon and Steve Mack. I recommend both of them highly. Anytime I need PT in the future, this will be my go-to office.

I…read morehave mild, hypertonic cerebral palsy and up until 2022, had not received PT for over a decade. But when I was diagnosed with vestibular-ocular dysfunction, my neurologist prescribed PT as part of the treatment plan. I was pretty nervous to start PT again. I had kind of "cloudy" memories of PT as a kid--people who focused only on what was "wrong" with my body, did not want to relate to me as a person, and used negative reinforcement (do this or you will lose the ability to walk/end up in chronic pain/have to have scary medical procedures). I was afraid the staff at Pro would see me as a "patient" who was just a lot of trouble, a whiner, a disabled person who was "less." I am so pleased to say, I was proven wrong from day one! Everyone at Pro, from the therapists to the office staff, is wonderful. I was treated as a partner in care, an intelligent participant, and someone everyone looked forward to talking with and being around. My questions were always answered thoroughly and my input was valued. I built unique rapport with everyone and learned useful, easy techniques I can do independently at home and keep up with. Additionally, I'm pleased and surprised at how much physical therapy has changed since the '90s. That is, I kind of absorbed a "no pain, no gain" philosophy, so I needed to relearn some things. Namely, just because I was not in pain, didn't mean I wasn't reaping some sort of benefit. Actually, I have always been encouraged to go at my own pace, give myself a lot of grace, and not expect perfection. Not that I'm very good at those last two, you understand, but well, it's a work in progress. I want to give a particular shout-out to Jenny Alderson, Tyler Arring, and Ashley Gibbs as the therapists I worked with the most. They all have wonderful personalities and bring something unique to the table, whether that's humor, empathy, an amazing knowledge of neurology, and often a combination of those and more. Also, a shout-out to Jill and Annie for their patience and gifts with juggling all those schedules! If I didn't mention or work with you, please know I did not mean to leave you out. You were all a huge help and I appreciate that you are just a phone call away. I won't necessarily miss the therapy itself, as it is difficult, but I did love working with everyone. I came in at 10 for Physical Therapy. It ends at 11. And usually I'm seen by Chiropractor within 10 to 15 minutes. At 11:20 I went to the front desk and one of the ladies made a face concerned that I haven't been seen yet. She said she will look into it. At 11:30 I walked up to the front desk and said I'm leaving. This is the second time it happened. If it was the first time I would've written it off. I did not write a review after the first time the physical therapist was not told I was there for a treatment. One of the staff went into James's office and said I was waiting to see him. Yes they gave me a last-minute appointment that morning. I don't know if his schedule was updated or what happened, but he had no idea that I was there and had an appointment with him that morning. This isn't a large office. Luckily the first time, one of the staff noticed me sitting there and alerted James. He said he would look into this and it wouldn't happen again. Well today, I waited 30 minutes. I watched people who came in after me get treated by the chiropractors. At 11:30 when I left someone at the front desk was said: 'she's next.' I should have been next at 11:15 or even 11:20.... and again, I'm gonna say this it is a small office. The front desk could've seen me sitting there. The front desk could've seen that my paperwork hadn't moved forward. The Chiropractor's could easily see me. There are three chiropractors on site. I really don't understand why I was ignored for 30 minutes. So if you have an appointment and you feel like you're waiting too long and you see other people who came in after you being treated before you, you've been forgotten just like I have been. Twice.

By ignoring the reports from PT the opportunity for a manipulation was lost. Went and saw surgeon at Wake Forest today to learn there is no hope of improvement. Prior to surgery I was on 1 medication since surgery l am on muscle relaxers and pain meds for constant pain and spasms, 2 antidepressants, medication for sleep and medication for an ulcer due to all the NSAIDS and other meds. Worst decision of my life. Crippled at 54!

I'd forgotten my iPhone at home so she told me to go home and call my insurance company and I could cancel for that day - no problem. The next month they charged me $50 for leaving and not paying the $100. For 4 months I called their billing dept. and never received a call back. The intake people, Brenda and Phoebe, were very nice and listened to my story but said they had no authority to cancel the payment. Then I'm told the owner, Seth, heard my explanation and said I owed him $50. He would not talk with me neither would Stephanie, head of billing. I also learned they charge $165 or so for an evaluation and it's out of pocket with no insurance accepted. Strange policies at this place.
