I reached out to Compass a few months ago after getting a referral from my doctor to help with some back pain issues. When I reached out to them, I let them know that a previous PT office I was referred to had initially told me Aetna would cover everything and I'd just be responsible for a $50 copay. The other physical therapist office let me know prior to my first appointment however that after running my insurance, my cost per appointment would be significantly higher and suggested I cancel and find somewhere Aetna would cover. Soon after, I reached out to Compass, let them know about this entire situation over email, and got confirmation that my copay would only be $50. I scheduled my first appointment and three subsequent ones - paying $50 each time. A couple of weeks later I get a call from the staff who runs insurance/billing letting me know there was some miscommunication or mistake and Aetna would not in fact be covering my previous appointments and the amount owed would be substantially higher. I told them I'd like to cancel all future appointments then, given that it was way more expensive. I then got a call from the therapist I worked with (Eric, who was great) asking why I had missed my last appointment. I guess the billing staff I talked to didn't actually delete my appointments in their calendar. He said he'd look into it and see what's going on. A few weeks later, I get a surprise bill in the mail for $490 for the 4 appointments I had. A call with Compass confirmed that yes, I do owe them the full amount. I was told it would be $50 per appointment when I scheduled the appointments (and was encouraged to schedule in advance to make sure I got a spot in their schedule) then was slapped with a bill of roughly $172.50 per appointment. I guess I could only recommend this place if you're 100% sure your insurance will cover it, but even then you better get it in writing or they'll probably try and screw you over like they did to me. In a situation like this, I'd expect the practice to waive the cost as it was their fault in not doing their due diligence or communicating the cost at the time of the appointments being scheduled.

I'd forgotten my iPhone at home so she told me to go home and call my insurance company and I could cancel for that day - no problem. The next month they charged me $50 for leaving and not paying the $100. For 4 months I called their billing dept. and never received a call back. The intake people, Brenda and Phoebe, were very nice and listened to my story but said they had no authority to cancel the payment. Then I'm told the owner, Seth, heard my explanation and said I owed him $50. He would not talk with me neither would Stephanie, head of billing. I also learned they charge $165 or so for an evaluation and it's out of pocket with no insurance accepted. Strange policies at this place.

The physical therapists are all very knowledgeable and friendly. While I have mostly worked with Jason, you get the unique opportunity to work with different therapists and get a really well rounded treatment plan- seeing as some techniques work better than others for different people. Jason is very patient and explains everything so I understand why we are doing each exercise. He makes sure the exercises are challenging enough for each stage of my recovery. All the therapists communicate with each other really well. The whole team has such a great mix of professionalism and sense of humor. I was wheeled into a fairly busy waiting room and was greeted with a pleasant smile. Cherie brought me back 45 minutes later, which I didn't feel was too long due to the number of people already waiting before me. The attending physician Ryan was able to consult my x-rays from Mission and explained to me where the fracture occurred, and how long I would need to remain in the hard boot. I scheduled my follow up appointment two weeks later with him. Considering the circumstances and the holidays, I felt this walk-in clinic did its job very well.
