Now they want to hold our furniture hostage, wanting the balance up front and charging us 2 months' rent when they only had the container for a few days. We were originally told that the balance would be due when they dropped off the container at our new home, not being stored at any facility. Upsetting my husband, who is a retired veteran declared 100% disabled, who had lost his brother yesterday, not needing the additional emotional trauma. This has been a traumatic, horrible, and costly experience, and we will never recommend Pack-rat to anyone.

PackRat failed to deliver our unit on the day promised and didn't even inform us the delivery would not be completed as promised, even though the online dashboard reflected the promised delivery date. This happened two more times. When the unit was finally delivered, we were promised a call at least 30 minutes before and this was not done. We could not move into our small condo without our belongings, so had to make other living arrangements during the delays. Just for moving the unit (not including the cost of initial delivery and local storage), we paid around $1000 for the 8' unit to be moved. I contacted the company to request compensation and they agreed to reduce the cost of the move by $150. I don't think the price reduction was worth the stress of the experience.

I ordered one truck and two movers for our two bedroom, one bath duplex. My fiance and I did a lot of moving before they even arrived, essentially just leaving the furniture for them and some boxes. Their attitude seemed Brusque but it was probably because they were just tired from however many moves they had that day. They wrapped most of my furniture carefully with blankets, but I must say I was not pleased with the way that they moved my grandfather clock. The second mover, Alex, said "well this is fragile" when looking at my clock. I was like yes that's why I hired Movers. They didn't even know you had to take the pendulum out of the clock when moving it. They refused to take my very small TV off of the wall, and told me they would have to charge extra for that which I have never heard before. That was frustrating. They made a dent in my baseboard and scratched a lot of paint in my newly painted residence, and then gave me attitude when I asked when they were going to fix it. He then begrudgingly said that he would send somebody over Saturday to fix it. That guy was nice and did an okay job. They worked very hard but I think it would have gone faster with three movers. It would have been nice to have a discount since they were over 3 hours late also. I'm not sure if I would use them again, but I'm glad that we are finally in our new place with the damage fixed (aside from the clock).

I had to move my widowed elderly mom from south Florida to upstate NY close to where I live. It was very stressful for me because I work a lot of hours in my NYC job and barely had time to break away to move her up to NY. I took 3 trips back to back and packed up all her belongings, which was about 26 big boxes (no furniture since she was renting a furnished apt.). I was gonna UPS or FED EX but the costs were too expensive. Me renting a U-HAUL and driving myself was not an option because of me not being able to miss work anymore after already using 3 weeks to go down to S. Florida. I was thinking to just donate everything but that would break my moms heart. Somebody recommended Marquis (Moving Gods). To avoid additional monthly charges on my storage units, I searched for someone to quickly bail me out of my situation. I hired Moving Gods to do a huge move from New York to Florida. These men surpassed any expectations I could've ever had. The communication about what I desired for my belongings was amazing. Every mover I had come into contact with was very helpful and hands on. I could not have done my move without Moving Gods!! They did a great job at moving all our belongings (including a sectional couch ) up two flights of stairs. They were super professional and you could tell that this wasn't their first rodeo. Marquis was Phenomenal and very responsive with all our crazy requests. I've used many companies in the past but none have done as great a job as these guys. We had a lot of glass pieces and They took great care in making sure everything was wrapped and protected properly. Nothing was damaged at all and that is rare. AND they didn't even bring a large enough truck to fit all of our stuff so we had to give some things away. We had to be out of our house the next day so no time to find a different mover. They knew that and they take advantage when you are vulnerable. If that wasnt enough they broke our 55" TV and refused to pay for it. **** ******* was the salesman and ******** is the so called operations manager. If I could give ZERO stars I would...
