My son and I were really excited to go to this school considering it is across the street from our…read morehome. He was being teased for playing with a little girl and after so many days, he defended himself saying to his friend "girls are dogs and dogs drink out of toilet bowls" When I picked my son up from school he was crying, devastated, saying that he got written up. He told me what happened and what was said. We talked why he did it and why it wasn't ok. The teacher messaged me on class dojo explaining what happened and that my son was very honest with her immediately, she talked to him and she could tell he was genuinely sorry. That he chose to make a difference by writing an assignment on anti bullying, I explained that he was sorry and the he said he wouldn't do it again..and that was the end of the discussion. I though it was over and dealt with until I picked my son up the next day and he was devastated crying AGAIN.....Nobody there with him to explain why he's so upset. He told me that he had to stay in a room and eat his lunch while writing an assignment on what Sousa's Expectations are from him, for using unkind words AND then had to sit on a bench for recess while everyone else got to play! That was his punishment for the rest of the week! Mind you, nobody ever informed me of him getting this kind of treatment!! I thought it was dealt with the day before! When I called the school to understand the situation both the principal secretary and principal were incredibly rude to me, pretty much called me a liar at one point. The principal said things like "you must feel like you guys are higher and above everyone else to think he shouldn't get this kind of punishment" (even tho my son was the only one punished in this "incident") and "if he was using kind words, he wouldn't be in this situation" instead of trying to make the situation better and being on the same page. It was their way or find another school! This school since then has deleted my reviews and won't even reply back to my emails. I've never dealt with something like this before and wouldn't wish it on anyone. The lack of respect is unreal. It was the first time he was ever in trouble! The punishment was too harsh for something so small. I was understanding the first day but it is not ok to treat any child this way and/or any parent for that matter. I have gotten plenty of advice from plenty of mothers and also see other ratings that state almost the same things to know my feelings are also justified and that this is not ok and they are perfectly fine with showing they DO NOT CARE! We no longer go to this school! Shame on Sousa Elementary School!!

The curriculum is standard but the school has great academic recognition for programs like math masters and word wise club for the students. My only lil complaint is that they seem to have a 'no policy' policy towards lice. Ick. A special shout-out goes to the librarian (Siack?) for her ability to hunt down books that my daughter requests. Thanks!

My nephew started here…read morewhen he was just 1 year old, and now at 4 years old, he has grown and learned so much because of the amazing care he's received. Each classroom he moved into had wonderful teachers who made every transition smooth and comfortable for him. The teachers always communicated well with our family and were great about collaborating with us to make sure he had the best experience possible. The administration has also been amazing. During my nephew's adoption journey, they were incredibly supportive and made him feel welcomed and truly like part of a family. That kind of love and care means more than words can explain. They have done such a great job preparing him for kindergarten, and honestly... he's not ready to let the center go (lol). Knowing he was in a place where he was loved, cared for, and safe brought our family so much peace and relief. Strong Foundations has truly left a lasting mark on our lives and our hearts. We are so grateful for everything they have done for our nephew, and I will always recommend this center to other families.

When we first started with TutorDoctor, our first tutor was not a great match but they were happy to listen to our feedback and send someone who worked better for our child's personality. The principal is too soft when it comes to handling issues with students and teachers. Bullying is somewhat low in this school. My kid had free lunch last year. Now, that my youngest is in school I have to pay reduce lunch. On my youngest second day of school her teacher lost her afterschool. We came 15 minutes early. She was told to go onto a bus by that same teacher. If she had gotten off the bus she would be gone. By luck she is a smart girl and told the bus driver she was not suppose to ride the bus.

Sage academy provides preschool-8th grade child are and education. They are a charter school here…read morein north phoenix. My husband and I are looking for infant care, which they do provide. We were particularly interested in availability of varied schedule which they said they had. We stopped by unannounced and requested a tour. Entering the building, my husband commented it looked like a jail. No windows, minimal overhead lighting with white painted brick walls- no decorations. The carpet was worn and pulled on some areas. The infant room was appalling. It is literally in a large closet with 3 mini cribs lined up. No windows. It smelled of bleach. 2 babies were on the floor with a worker who was playing on her phone an didn't even bother to put the phone down, say a word or even look at us. We looked at the preschool room next. I watched a 4 year old walk around alone in a hallway the whole time we were touring the hall- about 10 minutes. No adults. He could have walked out the exit door at the end of the hall to the street of he wanted to. Before we left, I looked in to the infant room 1 more time to see the woman hadn't moved and was still on her phone. Eeeek no thank you to a jail like, janitor closet atmosphere an in attentive caretakers! And the search for child care continues...
