Everything was also clean and kept. There was a small annoyance however. In our particular room there was an air conditioner right at the ceiling above the bed which had a very bright blue light. There was no way to turn it off unless you turned the AC off, so if you're anything like me and need it to be dark, bring a mask or something. My husband even said "I feel like we're on the moon..."

We love staying at a B&B rather than a chain hotel when we can. We took advantage of the Crayola Experience package, which is offered for either of the two-room suites that accommodate up to four guests. The main room has a King. The second room (more or less a sitting area on the way to the bathroom) has a twin with a trundle that can accommodate two kids. The package can be booked for a single night and includes admission tickets for up to four people, a Crayola gift pack for each kid, and a tray of snacks. Ours included some fabulous homemade peanut butter cookies! We booked two nights (the additional night was less than the first with the package). As a family of three we basically broke even on the additional package price vs. buying our own tickets, gift, and snacks. But this is vacation and to have that all taken care of plus the fun surprise for our daughter waiting in the room made it more than worth it. Lafayette has a comfortable, family feel. The wrap-around porch was a great place to sit (and run if you're a toddler) and everyone made my daughter feel welcome. By the second day she was calling it "our new house." The breakfast menu for the next day was posted in foyer each night. We had made-to-order omelets with choice of bacon or sausage each morning with different fresh fruit and homemade baked goods each day. Yogurt, cereal, and a variety of breads were also available. There were to-go cups for coffee along with mugs. Pastries plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, whole fruit, and sodas were available all the time in the parlor. Having a DVD player in the room allowed us to have a family movie night. We brought our own, but the front desk also had lots to borrow. Only wish we had had some popcorn!

"Regulars" tend to stare at first but once sitting down and striking conversation they are very friendly, even tend to buy a round for the whole bar every now and then. The place is VERY clean, especially for being a smoking bar.

I booked The Sangiovese Room (was The Wanner Suite "sunflower room") at the top of the stairs, with an outdoor balcony overlooking the sycamore tree & church next door. It was so nice to be welcomed with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies & daily wine & cheese. My room was clean, cool, and quiet. Keyless entry made coming & going a breeze. Morning breakfast of coffee, frittata, pastry, fresh berries & yogurt was yummy. I travelled in by bus from NY (Kutztown is very walkable) so I did not have a car while staying there & did not visit the winery. I look forward to visiting it in the future with friends! While in town, visit Paisley & Co. on Main St. for custom soaps, fragrances & lotion. And for a take-out dinner or a slice, Mama's Delight two blocks away is still the best!

On Friday November 6th, it takes us approximately 5 hours to reach Bethlehem. When there was about…read more1.5 hours left I contacted the property (along with general IHG customer care) because I noticed that my (2) double queen rooms had been updated and confirmed for (2) king rooms. Seeing as how we had 6 people and 2 elderly folks in our group, this was not going to work. -It took the remainder of the ride there which was in excess of 1.5 hours to gain no traction on getting back my double queen rooms. The stress and uncertainty of arriving in a town you've never been in with friends and family not knowing if you're going to have a place to stay is really a feeling I was not expecting to have when I confirmed my (2) double queen rooms when I booked. -I received zero communication or updates via the app, phone, email, etc for this MAJOR chance in my room reservation. All I had to go off of was email confirmation that noted that I had (2) double queen rooms. -When I arrived, half of my party came in with me and half stayed in the vehicle. When I approached the front desk, she explained to me that she was attempting to call people who had queen rooms to try and switch for me and that one had already confirmed a switch. So, at that point...I was "confirmed" for (1) Double Queen room and (1) King room. This was still impossible for me to do so I waited to make her other calls. In the meantime, I asked if they had another king room I could add and be comped to give me the 4 beds I needed. The other clerk scoffed and said no while citing that they were completely sold out. She had been rude the entire time so I tried not to speak with her. I explained that there was the ability to book a king room on the IHG site right then and there so there should be one available. She then explained to me that if I booked that non refundable room and paid for it, I would not have a room and I'd never see that money again. I decided to shut down and accept that I was not going to be treated fairly as a customer from that lady. After waiting for a while, we were notified that another person called back and was willing to switch us to the double queen room. SO, at this point after waiting around for over an hour on premises and trying to sort it out for over an hour on the ride to Bethlehem, we SUPPOSEDLY had what we ORIGINALLY booked months prior. -At this point there were alot of people in the lobby because we were not the only people having issues. The 2 front desk clerks were going back and forth with 2 of the cleaning staff during this time for another handful of minutes because they were saying all of the rooms were clean but the system wasn't showing it, etc etc. Eventually we got called back up and we were expecting to be checked in. HOWEVER, we were told that they actually had no double queen rooms at all and we were crap out of luck. -After this, I'm thoroughly embarrassed as the point man in my group. I have my name on this "guest of the day" board that is totally bullsh*t, and I'm being treated like an idiot. We have no place to stay but I have to keep my reservation because it's better than sleeping in our vehicle (which 2 of our elderly party members were doing at this point). I politely leave while asking them not to cancel my reservation. We proceed to drive around town for the next 2-3 hours in an attempt to find accommodations that will fit our group. After wasting gas, paying for parking at multiple spots, wasting time at multiple hotels BECAUSE hotels were booked. (hence why I booked my rooms so early)...we landed on a hotel that was able to accommodate us with 3 rooms at full, last minute, prices. I paid $500 more than I CONFIRMED AND BOOKED my candlewood rooms at but we had to do it, I had no other choice. -This ordeal started at 330 PM and I got booked into a room at 930 PM at a hotel I did not originally purchase because the Candlewood suites decided they didn't want to honor the reservation I book. It was a breach of contract, and I was not notified of any change. I was in contact with IHG customer service saying that IHG STRICTLY adheres to the terms of reservation and that I should contact you. I know what was being updated in the logs because that IHG person was telling me what was being put in my case number. The updates were false and I have record to prove that. In summary -I spent 6 hours of unplanned time trying to either RECTIFY my candlewood screw up that wasn't my fault, or running around town looking for a place for our party of 6 people to sleep. 2 of which were way too old to go through this crap. -I spent $500 extra of my money to book a different hotel that wasn't going to screw us over. This 500 does not include the gas and parking that I incurred looking for this. -We cancelled our dinner reservation because we prioritized our well being and where we were going to sleep. This was a $50 charge from the restaurant on the cancellation of last minute.

There is various seating from folding chairs to arm chairs to a couch to a recliner (which I grabbed. Very comfy. I might be hanging here awhile. There is a bar area with tables, but it looks like only beer is served; and since I'm not a beer drinker... The space is split into 3 sections: the stage and lounge seating, the bar area, and a gift shop selling holiday decor, candles, bath and body, home decor and more. I believe they have musical acts here every weekend. Relaxed atmosphere and nice spot to take a break from shopping.

In fact, I'd say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences ever. You walk into a beautiful, updated, wooden space that is warm and inviting. The rooms are redone in a very classy, vintage style. Nothing over the top, but a perfect balance between comfy and elegant. Head downstairs for some fresh cookies and wine glasses. Open up a bottle of your favorite vintage from one of the dozen or so wineries located nearby, including Folino Estates. Draw a nice, warm bath in a bear claw tub, relax and sip your favorite sparkling wine. Or enjoy the night in the outdoor common area. After a good night's sleep, wake up and enjoy a simple breakfast in the dining area and start your day hanging out on Main Street or heading out to the wineries. I recommend going when the nearby university isn't in session. But if you visit on a weekend during the semester, the Inn offers white noise machines to help ensure you have a relaxing night's sleep as well. A wonderful experience for a couple's getaway, or a great place to rent multiple rooms if you're having a reunion or wedding nearby. Can't wait to head back again.

We did a search for B&B's in the area and took a chance on the Main Street Inn. We absolutely fell in love with this place! The owners were adorable and extremely pleasant. We would always ask for a particular room which we fell in love with. There was another wine festival that we wanted to attend this month (April) and decided we would give the new proprietors our business. We booked the same room and at the time while making the reservations on line I mentioned that we would be checking in between 5:00pm and 5:30pm (we went to the wineries first). We received an email giving us a four digit number which would give us access to the outer door and to our room. We arrived at the Inn at about 5:15pm and used the four digit number numerous times and couldn't gain entry to our room. We called the manager Amy five times and left several messages and no response. We waited for an hour and a half before someone came and apologized for giving us a wrong code! When we got into the room it was decorated differently but it was neat and clean. There is no excuse for us to wait and hour and a half when it states in the email that if we are need of anything or having any problems to call and no one answers the phone. Note: My girlfriend remembered that the new owners owned an winery in the area and she called and spoke to someone within the winery and advised her of our dilemma and five minutes later is when the manager Amy finally called and ten minutes later a nice young lady opened the door for us and apologized for the situation. I want to be clear I was extremely frustrated and the Inn did lose a little of that Kutztown charm but it was nice and clean and I really like the small town charm of Kutztown!
