I have to write a review after my third night of waking up in soaked sheets. If I could give this hotel a zero that would be too much.
I brought my family here to London from Hawaii and after a long flight and arduous train ride from Heathrow, we ended up getting turned around walking with bags a mile in the wrong direction through a construction zone to find the hotel when the correct directions could have easily been posted on their website (not hard people).
Room does not have a phone to call the front desk, assuming to minimize complaints. You know its a bad sign when they give you complimentary ear plugs and yet act like you are getting the best thing ever. Yes, the hotel might as well sit on the train line.
No closet or any room amenities. Just a bend and roll in bathroom. We ended up in the handicap room which meant the counter in the bathroom was lower and no distinct rise to hold in the water from the shower. It was a great reminder of what life at sea where space was maximized to do multiple things at once- sit on the can, brush your teeth and shave simultaneously.
There is no mini fridge in the room so if you want to bring any food back, you should eat it right away. There is a poor excuse for a Foldgers serving machine that occupys what is only one of two tables where you can place items to feel some sort of organization.
Lastly, all three nights- it was over 24 degrees C in our room, making it difficult to sleep. It was 5 degrees cooler in the hallway. We complained to the manager and the best he could do was bring us a fan and somd cold drinks.
Do yourself a favor- either spend the money and go down the street to something nicer, go to the Holiday Inn Express or stay on the street- the guys sleeping at the train station were more comfortable than I was- but for the love of Jesus DO NOT pay over $300 (US) to stay in this litterbox like I did.
"So what was the best part about the hotel?" Hmm.. hard to say.. it's a toss up between the flaccid substance they called scrambled eggs in their inept attenpt to appear hip at the breakfast buffet and the apathetic guy who had the customer service skills of a high school kid who hates everyone for no reason.
Thanks Moxy- will never ever stay in yoir lame hotel line ever again, may even swittch my hotel loyalties to IHG after this experience. read more
